Body clings to salt... that sounds really annoying. Poet knows how hard it is to avoid salts in foods. Poet finds salt in almost everything.

Can't afford fruit? That is really common nowadays. People can't lose weight because the healthy food is expensive.
Do you have a farmer's market of sorts nearby? I hear they sell fruits and veggies cheaper at a local farm.

That doesn't sound right. Have you tried ACE? It is a safe way and it better as a motivation than your friend and doctors sound like.

@ Star - Well I know from my nutrition teacher that smaller more frequent meals encourage the metabolism.

Honestly all you need to do is take in 100-200 less calories than you burn. Then you would slowly lose weight.

>.>" personally I'm struggling to gain weight... (horribly underweight right now)

This is the problem with the world's weight gain right here:

Our food has been getting bigger and bigger as tie goes by, and we are told it is "one serving"

oh i know that.. i mesure everything.. reading hte back and if i think its to much i cut it down.. but i have naturelly slow motabilisim and it doens't help with everythign else i ahve going on.. i also don't absorb suger right so it SITS there and turns to fat -_- 'sigh' it often feels like im fighting a losing battle.

and then of course you can add in my friends constant 'i feel as if i'm doing something wrong' the whole 'if i could lose it for you I would' its okay for her to say. she has the money to afford the fruits and veggies.. her husband works plus she has a naturelly high motabilisim.. 'sigh'

Poet has good advice. ACE would save you a lot more money. It does three things: speeds up the metabolism, gives you energy, and takes away cravings for food. The speeded up metabolism alone burns energy which in turn helps burn fat and there is your weight loss. It won't work if you snack and eat a lot of unhealthy foods like donuts and ice cream all the time. However it should give you the mental capacity you need to make a difference at the least. I heard from one person that she didn't feel as stressed or down when using it. It is just one pill a day and each pill is just one dollar. Don't know if you want to try it or not. That is up to you. Some people lose 10 pounds a month. Others lose 25-30 pounds. Depends on just how much you exercise and diet. Obviously you don't want to lose too much at once.

what IS ACE?
and i don't eat lots of suger.. i maybe buy myself a one serving pack, you know those small ones meant to snack on? once a week. and the rest of the week i try and stick to tuna..and whatever else i can afford.. th eonly thing im greatfull for being poor for is it cuts down on the possible pizza thigns and i've learned how to cheat on that to i get these small...well you know how big the bottom of a coffee mug is right? its a tad smaller but their great. heat just one of those up with whateve rim goign to ahve for lunch and i have my 'high fat' snack. i also eat a lot of peanut butter cause it's a good burning food..'sigh'

@ Star - Just tell them "Muscle weighs more than fat" XD

*looks at the price thing* dang well why doesn't she donate healthy food if she's so insistent... sheesh...

---------- Post added 09-17-2012 at 03:39 AM ----------

@ Star - Celery if you like it is a good snack food, as it takes more calories to chew it than you get from it.

Do you drink soda at all?

well she DOES do that some times.. but only sometimes and okay i have a pride fault.. i DON'T like having to BEG people for help. and it jsut gets so dang frustrating because she goes on and on abou thow i was doing better when SHE was shopping. s ure.. but i still ended up with LESS food..leaving me hanging at the end of hte month..-_-

see right there that's a problem. but im shifting more to flavored water...sure high in sodium but its better then soda.. so i'll take the trade off.. i've gotten to where i am TRYING to only drink one two letter every week and im hopeing to cut that down to every two weeks and then further..

the problem is if i don't have ANY suger i get light headed, shakie on my feet, and befuddled. so you can see where hte problem is right?

@ Star - Got a dollar store type store there? I find the dollar store actually holds a lot of brands you spend 2-3 dollars for for only a dollar or so.

Well if salt is the cause of the edema... hmm... have you tried... *googles* green tea, red wine in moderation is good for you, umm... also I read that soy milk helps too, which soy is actually rather cheap last I checked.

'squeels' we finally did just this month. Soy is about five bucks. and its small small packageing. not worht the five but i do buy it. when i get a sweet tooth i buy chocolate soy milk.. that and it taste better then normal soy. i do occasionally drink green tea. coffee is also good and i don't min dit black.. i don't drink wine.. do you know how expensive that stuff is in a small small city? that and i try and stay away from alcohal..bad memories associated with it.
