It isn't something you outgrow evidently. I didn't really have homesickness through high school or college... but now that I am an ocean away, it hits and sometimes hard. Learned to find happy thoughts to replace the feelings though. You can always choose to be happy once you deal with what knocked you down.

Yep, my online friends are very important to me. My mom just doesn't seem to get it.

Mine either. It is okay though. It is your feelings, not hers. Just don't try to change her mind. Respect her opinion and hopefully she will return it.
