Lynne, for me, I wouldn't picture electricity from it if it weren't for the background DX Maybe you could try a different theme for electricity. Perhaps wires?

I think that if you (Ry) want to enter that avatar, you should at least change the light blue to white. The light blue you chose (I think it's even the lightest blue on the site) is just TOO blue to look anything like lightning XD; if anything it would represent the rain from the "storm" ^^; So yeah, in my opinion white would do the job much better ^^;

Thankies for the opinions, guys. Ugh, I hate the fact that I lack items for this challenge. D: Most of my stuff is either purple or blue, and I only have so much commons, which does NOT help my cause at all. Unless I use the MAC, but that currently lacks some of the layering I wanna accomplish with it. >.>;;

I'm thinking about removing the yellow, since no one seems to get the lightning bolt feel from it. ^^;; But Seiki, what do you about wires? D: I tried to do that, but we lack... wire-like items. >.>;; I'll keep searching though. ^^;;

And Creps, I tried to match-ish the bluish lightning from the Weather Forecast, hence the blue. ^^;; And I dunno, lightning isn't completely white to me when I see it, and it has a bluish tint to it. xDD;; But I see your point. :3


As for your avatar Creps, umm, I love the concept, but some things about the overall avatar kind of bug me personally. 8DD;; The strange combination of silvers on your ankle area confuse me, for one. But like I said, the idea is very interesting indeed. =P

I know we don't have a lot of wirey items but I was just thinking that maybe if you went like you were trying to do wires instead of bolts of electricity it would be more unique because you're actually showing how electricity is transfered to power stuff.

Hm... Maybe find some very metallic items and make it look like you're running a current through them? I know this still uses the whole bolts of electricity thing but it brings in the conductor aspect. I wonder if you should even have black or gold in there..

Darrell, that outfit is intense XD and it screams headdress colors.. XD (only Darrell is likely to get this bit >w> )

One of my new assignments for school is to build a headdress, and I chose to use ivory, maroon, black, and purple as the colors XD

Reminds me of what a friend taking fine arts had to do. She had to translate tribal and ritualistic headdresses of the past into something more modern than can be considered fashionable. 8DD;; It was a pretty cool assignment. xDD;;

I'm exited~ I'm not a great seamstress but it looks cool in my head. Hopefully it translates well in physical form XD

Not to intrude, but I saw what you said and I've seen some pretty blue lightning. I also looked 'lightning' up on Wikipedia, and this is what I found.

Blue jets

Blue jets differ from sprites in that they project from the top of the cumulonimbus above a thunderstorm, typically in a narrow cone, to the lowest levels of the ionosphere 25 miles (40 km) to 30 miles (48 km) above the earth. They are also brighter than sprites and, as implied by their name, are blue in colour. They were first recorded on October 21, 1989, on a video taken from the space shuttle as it passed over Australia, and subsequently extensively documented in 1994 during aircraft research flights by the University of Alaska.[52][49]

On September 14, 2001, scientists at the Arecibo Observatory photographed a huge jet double the height of those previously observed, reaching around 50 miles (80 km) into the atmosphere. The jet was located above a thunderstorm over the ocean, and lasted under a second. And guys, with or without Astral Halo? D: I like the sparky effect, but the star on top is ugleh. :x </3 And it covers the sparks coming from the tips of the New Years Hairpin, which is the reason why it's there in the fist place. ^^;;

Red lightning? o_O;; How interesting! I have yet to see red lightning, to be perfectly honest. xDD;; Except from fireworks, but I don't know if those count as lightning, per see. 8DD;;

Yeah, I think its caused when there's a lightning storm in a sunset.. Or something along those lines. :lol:
