This is a contest thread, and the avatars that you're seeing that are being posted in the thread and that are being asked for critiques on are the contestants wanting opinions on their actual entries. I mean, normally I wouldn't mind if you came in and asked for an opinion every once in a while, but I've just seen you ask for rates and opinions on your dream avatar and the past couple of MACs about five or so times in the past two pages DX I would suggest perhaps following Cami's advice about making a thread in the Subforum for all of your creations. Every time you come up with a new one, put an update and see what people have to say about it. It can be your avatar dump where you keep all your ideas.

@Rylynne: I actually like the second avatar better. It looks really good, except for the face. For some reason, the glasses don't look that great with the contacts. I dunno... if I were you, I would get rid of the black/green contacts altogether. You don't have black anywhere else in the avi anyway, so it doesn't throw anything off if you get rid of them.

The necklace is also somewhat distracting. I don't know why because it matches the color scheme perfectly... but for some reason I just keep staring at it and it grabs too much of the focus. Can you add the green clover pin there instead or does it not layer correctly with the tie?

SLOW!!! This avatar you have now is my favorite! the edgy hair works better than the pony. Please keep the green, *ish devastated*. Seriously, I love it, but if you want your old avatar, you can. That avatar is still great, but I like the green one more.

@ Pixore : Thanks for the advice. :3 I initially added the green/black contacts because I just wanted some sort of green eyes in my MAC, seeing as we still cannot change eyes there as of yet. xDD;; As for the green clover hairpin, I tried it, and it layers over the tie, yes, but it blended in too much with the top that it was useless to put it in. ^^;; So, I tried something different instead:



Editing is bad right now, as my Photoshop sucks, so, I'll fix the glasses part more later on if ever I decide to use this as my entry. ^^;;

Also tried something new for the Goodwill challenge. =O

It's a work in progress, but I wanted to give it a go. ^^;; The Assassin skirt's hem could pull itself off as something looking tattered-ish. ^^;; And yes, it's under 3,000g, even though I can't find a way to balance off the grays for now. D:

slow, I think I like your old avatar better in terms of flow, because the water headband + priest water sash thing swooshing in the same direction throws me off for some reason. ^^;; But, this newer one looks... I dunno, I like it, but I also don't, lolz. xDD;; Sorry I'm no help. ;_;

It's definitely much improved over the last one~ :D

That being said, the goodwill one is made of win. I love it. :heart:
If I were you, that's the one that I would use for this challenge. And to add some gray toward the head, I would try adding earrings, as they're cheap. I think the silver celestial eardrops might work well, but there are some others you can also try out.

Rylynne, I like the one in the green with the earrings better, personally, though it's too bad you can't have the glasses and earrings both, because I really like them both, hehe.

For your other avi, is there a pair of socks that matches the green in your avi's hair, to add a touch of that color green to the bottom part of your avi? Or, I know there is a pair of stockings that color. If you go with the socks (assuming they are available) or the stockings, you could also put that gold ankle band thing around her ankles to keep the gold balance.

I am going to be keeping an eye on this thread a while to figure out how things work, as I would eventually like to participate in this. This whole concept just seems really awesome and I like a good challenge! ;)

The glasses just seem to fit the challenge more imo, i dunno why it just seems to fit. XD

And don't forget if you want both you can always try to borrow from someone :)

basically I'm going for a sort of tree spirit warrior thing, even though the challenge is just to make a green avatar, it sort of started turning out that way and I like it

and I've just tried out different nature/tree related background type items to see what they look like
(plus trying different hairs)



so basically... any last suggestions and what looks best?
(and should I work on my water avatar some more instead? xD )
