After looking through this thread, I have to say that I think this avatar is most reminicient of what Mrs. Potato Head looks like. The purse, the silly hat... It's the best. I'm not particularly fond of the colors, but I think this avatar feels the most like a Potato Head. :D

My avatar will start being constructed soon. the MAC for me is only good for basic construction. XD.

Do you guys think I should add green or blue instead of the brown?

Well, potatoes are generally brown... xD
What I would do though, is use a dark base to represent the brown potato, and just use a couple bright colors, like bright red, green, and/or blue for the clothes.
I would also use really basic clothing items as well, since the Potato Heads are childrens toys, you wouldn't exactly see things like corsets or armor on them xD;

I'm not a judge so my opinion doesn't really count as much as others, but none of the avatars I saw here really reminded me of Potato Heads.

Here's the original. I still think this one is most similar to Mrs. Potato Head, mostly because of the scarf (which gives her this old, tacky, motherly atmosphere). xD;;
But if I add the scarf in, I'll have to add more brown as well. ;___;

@Creps: That's exactly what I was planning to do! I usually have a darker skin tone anyway, so I probably would have left it as it was...

I think green or blue would be much better than brown.

Like Creps said -- go with a darker brown skin tone and add from there.

I also think simplicity is best, as Potato Heads are all really basic.

@Pixore: I like the second green one best, but it seems a bit too cluttery for some reason. Think simplistic. That's what I liked about the first avatar you made. :D That scarf does come in two other colors -- I'd recommend trying the blue one out, and perhaps change the green for blue in that avatar. If you do decide to go with the green one, I'd go with yellow socks instead of red.

@Winter: It's just not very PotatoHeadey -- I like the colors and the outfit in general, but it's just not campy enough. I'm not sure I like the hairpin, but then again, there is a definite lack of orange head items, as I discovered last night trying to make this avatar. :sweat:

Maybe that's not the word I was looking for Winter... I think it's just far too stylish for a Potato Head.

The Potato Head family was simple -- they barely accessorized really. I think the avatar you had was just too well made/too stylish, if that tells you anything. XD But then again, I'm not a judge, so I'm not sure if you should take my opinion to heart really. XP I just know what I'd personally look for when judging.

Ferra, I personally think the pink hair works, and saw it as you did, a blending of colors, but I'm not so sure some of the other judges would. None the less, I like the avatar, but I don't see how it goes with the reference, except for the theme. It has bare feet. o.o

I have to agree with Sizz, Pixore yours is most suited towards her eccentric ways. I think you're right about the scarf. But that doesn't mean you have to add dark brown throughout! And she seems to definitely like spring green. :]
