Thats how we have them at my house, minus the pineapple. :)
My dad loves them! I like them. They're tasty.

Winter: I really like your current outfit. The large blotches of primary colors look very much like a child's toy, but it's also good looking as an outfit.

It's not perfect, of course. The colors aren't balanced perfectly, but for this challenge I don't think they need to be.

I'd respond to everyone, but there's been so many pages, I'm not sure who's still going with the outfits they posted.

Foggy: That's half the point of being in this competition. XD

I think you need some more clothes. I like the use of accessories, but I really think you need a real shirt. That looks a little too sexy for a kid's toy.

I also don't think you're allowed to wear tube socks.

I would rather the contestants not use tube socks, but I didn't say they couldn't.

No, I said I would prefer them to be the short socks because I felt the tube socks were too long. But I also outlined the items in that post that I absolutely did not want the contestants to use. Tube socks are okay, I would just rather they use the short socks first if possible.

DDD:
Don't keel the fireflies!NET!
[Though the gray in the area helps]

Much better quality. ^^
I still love the first one and though it looks better with the rose, I think it's more kid-friendly without it.
The second one screams ubersummershoppingyay! But the mismatched blues are a bit annoying.

Yay for 400 pages!

edit: Totally skipped over the vamp teeth, but yeah, I agree with Hatake, the teeth are childlike. x]

lol, to me this is challenging because my best avatars (in my opinion) I label as simple complexity, And this round is killing me for that since I like to make my avatars a little more complicated. My style is similar to clock's, but not quite so complicated.'

@ Hime - They seem to complex to me.
Not really something that I could image a child making.

When I think kids and toys, I think of them braiding the hair, and putting in huge bows and adding in flowers to everything. And they always just bulk the silliest things on. xP
The vampire teeth do seem to be something a kid would add, and especially the purses. The shake and lollipop both fit too.

@Winter: I like to mess around with layering, so it's a bit of a challenge for me too. I don't think I usually chuck on quite as many layers as you guys though. XD

Actually for more people then not the idea of simplistic is hard. Very few people are able to pull off a well balanced look with only a few items. It is easier to balance something by adding an extra item here or there but not so easy to take them off. It makes this challenge maddingly hard.

Keep in mind the toy itself.

It uses simple shapes. Bold colors. Recognizable objects. Cartoonish.

They use flowers - but they are cartoony flowers, not detailed flowers. Cartoony colors, not realistic colors.

I'm going to be semi-impartial during the making-an-avatar phase as with how many contestants there are at the moment I simply don't have time to do one-on-one feedback at the moment.

But I will say that choosing a hairstyle and color that is less realistic and more "cartoon" would help some avatars.

EDIT: ps. >_> Woo to 400 pages!

Okay, I need an additional opinion or two...
Does my current avatar or the following MAC work better?

This one has the brighter colors and they're better distributed, but I don't get Mrs. Potato Head out of it at all. I posted the one I currently have on earlier in the challenge and a lot of the comments I got said how the brown didn't really work. I agree with them, but I'm really struggling on bringing in another bright color... and the brown is starting to grow on me. In fact, I think it's actually pretty fitting for a potato head. xD;;

EDIT: I tried another MAC really quickly with green instead of the blue and I think it looks a little bit better. All the different shades seem to stand out more though. ;___;

i like the green myself...but..i dont know about potatohead....so maybe the blue works better...i have no clue.xD

ahh..
<----

ill not be lazy and work with mac tommorow.
i really dont think the pin works..
but without it..that ugly yellow of the head band thing shows.Dx...trying to find any other items suitable....

other than that...i think this one is better than my previous ones...?...?
maybe?yes?>.<

I think there are too many layers.
I really dont think that a childs toy will have layers. More like one solid thing, that stands out and looks pretty to the child.

Especially with cute accessories.
