Hey guys, thanks for all your suggestions.
I think I'm going to go with the third one... although I really hope that the judges don't kill me for using the same hat three times in a row. xD;;
@Stormy: I really like your avi. It's cute!
Is there any way that you can add dark blue toward her head though?

@ Pixore - They're most likely to kill me whilst I try to figure out why my images which are saved as .png, aren't staying as .png images.
Also, late congrats to Ferra! :D

<3 thanks Pix. I'm trying to find something blue to put towards her head, so far nothing. But I refuse to give up. Well right now I've given up for So You Think You Can Dance? is on. : D

@SilverMagi: Um... maybe I can help you out with the image saving?
The files should stay the same format once you've saved them. xD;;
Can you tell me step-by-step what you're doing?
EDIT: @Stormy: You're welcome. And lol, it's okay to take breaks... xD

@ Pixore - Thanks, and yeah, I know, but so far it hasn't worked. D:
1: Create avatar on MAC -
2: Screenshot -
3: Cut out items, etc, paste to Paint (I think this may be part of the problem.) -
4: Save as .png -
5: Load onto Photobucket, and then it says .jpg when I check the image -
I probably made some idiotic mistake. XD

Are you sure you're actually saving as a psd and not just adding the extension to the end of the filename?
Just putting psd there doesn't always change the file type
anyway, I'm not sure but can paint even save as odds? I woulnt think it could... Do you have any other image editing programs? You could download Gimp and use that

Okay, well, I do the exact same thing except that I use tinypic. Maybe photobucket automatically converts the images to .jpg?
Try using tinypic instead and see if photobucket is what's screwing you over.

Actually That's how I save my stuff as well and I have no problem with it. Maybe it's the settings on your photobucket? I don't know, cause that's exactly how I save mine and they are all still .png files.

@ Pix and Slow - Yeah, I'll try Tinypic, and I'll use my GIMP too. Might help.
EDIT - Used GIMP, and it seemed to work, since it stayed as .png on Photobucket. c:

This look a bit better, quality-wise?

you're welcome Silver ^^
the image quality looks a LOT better
it was probably just an issue with your Paint
I don't use Paint, I have a mac, but photobucket has never had any issues with pngs for me

It's not photobucket. I save all of my images to photobucket, and I never have trouble with pngs.
I'm not sure if my paint has the option to save as png, though. How are you saving it?
Wolfie: First thing I noticed about your avie was the eye makeup over the blindfold. xD I think it's awesome.

As for how I interpret the challenge, as long as it's yellow+blue+red or yellow+blue+black, it doesn't matter to me what combination/how heavy the colors are used.

On the topic of paint and photobucket, I use Paint almost exclusively unless I need layers and always save as .png file. I upload on tinypic now but I used to upload on photobucket and I had no problems.
I don't know what you're doing wrong, unless you mean that you cut out the items BEFORE you pasted in paint after your screenshot like you worded....which I don't even know how you'd do.

I do it the same, Donna.
I just take a screenshot of the MAC. Paste it in paint and fix it up however I want. Save as is, and then open it up in tinypic and have absolutely no problems. I dont have any problems if I try opening it on photobucket either.

My computer magically saves things as png for me because it just loves me. not really xD
png truly is the best format. I'll use jpeg if I'm not worried about super quality, because jpg can give you good quality if you need a smaller size. Just don't use it with anything that has like a white background to it or whatever. Solid backgrounds are bad for jpeg files.

The only time I save as .jpg is when a site only accepts .gif or .jpg ...or it's a phone cam photo. xD It's already horrible quality, it can't get much worse.
Best way to save jpgs is NOT in Paint though. It saves as a losee file instead of a lossless file that could be obtained by saving in Photoshop [for example], where you can pick the quality or size you want to save as.
Seiki, usuck.

.png is also my preferred file. I could not save anything as .png on my other Comp, sadly.
