Most of the judges this round seem so much stricter than the judges last round. Last round we went way off typical, doing all sorts of creative interpretations of the challenges, but this round the judges seem to get upset at slight deviations. I was surprised to see that two judges felt the avatar had to look like a little girl playing dress up, even though that wasn't at all stated in the challenge.

If I'm given a theme to judge on, I like to judge by the theme. Since the overall theme of the "season" is children's games, I'd expect things to be more fun/childish overall unless Seiki suggests the opposite in the challenge guidelines.
I really hate being told I "have no imagination" because that isn't something I can argue against very easily. But I am a little heavy on the whole "order" versus "chaos" thing in personality. I go a little closer to the book than winging it. I feel that gives everyone a more equal playing field than judging purely on whether or not I like it or not. Because if I judged more on if I liked an avatar or not, the scores from me would be much lower overall.

Ferra - Personally, I like the second the best. ^^
EDIT: Okay, here's my first attempt. Probably will not submit it, but I'd like some feedback none the less.

I didn't go so much for royal as little girl dressing up like what she thinks a princess is.
She's got on her favorite dress, and her favorite little girly socks. The kinds with the hearts are the best.
Her mommy let her have an old pair of her high heels (because the strap broke!), and even helped her put a little bow in her hair.
But what's that? Oh no, she got the black ring [er, bracelet]! You can understand why she's pouting. Maybe her plushie will cheer her up.
EDIT: Oh, I forgot, I'd probably change the hair. xD I was just using that style as a placeholder. Forgot to change it to something else. Well, I'll get feedback before I bother.
Also, I tried more royal looks, but they looked silly the moment I tried to incorporate anything childish into them. And without doing so, they looked way too grown-up for a challenge based off Pretty Pretty Princess.

the first one looks really cool but I don't think the black is quite right for the challenge
but I like the second and third one
Cherry
Sorry but it feels too incomplete... you haven't taken advantage of the layers enough for me to be happy with it

CK: I'm surprised you responded like that, as I hadn't included you in the two judges being as you said that you didn't think it needed to look like a child playing dress up, just like a princess. XD
I'm not accusing anyone of not having imagination. There's nothing wrong with judging by theme. I'm mostly just commenting on the differences. It results in very different rounds.
I'm sure everyone knows that I'm more chaos based than order, but I do like there to be a theme rather than just items thrown on. I just think there are many different ways of expressing a theme and that, in this particular round, judges have preferred for outfits to follow one, very strict interpretation, and then complained that all of the outfits look the same.
For the record, I haven't disagreed with any of the avies that have lost as of yet. I'm sure you guys will do a great job of finding a winner, and if I do disagree with the results, it doesn't really matter because I'm not a judge.
Cherry: I agree with Slow that it's cute but it doesn't feel complete. A belt especially will help. Remember that little girl love putting on too many clothes too.

Well, one, I keep getting told that I'm over-layering by the judges. Two, we don't have a lot of items that seem to work well with it. Little girls DO love putting on a lot of clothes, but if you put ALL of that on a little girl, it would be considered a lot by "real life" standards. She wouldn't have stockings under her socks, gloves over gloves, etc. I could see a Tshirt under her dress, though. If she just put it her dress on over her normal clothes, which little girls do do.
I did look at belts, but they sit too low, so with the way that dress frills out, it looks really weird. The only ones that looked alright would be nightstalker sashes (not the right colors), Steampunk corsets (don't fit the theme), or a waspie. Should I do a waspie?
I could perhaps have her wearing short pants under her dress, but that wouldn't look very princessy, and would be changing the challenge more into simply "a little kid."
Another skirt...?

You have to remember that this is an avatar competition, not a dress-exactly-like-real-life competition
it might be unrealistic to portray a little girl wearing socks with stockings and three different tops, but that's what looks good and creates good flow and colour balance on mene
as for your previous entries, I'm the opposite, I keep feeling like you're not using enough layers :/
or, I should say... not that you're not using enough layers, but that you're using the same layers and items again and again... it ends up feeling too simplistic when there are three or four avatars next to each other that look really similar

Everyone has their own interpretations with what makes an avatar look good. In my opinion I would say this challenge calls for a little more realism with some of the comments I read earlier.
But everyone will read it differently. I already sent in my entry and I am pleased with it. As long as everyone is satisfied in their own right with the entries they make, that is all that matters.
I look at this Project Mene as a competition that allows users to grow into their style with constructive criticism that will help to make their avatar style better and more unique. Which is why I entered again in the first place.

Wolfie: I'm with you. I would much rather go out with an avie that I liked than only try to fulfill the expectations of others--especially, since it's so easy to misinterpret what others would like and end up out anyway.

Thanks for the input! :D
Apparently I like making princess outfits. XD *has already made quite a few, even before this challenge*
Here's another one I just made:
I also still like this one, although I realize using black is risky. I just saw the EGL crown and thought "Pretty Pretty Princess is pretty lolita". XD It's not exceptionally lolita-esque though since I didn't want to use a lot from that set.
I keep going back and forth between using blues (which is what I would wear when I dressed like a princess) and that nice red/cream combo.

I actually quite like the black one. :)
Maybe girls from different areas would wear darker clothes during dress up too.
For all we know, little girls in some places may like Lolita. lol
@ Cami - I actually think that CK was getting up at my comment that said that I dont think the judges are very fond of the imaginative avis this cycle. But thats because they do mosly just have one exact view that they are looking for, and if people get creative they tend to not see it the same way.
But I agree with you. I quite agreee with the outcomes so far. I agree with all the eleminations and the winners i've liked. :)

xD I tended to be themed somehow it seems when I was little. xD My favorite outfit being a navy blue sailor outfit. xD
Maybe that is where my theme obsession came from.... xD

Ferra, I like the layering of the first, but I like the overall feel of the second one more. :3 I would try a different style of shoes though, but that's just me. ^^;; <3<3

@Ferra: I really like your second avatar (with the egl crown). I actually had a similar WIP, except in stead of peach, I used purple. And I really liked it until I realized that it looked like the Queen of Hearts from Alice In Wonderland. xD;;
But yeah, it's cute. And I don't know why so many of the judges think little girls would never have even a little bit of black in their outfits... o.O;;

Well, black does happen in little girl outfits, but aside from the classic mary janes, you just don't think of black as something a little girl would want to dress up in.
But I think if black is kept to little accents it'd be fine and like something a little girl would wear.

@Rylynne: How about these shoes? I think I like them a bit better.
EDIT: I also changed up the layering a little for that other outfit:
