Well, if she is caught, she'll probably be at home... and could tell as that much.
xD

...
Wow.
I can definitely see how you could stay busy with all that on your plate!

@ Sizz : Well, your boss liking you is definitely a good thing then. >;] Lolz~ 8DD;;

And wow, I see! =O You sorta have my dream job, since I dream of working in a magazine someday. :drool: Tis why I'm in Journalism, after all~ ^^ Layouting, writing articles, and the creative juices behind a magazine is what I'm all about, lolz. xDD;; <3<3

@ Hatake : I meant that if she wasn't online at this time, since she's currently at work now, I think? xDD;;

Oh, even if I get caught, I wouldn't get into trouble probably. XP I'd probably just get a look from my boss like, "You're supposed to be working. Tsk tsk!"

But yeah, he's fond of me I think, so I'm not too worried about getting into trouble. He's seen Mene up on my screen before, when I didn't have time to hide the browser window. :sweat:

Oh cool Ry! Journalism is fun, but I'll warn you now -- it doesn't pay much. You have to be in it for the love of it, you know? I was on newspaper staff in HS, and when I went to college I debated either Journalism or Biology (working toward becoming a doctor/researcher of some sort). I took my first college Bio class and decided that medicine was just too much work, and that I'd rather have an easy, stress-free job than work my ass off in school for 10 years and be constantly stressed/emotionally drained from my job.

But now that I have a low-stress job, I get to worry about other things unnecessarily. XP Good times.

I want to make my own magazine eventually, but that's a long time coming. We'll see how the business goes in the next 20 years. Maybe one day I can make that dream come true, but the magazine industry isn't doing so hot. At least it's not as bad as the newspaper industry....

Oooooh.
xD
you have a point there Ryl!

Ah, He sounds like a good boss though!

I've been on my hs's newspaper, but I disliked how disorderly the teachers kept it and how it never got out on time. And the editors cut out a very important part of one of my articles...

Nope, I'm not at work now. It's Sunday, 12:48 p.m. here. XP I'm sitting on my couch, listening to my neighbors be loud and annoying.

Yeah, they pollute my life with noise. I hate them sometimes. :/ And I live in an apartment building, and they've got a pit bull. :/ Large dogs should not live in apartments, poor thing. :(

Ah, my HS newspaper was really organized. We earned a bunch of awards and stuff, so our program was pretty good. :D Newspaper was tons of fun... I miss the hectic worknights sometimes.

@ Sizzla : Lolz, your boss seems awesome then. xDD;;
And omg, really? =O What did he say to that then? 8DD;;

And yes, I definitely am aware that the journalism route doesn't pay much. ^^;;
My other choice was actually Economics, or something about Marketing, since I absolutely LOVE everything about advertising. :3
But, the school I want to get into doesn't have anything advertising-related, but they do have some subjects on it which I plan on taking. :> It took me some time to decide if I should go for the money course or the course where I really love and enjoy, and I happened to choose the latter despite the difficulties I know I'll be going through. =) I don't see myself giving up on it because of money issues though, because I would rather do something I enjoy and make enough or earn lots but hate and whine about the job (this is from personal experience, because said examples exemplify my parents, lolz xDD).

And at least you're enjoying yourself though! :> <3<3 That's what's important. ^^

And yeah, I also wish to run my own magazine company someday. =O <3<3 Of course, that's FAARR away from now, so I'm not thinking too much about it. ^^;; And yeah, the newspaper industry isn't doing so well, I'll say. :< I don't think it can completely die though, if you ask my personal opinion, but we'll see, 10 years from now, I guess. xDD;;

@ Hatake : Lolz, yay! I have a point? 8DD;; <3<3

Dogs and apartments do not mix...

That's horrible!! Apartments are small dogs and cats possibly only.

Cherry: All the ones I've seen have already been locked. XD

Ryl: I've been told that it's better to minor in journalism than major in it. You major in what you actually want to write about (like, say, economics). That way you have a level of expertise in a field and not just the general writing skills.

Plus, you have a back-up plan for if newspapers die. XD

But really, just being able to write doesn't do much good if you have nothing to write about.

Sizz: I work from home, and it's horrid. XD I wish I had a boss that might catch me online so that I'd have a greater motivation to not be online. <<,,

I've been posting in their threads to help them out and give them direction, but I forget to report them to have them moved to the right forums DX

And I'll have the new challenge up in a bit you guys. I'm starving and I haven't had anything to eat yet. I've been up for almost 12 hours DX

I'm not even a mod and the newbies are driving me crazy
I keep happening upon the ones that start to spam up the place @[email protected]
And I have to report them and attempt to explain some rules to them. I'd much rather give them the boot or rub the rules in their nose, but I just remember that I wasn't a clueless newbie at the time too. I do recall having double posted.

It seems like its probably hell for the mods right now
So many newcomers, so many unread rules D:

@Suona: It's a challenge, but we don't want to scare the nooblets away if they seem genuinely lost (although major spammers, advertisers, or trolls will get the boot). Just report what you see and the staff can take it from there. :yes:

I witnessed the awesome force of the mods in action all yesterday. >8D Hur hur hur.

@ Hatake - One of them I just wanted to toss back at gaia
She popped into a thread and double posted and both ones saying something like "asdfgh"
And then I reported them and notified her that it wasn't aloud. And I went to check to see what other posts she has made, to make sure she didn't spam up the whole site. And she made her own thread and said she was earning money and posted about five times with the spam. @[email protected];; Was sooo hard not to flip out. But luckily someone calmer had already taken care of explaining the rules to her in the thread.

Thats awesome. I love it. :drool:

@ Ferra - Yeah, thats just what I do
I get too grumpy (majorly short fuse) to just deal with them on my own

Oooh. Was it mighty? :insane:

Yeah, I really got to wonder what makes people want to start those spam threads in the first place. =/ Spam in funny context makes sense, but making threads of nonsense seems pointless to me. Granted it's usually done to try and make gold.

Makes them learn quickly that its pointless. Heehee

oh, I've seen people who seemingly bashed their faces into the keyboard for entire posts... that are flipping LONG. One post was bigger than my laptop's screen...
= _____ =
But they usually leave or secretly get booted. thankthelord.

They are sneaky, like ninjas. :ninja: So you had to know where to look.

And I agree, I never acted that way as a newbie so I can't understand the thought-process behind it. It's a strange trend, but luckily the ones who are dead-set on spamming give up pretty quickly.

I never made my own newbie thread :/
And I have checked back on my old stuff, and I didn't seem to be too bad. Greatly clueless, though. lol I snicker now at all the questions that I asked. ;P
But I also joined during and event and was an avid poster, so I learned rather quickly

I don't think most of my original posts are on the public boards anymore. XD; I know my fresh meat thread is in the trash. *is old* I joined shortly after the first Easter event I believe, right after they stopped selling crowns to my dismay.
