oh no!
I hope he gets better Winter!
if I apply as a contestant it'll be my third consecutive round... it'll be contestant, judge, contestant xD
and on a completely unrelated note... whenever I read this thread title, I can't help thinking "Jamaica Avenue!" xD

Sizz, if you've won once you're not allowed to participate as a contestant again to make it fair to others who want to win a first time haha.
Winter, thats fine. Just take care of your puppy. I know when my youngest had parvo as a little brat we were so worried about him. We had to use a little IV to put fluids and food into him because anything he physically consumed made him super sick. The IV put a bunch of liquid under his skin and it looked like a huge bubble on his body after we had to use it but it was the only way he absorbed anything.

well, I am hoping this blows over tomorrow and isn't that. He just started to consume water on his own, and although he is still vomitting, it does not seem to match the amount he is taking in, so I guess that is a good sign? He is bloated and skin and bones at the same time, if you get what I am saying. :/
My biggest problem right now is finding the little butt. Why do the sickly wander so much? If it wasn't for my other dogs, I probably would not find him half the time. x.x He seems to have become an expert of camo. <.<
But yeah... I don't know. I know tomorrow is definitely out of the question. Saturday is a maybe. My dad has a 3 day weekend, and we all really need a break. x.x Not that the convention is a break, but like I said, I do not plan to stick around. Maybe something is playing in the Shakespeare Tavern or we can go to the Imax or aquarium. Or shopping... xD
Do you know if CK will be there sunday or monday? :/ I am trying to figure this out.
And would you be willing to participate in my feildwork? Pretty much all I will be doing is asking you some questions about your experience on the site and observing your interactions with other users..That of which I kind of do anyways since I am always lurking these threads xD
I will have a consent form with everything on it tomorrow and a revised proposal for you guys to read tomorrow, so you have a better description of it. x.x But my fieldnotes 1 are due wednesday, and the bulk of that was going to come from the convention, but now I dunno.

Winter, I was just reading about Parvo and it said that in dogs, it's transmitted through direct or indirect contact with the infected dog's feces.
So until you know what's wrong with your puppy, you should definitely be sure to clean up after him so your other doggies don't get sick, too. D:
Oh, and animals hide when they're wounded as a survival instinct. If they were in the wild and wounded/sick, they'd be an easy target for predators. So they hide until they feel better.

See, I don't know for sure if it is parvo. and doing that would be a bit of a challenge. :/ we do not know what is his and what is not, and we do not even know where to put it. I guess we could always through it into the ditch... :/
The other dogs have been acting fine though. And this started yesterday when we noticed the appetite was gone, except for milkbones so yeah... I will ask my da about the feces tomorrow.
But the food we feed them makes the feces break up and turn chalky within days... :/dunno.
And cherry, I did not even think of that. It is true...but all my dogs, though male, dote and mother him...well...i guess wolfman grandpas him. xD But this is the first dog he has actually taken to and let lick him. xD But it gets very inconvient for us, since there are so many places for that pup to hide in our backyard. x.x he had to grab him out by his legs from under one of our buildings to take him to the vet after buster found him. And he gave me a friggin scare earlier. we have an electric fence on back fence because soldier decided to play mouse with metal last year and he was between it and the fence. x.x I came in yelling for my dad to come out and turn it off...turns out it hasn't been hot for a while....
but yeah...I just had to search for him in the dark a while ago. x.x I wish our back yard was smaller.

Yeah - I'll be staying all of Sunday and the first few hours of Monday (by which I mean around 2pm). Basically, if you need to find me you can be certain of finding me at one of the TAPS (Ghost Hunters) panels. XD Of course, those things are always PACKED so you'll have to know who you're looking for. (I probably will be wearing glasses, which I don't seem to have a photo of.)
Anyway - this just reminds me that I intended on making that "win yourself a shirt" thread before I left, so I'd better do that now. Keep an eye on Community Discussions > Contests. Though if it doesn't show up in the next five hours, assume that I didn't get it finished before I had to go to bed. >_>;

Winter - Well, if you can't tell his poop apart from the other doggie's poop, then it's probably not parvo. From what I was reading, if he had it, he'd probably have diarrhea, or even bloody diarrhea.
But I'm not expert, I just skimmed a wiki article, so still keep an eye on him and take him to the vet and such.

Okay. ^^ either way, atlanta is 1 and half to 3 hours away, depending on how fast you drive, from me. xD
Cherry- well, he finally started to urinate late this afternoon as well. I do not know exactly how bad it was this morning. I am going off what my mom said my dad's reaction was. Which is scary enough. :/

Winter, you can ask me any questions you'd like for your field study.
Cora, it must have been left out when I had to rewrite the rules for the thread when I first started it. Contestants are allowed to enter as many times as they want until they win. Once a contestant has won, they cannot enter again. I might change this rule to be a three cycle wait, but we'll see. I'll decide later.

Yeah. I'm about the same, only over in Alabama. XD It takes us about an hour and a half, though, and it's a straight shot dependent only on traffic. :3
I hope your puppy feels better... I suddenly realize that I can't remember saying so in my last post. Too distracted to look. ._.;

Yay! Thanks seiki. xD
Just need to get crap up now but too tired. x.x 2 hours of sleep and a narcotic cough medicine do not go hand and hand. xD
Ck- Once we get on I-20 is it pretty much a straight shot here though. But like, my dad does 90mph on the highway so yeah...a 3 hour drive is pretty much cut in half if my mom is not with us. xD
Thanks. ^^

Oh no Winter! I'm so sorry about your little one! I hope he gets better and it's not parvo! My puppy means the world to me, so I would be scared to death if [and have been when] anything happened to her. I'm crossing my fingers for you and hoping for the best for your puppy! <33

Puppy has parvo. Our regular vet was killing him with the instructions gave us. Just making him my dehydrated than he already was and not being able to keep the pill down. thank god I asked my dad to take him to our family friend for the second visit, espicially after what you guys told me. We do not like using family friends as doctors/vets/mechanics/etc, but he gave us a lot of helpful advice now and it is clear this guy is not in it for money...and apparently they call our regular vet the dog reaper...And he is pretty well known in the surrounding area.
Basically now we have the IV, shots of antibiotics instead of pills, and a reason to have him inside despite my moms wishes. Now the pup has a chance to live.
And winter likes the new link buttons the site has.
