Do you just not like the taste?
Or is it another texture thing?
One of my good friends has stopped eating meat, too.
She likes the taste of it, but she doesn't approve of the process

It's hard to explain. It's just the whole thing. The blood and the bones and the tendons. Sometimes I liked the taste, but then there was a spot of red or a fatty line and I just feel sick. The less it resembles the original animal, the more I could handle it, but things like chicken legs or lobster I could barely even look at.

I refuse to eat meat unless its pretty much burnt. I'm so not into rarer beef and stuff, and I don't like looking at the color of it, so I ask my parents to pretty much burn the outer layer almost of whatever it is I'm eating so that I don't really see it either.
I'm the same way with meat as you were Cami. If I can see what it was by looking at it, its definitely not going down my throat, or even near my mouth.

Aw. I'm sorry.
I imagine that that could be pretty hard.
I feel bad that it was an animal, especially because I love animals so much, but I still understand that its good for the body to eat meat, and most species do so as well.

I love getting the california rolls at the college. You get 8 huge pieces for $5.

The texture of fatty chunks of meat really bothers me, like the fat deposits on cheap steak, and I'm not a fan of finding veins in my chicken, but other than that I'm a big meat fan. Not really a steak eater though since the taste has never been that great to me (unless it's stir-fried).

I'm not a big sushi fan. x.x
The only thing I like about California rolls is the Cali part. xD
I love meat. >>
Though I can't stand to eat it unless it's well done. If the inside is pink I won't eat it. Ew chicken veins. x.x

My parents are good cooks when it comes to meat, so I love it
They make it so positively delicious, I couldn't not like it. Haha

I hate fatty meats and my parents know it. And it I see a vein, I quit eating. the fat does not bother me too much since I just cut it away. I even now have the stomach to look at the cuts of meat before it is cooked and pick out the one I want. Eh, you can make any cut of steak great if you know how to cook it right. I love almost all meats...not pork xD
I used to only eat steak almost burnt, then it lessened to extra well done, then well done, and now I prefer it medium well (pinkish, but not bloody). The flavor is amazing to me. I can't go down any further than that though. :/ And steak is the only red meat i will eat pink, or in general, unless it is specifically my dads or omas meatballs...but that is made from deer meat xD
Correction: I will also eat veal if cooked right. Schnitzel anyone?xD And beef jerky
Chicken I am now eliminating brands because of texture. xD I think my parents are getting annoyed with it too. xD Organic chicken is love <3 however, you have to go to publix, the fresh market, or a specific kroger around here to get it. Why does the walmart in FL have it ? T_T
I love most shellfish, and fish in general I love sway, tilapia, tuna, and salmon!! <3 all must me broiled, grilled/wood grilled, or smoked for me or I won't eat it xD
And Turkey <3
But in general, all meats have to be of a good quality for me to eat it because of my texture issues.

xD I know what they do to...but I do not care that much to be honest. We are omnivores. xD Circle of life and and food chain and all that mess.
The only things I do not want to know about are the original mince meat pies, hotdogs and similar things, and headcheese.... bleh....
well...there is more, but still. xD

xD My cousin tried to go vegan, doing all the straightedge stuff on top of that(like, the branch of sXe that is vegan)...she failed and then had it all backfire in her face.
She is still vegetarian though. Hers came about for one of the same reasons as me: texture. xD
Except I never quit eating it.
There is another vegetarian in my family that I know of, a great great aunt, who has been vegetarian most of her life completely because of texture.
So I guess it is something that runs in the family, but is rare.

Vegans and vegetarians have to be extremely careful with what they eat, we still need the nutrients you get from meat, which is even harder for vegans....I've seen it blow up in the face of more then one person who has tried....a friend of mine actually made herself really sick trying to go vegan.....
As for family....I tihnk I'm the only one in my family....my husband is a meat eater but he respects my tastes and I his.

Lol, no what I mean is, she realized some of the things she could not have and the substitutes for them were nasty. xD that and she pretty much does everything now that goes against sXe.
She takes all kinds of supplements and vitamins though. And she is finally eating foods that give those naturally instead of pills. x.x she was near anorexia for a while. She is an extreme case though. We both have weird tastes and she is more limited by hers. Plus she wanted to be the runway model type for a while. xD Yeah...she got lazy with that lifestyle once she got the body and everything. xD
I respect vegetarians and if i wanted to, I could probably swing that way because of my issues, but I choose not to. ::shrugs::
