It took me a long time to remember/type out everything I do at my job. It's a LOT. :sweat:


I think I knew someone who did Americorps, but I can't remember. I've had several friends travel abroad to do work -- my BFF went to Chile, Brazil and Colombia and helped run and set up non-profits that built houses for the poor. Techo para Chile was the first one. :yes: Now she's back and in grad school (that's been fully paid for by scholarships and the university) and working for the treasury department. She's got it made! XD

And yeah Ry, I'm not on my mule all that much, and when I am, it's at night when I play Tetris. That and I worked all day and modded most of the day, so I need some off-time. XP

OF COURSE I list them on my resume. I've never been told to leave them off. I feel that the titles of these people give me some cred, so I totally put them on there. :D

Okay, here's mine, but this was from over a year ago, so quite a bit needs to be changed. Namely, I need to add my job for this school year, my internship from last summer, my declared emphasis, and my newly declared minor. I need to take off the ET internship and computer skills since I'm not doing computer stuff anymore.

I've always been told to have references ready, but only to provide them if they're requested. That way a recruiter or employer is forced to talk to you first before calling all of your references and finding out everything before even asking you anything. *shrug*

Aww, you're on your college radio station? I was too! But I was just a DJ -- not a fancy schmancy program director. XD What's the hot new hotness in college these days? I miss going up to the station and ripping new discs.

Huh. Well, I have no problem with someone calling my refs. They shouldn't have anything bad to say about me. XD

I do DJ work, but DJs are our general membership so it's not "noteworthy" xD

Also, our DJs are entirely volunteer. We have 68 actives this semester, and 14 in this semester's training class (though we only had 16 apply... last semester we had 44 apply x_x)

I'm the wrong person to ask about music trends lol, the last two semesters I've been doing news shows. This semester I'm taking time off from DJ'ing since I'm repeating a course. I would like to graduate on time, it's kindof a priority for me. And, when I was playing music, I was doing really weird stuff. I had a theme every show. My favorite show was songs about the weather.

Oh yeah, all of our DJs were volunteer too. But it was quite a process/competition to get a spot -- there were all kinds of long applications we had to fill out every semester. All the cool kids were on the radio, so you had to be pretty well-versed in music to get an on-air job.

:lol: I'll bet your show was fun to listen to. XP I would be amused by a theme show.

I had to do mostly rotation, but over breaks (winter, summer), we could play whatever we wanted -- within reason, of course. I tended toward hip-hop/electronica/indie rock shows.

We're free-format all the time, so we don't tell DJs what to do with their shows. There's only one exception, and that's the morning news show, but those spots are set aside for that so DJ's who don't want to do it don't have to sign up for those spots :lol:

I love our station because you don't really have to know anything going in. We have a one-page application, followed by the best interview EVAR.

I wish we still had our webstream, I'd totally link you xD

Maybe the webcam feed is a suitable substitute? You can just listen to what you like and pretend that's what they're playing :lol:

Though, knowing the DJ that's in right now, it's likely hard rock or metal type stuff.

my resume sucks compared to yours... it's sorta pretty and all, but I have approximately zero relevant experience so it's just full of my school awards and extracurriculars for now :/

but when I finish uni and start applying for jobs with graphic design studios then I'll have to design a really good, professional looking resume to try and impress them with my design skills xD

My other account (who I don't like to call a mule just because it feels derogatory--xD ignore me, I'm weird) mostly acts as storage. He has all of my extra sets. I also occassionally wander around on him when I feel like it. He also helps me get sets during events.

Oh, and he plays games every day. Usually, the gold I make on this account goes towards commons, and the gold I get on his account goes towards the month's CIs.

Ryl: XD I usually call him my beau or my other half. I should come up with a whole list of nicknames and just use a different one each time.
