Oi, I may need to PM Seiki if I can't stay out of bed long enough to come up with something for this first round. Sudepherine and Nyquil are a potent mix...
Anyway, I'm also wondering if being color blind really counds as an illness? I'm struggling to come up with an illness I can depict with what I've got in my head and my invo. @ [email protected];

Thanks, Seiki. Was talking to my beau about this challenge and he brought up his brother, who has the red-green color blindness and I wasn't really all that sure if it counts as an illness. It's kind of an in-between thing where in some areas if can afect life negatively and in others actually be helpful. I guess in his brother's case it might be helpful as it can aid in distinguishing differences in color camouflage.

I personally wouldn't consider it an illness. :sweat: You're not "sick" if you're colorblind. It's technically considered a disability - one that's usually genetic, so it's not even caused by a disease.

oo; I occasionally have a weird stream of consciousness? At first I had thought of eye things, such an Jaundice, but jaundice isn't so much an illness as it is a symptom of another illness so I ruled it out. Then I got to thinking of what items the site had and considered cat scratch fever, but that didn't seem entirely feasible with what I've got plus it's usually a fairly contained little disease that involves postules and gunk we don't have as items, so that went away. And then I couldn't help but think on eye things because I know kitties are, in fact, color blind (though they can be taught to see shades) and wondered about color blindness in humans. oo;
Problem is, I don't know how to go about it. Making an avi in the remaining colors that are visible seems kind of like a cheap way out, doesn't it? Especially given the color-blind gene is predominantly in males. There's really only one that I've found so far that's equally likely (and equally super rare) for both genders that limits the blue-yellow spectrum. It tends to leave colors of pinks, more cyan-turquoise blues and a grayed out lavender. Certainly a nice color scheme to play with, but not something you'd easily understand as anything but an avi at first glance and even after close inspection without the description.
EDIT:
Ferra: That's why I was sitting on the line with it. But there are illnesses that don't present as being "Sick" in the physical sense of the word. Hearing voices in your head or making yourself binge and purge are not actual sicknesses in that sense of the word, either, but they are still categorized as mental illness and not disability.

I'll probably scrap it. It sits too close on disability to me as well. Where's one of mum's old nursing books when I need one for ideas I can read in bed. @ [email protected]

Color blindness isn't an illness, though.
