My name came from a list of Latin words my group was looking at in an attempt to come up with a team name. (For a book competition no less, lol. *nerd*)

I was working on a story at the time (I was still in middle school) and Ferra seemed to fit one of the characters. I never got around to doing much with that story though, but I reused the basic setting for one of my main OCs (Kithley).

I've never understood the phrase OC. Why specify original character? I would make the assumption that if you said, one of my characters, you meant an original character. You wouldn't refer to a character someone else made as your character.

I suppose it has become an accepted term.....so I use it.

Acronyms are usually preferred anyway. Make it easier to type out really quick, and most everyone is familiar with OC by now.

I guess some people prefer acronyms. XD I type 90 words a minute, so I suppose the fact that I don't get the need for them doesn't mean that there isn't a need for them.

I type 100 wpm, but I still enjoy acronyms.

What for? XD It's easier for me to type out the word then remember what the acronym is supposed to be.

@Cami: I suppose I'm stuck thinking about it in RP terms. In that case, it would be as opposed to fan characters (characters designed to fit into a preexisting cannon). I also wouldn't consider an RP character based off of an avatar to be an OC unless the avatar was cosplaying an existing OC's appearance.

You can classify a lot of things as "characters," but something labeled as "Original Character" distinguishes it as coming from the author/artist's own imagination. Of course any character won't be truly original and I've seen some laughable things people claim as OCs, but it's a quick way to make the distinction between fan-based and original work.

That's my own distinctions though. There are times when I might classify a fan-character as an OC as well, depending on the context.

Why wouldn't a RP character based off of an avatar be an OC? Cami is my original character, despite having started as a role play character.

My username comes from a nickname my dad used to call me, which he made my first email address. I also use Indie Anna sometimes. I wish I lived in Indiana and my last name was Jones, though. </3

Also, I have a new original character that totally looks like an avatar I used to have, and I didn't even do it on purpose. Dx

@Suo- For this particular challenge, my favorites of those are Insomnia and Leprosy (I also really like Black Death), although I think you could do without the 'z' bubble on the insomnia one. After all, she wouldn't be snoring, would she? ;)

I think Pyro and Insomniac are my favorites.

For the insomniac one, I kind of have the z in the bubble like they're saying they want sleep. lol

And yeah, i'm totally undecided. I like all the ones you guys mentioned, too
Now I just have to figure out which one applies to this the best and makes the most sense. :x Not to mention that I could do a decent description for.
