So, my roommate has taken it upon herself to do a birthday thing for me on Wednesday. She asked me and I awkwardly said alright and emailed her the list of people I wanted to come (only five, total), but then she hasn't actually emailed any of these people. I don't particularly care about having a birthday thing, but it doesn't make sense for her to claim she'll plan something, then put it off until the last minute when everyone will already have plans.

@Cami - I know a few people like that myself lol. Maybe you should confront her about it?

I had told one of my friends (who asked if I wanted to do something) that my roommate would be emailing him about a thing she was planning, and then he emailed me today that he had more time than expected and to let him know what time my thing was.

So, I just asked my roommate if she'd emailed my people, and she said not yet. And I asked why not and didn't she think it was kind of late since it's two days away, and she got annoyed and said she hasn't had time. Like, genuinely annoyed and she'd been busy and it takes an awfully lot of time to write an email and send it to 5 people. <<,,

I know it's not some surprise thing because I've already told her I don't like surprises. To which she responded that I was weird. <<,, She'd originally been planning to do a surprise thing, but one of our mutual friends that she was talking to about it told her to ask me.

Quick poll! Who here does like surprise parties and who here does not like surprise parties?

I have actually never had a suprise party thrown for me, so I wouldn't quite know. ^^;;
I think it might be really nice to have people be sweet and throw a suprise party, but I think it would also be rather bothersome because there are many things that could conflict with it. Not dressed very well like you'd want to for a party, perhaps. Could already have plans. Maybe just really not in a mood to be around people. And lots more reasons. So, I couldn't say that i'd find it all that amazing, but i'm not totally opposed...And that probably didn't help at all. ><;;

My main issue is the sort of dishonesty involved in it. Like, when Danielle threw a surprise party for her dad, she told him that she was going to take him out to his favorite restaurant and asked him to pick her up at 6:30, but when he came to pick her up it was a surprise party. Personally, I would have been disappointed we weren't going to my favorite restaurant. It's not that I would be unhappy about the party at my place with people I know and love, but I wouldn't like that it wasn't what I planned for.

Personally i don't like surprises either. If someone told me they were taken me somewhere special and we didn't end up going, i'd be disappointed.

Well...that's an awful way to hide a surprise.
xD

I'd be like "Oh, come over here later on, kay? I need to give you a present."
Or something.
xD

Man, no scores. T______________T
I'm depressed.

Having just reread Suona's post, the not dressed right part struck me. XD I hadn't considered that before, but that would totally be a factor for me. If I knew I was going to have a lot of friends and stuff over, I'd do my hair and makeup and pick my clothes carefully, but I wouldn't if I was just going over to a friend's place to get a present. And then I'd be all self-conscious about how I looked.

I was all excited to come home today, cause I was like "SCORES'LL BE POSTED"
What a disappointment. T-T
Good thing sort of though, cause I need to get more gold. xD;
The later the challenge starts, the more time I'll have to get gold. P:

@ Cami - Exactly! :x
I would probably be all rundown from a long day and just have my hair as it was and same clothes from that day. I'd feel self conscious the whole time and want to go wash up and look nicer.

I also dont particularly like big crowds. For some reason when i'm with a group of people, they have this tendency to surround me. O_o;; And I mean, they actually just circle around me or crowd closely together. I dont know why, and they dont even notice! But it makes me uncomfortable because I dont really like having people to my back, and I prefer that people dont invade my space much unless they're someone that I like. :x

I'm not sure. Depends on if I can think of something fun to do for a contest that'll be fairly easy for anyone to enter. :'

I'm not especially fond of them in the first place. A surprise party would not go over well for me. >_> I don't like surprises. For the most part, I'd prefer planning out my day/week ahead and if I were told, "Hey, show up over here and I'll give you a cupcake and a prezzie." I'd be like, "Okay, that'll be around an hour. I can go home after and watch my show/rp with my friend. So I'll tell her I'll be on around such'n'such time...."

My workmates/friends used to joke that you have to schedule outings with me a minimum of two days in advance.... Which is fairly accurate. D:

By the way, my roommie sent the email, and one of my five people called all upset to tell me she couldn't make it, and another can't make it until an hour late.

I'm okay with surprises in terms of the venue or activity, but like CK, my schedule is never blank, so you'd have to book the necessary time slot in advance on a first-come-first-serve basis. For instance, a good way to throw a surprise party (in my opinion) would be to have someone ask me to hang out for a movie and dinner, and then spring the crowd on me or change the location/activity, etc. However, if you plan on taking up 3 hours of my time, don't give me the impression that it will only last an hour because chances are I will schedule something right after that hour. XD"

I dont like being in the limelight, so for me to walk into a room full of people who are all staring me down is really very unnerving. They threw me a surprise party once.....I turned around and walked back out the door.....I was sick......I vomitted in the garden...

AND SEIKI *whines* I wanted scores.......T,T

Although....I hope no one hates me for them.

Seiki hasn't even been absent for more than a day yet. :) I'm sure we'll see the score(s) soon.

:sweat: And I'm not too confident over my entry, but I did my best, so I'm satisfied.

Nope. My clock says it was yesterday at 10:33 PM. Thats almost a day for me.

Doesn't mean she put it up at exactly that point, but thats just when she said she would.

EDIT: Note that its 9:40 PM for me right now.
