Lol, thanks Su, though I don't have anything black to put at the feet right now... it's driving me crazy that it's not balanced xD

Happy belated birthday Cami! :boogie:

I liked the health care reform article btw. It's very down-to-business, which I appreciated. I hadn't looked at the bill myself, and have been wondering what all was involved in it. There are pros and cons to the whole reform deal, but I know I personally am happy about the preexisting conditions bit in the bill. Both my boyfriend and I have preexisiting conditions now, and he would definitely be denied healthcare coverage if he tried to get it now on his own. Luckily for me, I have employer-paid health insurance, which is a godsend. I don't even have to pay a monthly charge for it. I just have to pay a deductible ($1,000) if I spend more than $1,000 in a year -- which doesn't take long when it comes down to it. Health care is ridiculously expensive!

Cami, I also liked the article <3

Cora, why are you worried about Seiki? Has he been absent for a while? (totally out of the loop)

For almost two days now, I wouldn't be worried about a two day absence but he's been very strict about deadlines....or trying to be....and well....the new challenge should have been completed by tommarrow.

Yeah, I wouldn't eat horse and other uncommon animals, but that wasn't quite what I meant. I mean that I like wont eat cow tongue and weird stuff like that. I have my boundaries. Haha.

Some people do eat cats. I don't know about dogs.

My uncle hunts deer regularly. Called my parents once and asked if they wanted a deer he shot. They said no.

You know what's weird? Aunts and uncles who marry into your family when you're old enough to remember them not being around. I still think of the man my mom's sister divorced as my uncle, but it feels awkward to call her new husband my uncle.

What's wrong with veal? That's just meat from a young cow. @[email protected] I mean, if you're not opposed to eating beef, what makes veal so different? =3

I know people who eat both cats and dogs, as well as silk worms and bees. I personally think it's incredibly gross, but in some places, I doubt it's considered weird at all. If I had to name one place where eating dogs might be fairly normal, I would point to Guangdong province in China.

I heard salami was originally made from horse meat, so I'm not sure that's necessarily weird either. Goat, or rather mutton, is common where I'm from.

When it comes to game, I like venison, pigeon and quail. Rabbit meat smells terrible and doesn't taste much better; I took one bite and swore it off for life. Crocodile meat is really tough, not a fan. Ostrich is pretty good, but not spectacular. Snake though, if cooked right, is fantastic.

...uh, I tried the meat of a number of wild animals when I was in South Africa, so I guess I've had my fair share of "weird," but I still adamantly refuse to eat canines, felines, rodents and insects/arachnids. That's where I really draw the line. I can't stomach the very idea.

Ah, I've actually had some really good ostrich/emu meat. I think it's all in the cooking, lol.

You want to know what's weird? When you're in Africa and you get asked if you'd like ostrich eggs for breakfast. I actually only had that happen to me once and I was like, "I'm...not sure I want to know what that tastes like..." XD"

Oops, sorry Cora! Are you a vegetarian? =O

Have I asked you why you are a vegetarian, Cora? I'm just curious because people have a lot of reasons for not eating meat, and I was wondering what yours is. =3

Cora: D: Eggplant parmesian is my favorite food! I make it all the time!

...now you're just messing with me, aren't you?

Lol, well, I understand the need to eat animals to most people but I dont feel right in killing another creature to sustain myself when there are other means of doing so.

@Cami- but it works ooooh so well.

lol, in actuallity I am really making eggplant parm for my husband and myself at the moment. But the fact that it messes with you is an added bonus.

I like eggplant parmesan when it's not fried. XD"

Too late, Cami! Why don't you eat meat? I have a lot of vegetarian friends, so I'm sure I've heard most of the reasons before, but I'm always really curious as to why people choose to be vegetarian, most probably because I don't think I could do it.

Hmm...plants are living creatures too, so what makes them different to you, Cora? =3

I find meat gross. I always have. It's not so much the death of another creature but the fact that what I'm eating is that other creature. Bones, fat, tendons, redder spots that look like they could be blood related, it all just makes me feel a little sick. When I did eat meat, I spent more time removing any parts of the meat that looked unpure that actually eating. So, when I started college and had a dining room full of food to choose from, I cut meat out of my diet.
