I secretly find it amusing that you and Juru/Jelly (I forget which... or if it's both...) recolor items. Very awesome, to be honest. I respect you guys for doing it, since it seems like such a pain in the ass. :rofl:

I pretty much love every common this time around. Dunno what the userbase at large will make of it, but I know some of these pieces will be useful. If I hadn't spent so long on them, I'd be really looking forward to using them. Now I'm as close to sick of them as you can be while still intending to buy them. >_> (EDIT TO ADD: And the set I'm talking about is even the set this time around that I designed. Which makes it worse.) <-- I mean, I mean, "hypothetically" if I had done such a thing. >_>

All three of us do recolors. xD It is a pain in the ass. I think the other two have the system down better, tho. I make it difficult on myself by using two different image programs because I understand one of them better than the other.

I'm hoping for some offbeat oddities. I love quirky items personally, so if it's anything like the fun stuff from the past two events, I'm game. :D Seriously, these past two events have been the most fun I've ever had. And actually, the Halloween one was also fantastic. So I guess I'd have to say the past three. Seriously, though. I'm so amazed by how far the events have come since '07. They used to be, um, quite... uneventful. In my opinion, anyway.

And I'd shoot myself in the foot if I had to do anything pixel-related to begin with, honestly. D: I mean, dressing up in pixels is fine by me, but... DOING THE WORK BEHIND IT ALL!? I'd die. :gonk: Too complex for my poor little soul.

Much appreciated as I'm going to be doing something IRL today (probably leaving in an hour or so) that has depressed me for the last two or three days.

I doubt it'll make the news, but maybe it will. Westboro Baptist Church is in town ready to spew hatred. I'm going to honor the fallen soldier whose funeral they're going to crash. I'm not sure how far my involvement is going to be. I could be staring those hate monkeys down from a foot away. I may not even see them. It depends on what happens when I get down to the meeting point, I suppose. Information on what's meant to be happening is sort of scattered.

I'm not sure if I'll be "allowed" to go, though. I woke up with one of my eyes nearly swollen shut and it only seems to be getting worse. ::has an ice pack on it now::

My mom suggests I don't go and since I don't want people to think I got hit, I might not. I know there are people who will be there who are only looking for an excuse to start a fight.

My heart tells me I need to be there, but my head says it might not be a good idea. This is really frustrating and upsetting for me.

CK, that's not a situation I would ever want to be stuck in. The WBC is a horrible organization to be involved in, even if just as a bystander at a funeral. I'm sorry you have to be stuck in the middle of all that conflict. Its really not fair to the family of the soldier, and this group is fighting to hurt people emotionally and physically if it comes to that. I hope whatever decision you make will work out for you <3

Honestly, I hate any groups with extremist strains. I say 'strains,' because some groups are less... virulent than others. But the extremism is still there.

I'm also against crap like the Tea Party Movement for that same reason. :sweat: But the WBC is probably the first on my list of do-not-want. Just awful.

(Truth be told, I think it's just overall bad how evil these "church" people are - if they didn't target mainly fallen soldiers, they'd still be awful in my book. Even if they were attacking pedophiles.)

In the end, I wasn't allowed to go. My mom had a list of reasons and I couldn't drive myself because my eye is swollen nearly shut. I hope to hell they didn't go either and sat stewing in the juices of their own hatred somewhere lame like a parking lot. EDIT: I will edit to say that I'm really upset about not going. It was important to me and circumstances shat upon that.

I'd really rather not talk politics.

I'm a Christian and I was raised Baptist. I gotta say, if they are going around spreading hatred and attacking people, then they aren't really Christian or Baptist at all. The Bible tells us to love all people, even if we don't agree with them, and to reach out to them with that love. Hatred never helped anyone. That's all I'm going to say on the matter.

I hate politics too.

Hope your eye gets better soon CK. What's wrong with it? What caused it to swell up?

I found out today that the WBC didn't even show up (I hope they didn't go to someone else's funeral, though...) and that there was standing room only at the funeral. So I feel somewhat relieved. Still upset about not going to pay my respects, but that was just how the ball bounced.

I think I'm having some sort of allergic reaction to one of my cats or some sort of pollens she picks up when she goes outside to play. That night she'd jumped on my pillow when I scooped her up out of where I slept. I changed my pillowcase and took an allergy pill and my eye is less swollen today. I can see out of it anyway. :x And my cheek isn't swollen either. I still look like I've been punched, though. lul.

re: politics - I can't escape from it all day. I can't even read some of my favorite books anymore because it's so easy to see the political slant of the author in it and feel like it's being shoved down my throat. No side is completely right. And people who are in the middle, like I am, end up feeling attacked by both sides.

You guys, I had a really hard time with putting up the scores this round. It ended up being a tie and I had to figure out who I thought did a better job overall throughout the entire season and that's what took me so long to get the scores up. I was debating with myself for hours about it up until I had to leave for my brother's graduation today and its just been a tough decision.

I ended up choosing CK, not because her avatars were better, but because I think she approached the challenges with an open mind and really just tried some things that people don't really do with their avatars. Silver made some really lovely avatars this time, but some of them seemed to be a little common and I hold this contest looking for people to come up with new things so that we can be inspired.

Great job to everyone who participated in this cycle, especially CK and Silver for making it to the top.

CK, let me know which item you want from the November 08 set for your prize.

Oh, and I keep forgetting to update the theme for the next cycle haha. I'm going to be theming the challenges around Broadway!~
