Hufflepuff is so the most boring house of the four.
Even it's animal mascot is boring.

I don't which house I'd want to be in; Gryffindor seems cool, but Slytherin is awesome. Plus, it's colours are green and silver! <3 What could go wrong with that?

@Face- Yeah, they prolly all cheat on the surveys.

Also, I've found that all judges have different preferences. I'll just keep doing things my own special weird way. ;D

I'm a Hufflepuff/Ravenclaw on all the quizzes I've taken. Though mostly just Hufflepuff.

I prefer shorter descriptions. If they get too long I kind of start to tune out in the middle of reading them.

I honestly think a description can help you out in the long run. :ninja: Just don't outline your FAULTS in the description! (As in, "LIKE, I TRIED X AND Y ITEMS, BUT Z WAS CHEAPER!" and whatnot. Don't set me up for disappointment. :illgetu: )

...I'm nuts, though. :insane:

WHAT DID YOU CALL ME!?

And I agree - don't make too long of a description. Just... something more than two-three words is preferable. In my opinion. :ninja:

Haha, my next description will be: "Listen, sorry, I know my entry sucks, but just take some pity on me, okay? I mean, you'd have to be mentally retarded to really like my entry, but just pretend, okay? Again, sorry it's so awful." JUST FOR YOU, FACCIE.

DON'T THROW BRICKS, THEY CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY FACADE!
Sheesh. That's a hazard.

I think I might use different tactics in descriptions than yours, Anna. I shall suck up to the judges and tell the how much I love them. Then victory shall be mine >:-D

Oh, and I do no quizzes to do with Harry Potter because I think all the books are terrible, and the movies are even worse.

Facade: I think an avatar should stand on it's own. XD I haaaated long descriptions as a judge and would stop reading them after the first few lines.

So, if you want long descriptions, I'm afraid you'll be regularly disappointed by mine. If you can't tell what I'm going for with a short description, than I failed as a creator.

re: Harry Potter Houses...

When I take those quizzes, I'm almost always in Ravenclaw and second most often in Gryffindor. I'm actually not sure if I would like to be in any of the four, because this is how they're written:

- Gryffindor = For the HEROES. The people who fight INJUSTICE. And they'll be happy to bend RULES if the ends justify the means! Full of people who are totally LEOS. They like to be in charge and get attention!!!! ((I say this and mention that I am myself a Leo.)) Also, they are a fairly insular group of people. Anyone who is not immediately in front of them tends to be ignored/forgotten, even if they're friends/housemates, if they're not within their "core" group of friends. What's going on with Neville? No one cares. He's not one of Harry's best friends after all. He's only interesting when he's right in front of them. Maybe.

- Slytherin = For the WICKED. These are SELFISH people who seek FAME and FORTUNE. Mostly fortune. And POWER. They would sell their own mother as the lowest whore in the worst brothel in hell if it means they'd have a little more fame/fortune/power. Assuming their mother (most likely also a Slytherin) hasn't sold them off first for the same reasons. You can't TRUST them because even the best of them is only out for THEMSELVES. And their family/closest friends/House - IF it suits their ultimate goals. AMBITION is EVIL. And also RACIST and CLASSIST.

- Ravenclaw = PRETENTIOUS. PRETENTIOUS. PRETENTIOUS. The only reason they're not SLYTHERINS is because they prefer power as what can be stored in the MIND. They only tolerate GRYFFINDORS because they're the jocks of the four Houses and are useful in any power struggles that need to have done with. Someone must prove their intellectual WORTH dozens of times a day. You must CONSTANTLY PROVE that you're smart to earn their respect. That is why they have a riddle password for their dorms. And then you get to stand there like a dumbass and a fool until someone smart enough to solve the riddle comes around. So your Housemates will know that you're not SMART ENOUGH to be a Ravenclaw so they can keep an eye on you.

- Hufflepuff = LEFTOVERS. If you're not brave/full of yourself enough for Gryffindor, not ambitious/evil enough for Slytherin, and not pretentious/smart enough to be Ravenclaw, you get shoved here so at least you have SOMEWHERE to go. This is where the most TRUSTING PEOPLE go. They are probably not very BRIGHT. You can talk them into doing HARD WORK because they TRUST YOU to be fair and aren't SMART ENOUGH to realize that you're not doing as much work as they are. They bumble around with the least charismatic animal mascot and the best they can say for their House for a very long time was, "Remember Cedric Diggory! The best of us all! Now we're total losers. Damn."

That's how the houses read to me anyway...

If you ignore the precedents set by the series and just go based on House qualities, the House you'd least like to be in is Slytherin, because they have no special positive qualities. I think you'd want to be in Hufflepuff (hard-working and loyal), then Ravenclaw (intelligent), then Gryffindor (brave). According to the qualities looked for, Slytherin is just full of ambitious people who apparently don't find hard-work, loyalty, intelligence or bravery attractive. Presumably someone who has the positive attributes of ambition would choose to be in one of the other three Houses first, right?

I suppose overall, I'd have to go with Gryffindor because I'm too much of a Leo to appreciate being made to feel stupid when I made mistakes (Ravenclaw) or be mistaken for stupid by just being a part of a group that is stereotyped that way (Hufflepuff). I see nothing attractive about Slytherin other than their color scheme.

......

Yep. Tl;dr, I'm sure.

You know, I was really disappointed that the series didn't end with the houses being done away with. A big part of the books, especially the last couple, was how the houses divide the students and kind of make enemies of them. And they should be all one happy family! And work together! Everyone!

And then the houses continue with the same exact stereotypes when they have kids.

I have to agree with Cami. My one great fault with the final Harry Potter book was that the houses still stood when it was all said and done. They really ought to have been abolished when Voldemort was defeated. It seemed like it would be the most logical next step but nothing ever came of it.

I actually never read any of the books
I heard the first one on the auto book voice thing from when my cousin, aunt, and I were driving to and from Idaho to visit my grandparents. But thats all. Seen all the movies that are out, though.

I totally agree with everything being said here (except what Su just said; I've read the first 4 books four times each and the other three once). Basically, Harry didn't even really save the world, he just saved his friends, since NOTHING CHANGED after Voldie died. Dx Selfish prick.

I enjoyed the books, honestly. It's a really interesting and fun universe, but a lot of things just don't get carried to the next logical step.

I do think it makes sense that they have "Houses". That way everyone is part of a group when they come in young and scared and they sort of have a nice "family" to go through their school life with while they're separated from (the majority of, most likely) their home-life family. They'll have mentors and so forth that way to teach them the ins and outs of a very overwhelming school. Remember how it was for Harry when he came to Hogwarts - he had to learn about trick steps that might plunge him down the steps up to his waist and not to go down certain halls and so forth. Having a built-in mentor system is very logical and necessary. I'm surprised there aren't first years dying all over the damn place with such a dangerous castle.

But I agree that the four houses of the founders should have been reorganized at the end of the series. And that the school should have had *group* goals too. Like during the Triwizard Tournament, if it weren't for Cedric versus Harry, the entire school would have been united in its hopes for winning. If they had something like how American high schools have school versus school events (ex: sports, scholar's bowl, band competitions; etc), and the House system, they would have had outlets for competitive spirit and stay unified as a school as a whole.

Seeing as it's easier for wizards to travel long-distances than it is for people in the real world, I don't see why they couldn't have inter-school Quidditch matches, or wizard's bowl or whatever on the weekends. Just take the Knight Bus. u_u;
