I think its good that Arizona passed the law. I realize that it sucks trying to go through the stupid process they have for becoming a citizen, but its better than us having a ton of illegal immigrants here. I live in California, and I can say that we have quite a few around here.

Keyori: I think the issue is more one of racism, where it's being assumed that anyone who looks Mexican is an illegal immigrant. I don't live anywhere near the Mexican border, and I have a friend (who does look Latino, but was born and raised in America, only knows English, and has absolutely no Latino heritage) who has had people yell at her, "Learn English!" And she's like, "Well, I didn't say anything and also I speak English perfectly."

I'm Mexican-American with some fairly light skin, so people are actually surprised. That sounds really terrible, what happens to your friend, though. I hate people that think it's okay to say things like that. ._.

That truly opened my eyes. I've never been anti-illegal immigrants, nor have I ever understood WHY people are against them. Sure, whatever, blame your economical worries. But don't discriminate. Don't. Just... don't.

:sweat: Honestly, if our immigration process was ideal, I'd feel a little more understanding of the hoopla. But since it isn't, I won't even bother listening to the constant ragging on illegal immigrants. :|

And, I feel the same way.

Plus there's the thing they're trying to pull now where, if your parents are "illegals," they'll deny you access to your own birth records, even though you're a citizen (which is constitutionally guaranteed). So basically you'd get kicked out of the country because you can't prove you're a citizen, even though you are. Which is the country's fault, and not yours (last I checked, no one picks their parents).

UMM i think it's because they steal all our stuff & try to claim famous people & things as their own lol. But i think mostly it's because of rugby lol. I don't hate Australians on a whole though.
