My novel does have magic/powers, but they are mostly elemental powers. Not like in harry potter where they can have owls flying around to send notes. There's no other way to get across the water other then the old fashioned ship. My book does have animals, but their more the mythical kind, like unicorns and dragons(dragons don't listen to people), and, eventually they will see centaurs when they get to the mainland since those never come over to the island.

Wow, that sounds pretty impressive how you can count like that. When I hand write I can't write a word and count it at the same time :(. Thats impressive.

Nah, it doesn't sound that weird. I once read a book with humans, vampires and giant snow leopards. That was an odd mix.

Well I'm glad I could be of some help, even though I was just going by what I've read in other books. You definately want to have it be believable if you're thinking of publishing.

Well, I don't count it while I write, that's not exactly what I meant. It's just that I'll be counting the words and I'll zone out and somehow my brain will still be counting, it's so odd. I have to point at the words with my pen though, otherwise I loose track of which word I'm on, since I count them so fast.

...I miss the headstart... thus missing the motivation...

Well, I've been planning on doing this for awhile but low and behold the month comes and I forget. So now I'm 7 days behind. Today I managed to write 1,617 words today. So tomorrow I will have to catch up. Oh well, I'll either do it or not.

I don't really understand why they do it November either. I'd prefer doing it during the summer when I have nothing else to do.

The only holiday we have in November is Veteran's Day and Thanksgiving. We still have school on Veteran's day and Thanksgiving isn't until the end where we're cramming to get done and avoiding all of the family that comes over for the holiday.

I didn't have school on Veteran's Day, which happens to be today. And I only got slightly over 1,000 words in today.

I think they said somewhere that they have it when it is cold so that you don't want to go out and do things. But I have to agree this is like the worst month for me. The school semester is winding down and I have like 8 big things to get done or fail classes and then have to go threw this year all over again.

Sizzla, your friends are so smart. I wish I had thought of doing short stories. That would have been so much easier but oh well.

Huh... maybe it's because I'm in the South? I'm in college to, but my little sister in elementary and she had school today as well.

Eh..I would be more apt to write over the summer though. I could go to the beach and just sit in the sun and write, as apposed to in November when this semester is coming to an end and we keep getting all these projects to do.

Which reminds me I need to go write since I only have 800 words for the day. O.o;;;

November is more like a holiday month for school in South East Asia. lol. My cousins is having school Holiday for the whole December month and half of November.

Since South East Asia don't hae 4 seasons. XD

they just advertised it yesterday, but did anyone else try out the 'write or die' web toy that they mentioned? I actually did last night and got a lot done! And it was a lot of fun. Aside from being motivating, it makes it feel a little more like a game of beat the clock. :D
