Hey guys ... how did you all do?
I don't think I've ever written anything close to 50,000 words so I can't imagine how long it would take for me to write xD

I managed to finish my novel with 50,399 words. The story isn't exactly finished, but I'm happy with how far I made it.

I feel I should pop in here and congratulate everyone who participated in NaNoWriMo this year~ I was going to trying myself for the first time this year, but school completely ate every part of me :/ Maybe I'll try to make it up some other month that I'm not writing term papers...

Anyway! Again, congrats everyone :D Good job.

Thanks AbsoluntionBot, I'm sure everyone else appreciates it as well.

If you're interested I found some links to sites that do the NaNo challenge in Aug and Jul. I've put them in the first post. :)

Awesome, thanks! :D I might be able to do the July one, seeing as I'd be out of school by then. Thanks for the tip!

You're welcome. I'm glad they could be helpful for someone. I'm still debating on whether or not I want to participate in a summer version.

Yes, I'm just wondering if I'll be mentally ready to take on the challenge again in half a year.

I was actually looking at another event called NaNoMangO that's held in November and during the summer. Where the challenge is two draw 30 comic pages in thirty days. Seeing as I'm turning my NaNo novel into a comic, I'd like to try that.

Ah, yeah, I know the admin over on Avaricia did that this year, seeing as her site is based around her comic. I'm not sure I could do that myself -- I like drawing, and I've been thinking about turning a couple stories into comics, but I'm totally lazy when it comes to drawing XD I don't think I could do it.

Lol, yeah, that'd be nice. I dunno, I might just do it by myself if all else fails. Yeah, I won't have the fun of the whole support community, but at least I'll have done it at some point XD

I couldn't do a big challenge every month, I think that would take way to much out of me.

Not to do it every month.
But challenge available every month, up to the person to choose which month they are free to take on challenge in their best time.

wow... now a comic? XD

Oh, I see. That sounds much more reasonable.

Yep, it's the one in my signature. I've started over with the end of NaNoWriMo, so there is only one page that is up to date with the story. I would advise you not read the old pages if you go by there. They are awful.

I know I mentioned it a few pages back, but I think I'm going to start up a MenNoWriMo challenge - Menewsha Novel Writing Month. I'll set it up in a week or two so that everyone can star planning for January.

November is just a tough month. I know that I'm always busy at that time of year, especially with final exams coming up. So setting up a bunch of smaller challenges throughout the year sounds like a really fun idea.

Sounds cool. I hope that this gets a good turn out, since so many people were inconvienced in November.

Lol, that's probably true. Something always comes up, that's why I'd always figured I'd try to do it on my own time. I might be up for something in January, if that's when you were planning on having the Menewsha challenge, though classes are going to be starting up for me again then :/

Well, I'm gonna be out of class in January until the 12th, but I don't have another story idea just yet. Well I do, but it's not nearly developed enough for me to make it anywhere.

I actually tried NaNoWriMo for the first time this year, since I heard about it in September. I'm an English major with a focus in Creative Writing (for the time being), so I figured it would be a good experience, yada yada...

Well, I sort of stopped on the 15th. Literally, was typing for a while, stopped, and said to myself, "I'm not going to do this anymore." Then and there. Just closed the document and went on with my life... haven't opened it since. I feel bad; I had the whole story plotted out and everything. I think I might still work on it.

Whether or not I'll be doing it next year is another story...

Does anyone else have the problem now of an insanely short story (35,000, perhaps 40,000 if I add the complete ending.) that needs a total rewrite/ i have been avoiding it like the plague now. I just know that it will go horribly wrong. In fact, it has.

My story has magic in it, and I've decided that i need to completely restructure all the power usage in it. I've decided to add in another character, and I need to figure out how she fits with the protagonist. I need to fill out my female protagonist and make the twin switch more real. Finally, I need to figure out what to do with the girlfriend back hom and how Ben's (the protagonist) father fits into this. I'm ready to print this story out and shoot it into tiny pieces. Man....

Oh yes, I have a story that I finally sat down and slammed out over the course of a week or two during the summer (no idea how long it is -- it's hand written rather than typed). But, yes, I need to go through and basically double the length it is now. I really want to, but I think about the task at hand and I just cower *shudder* I don't see it getting done any time soon, especially now that I've started and uber epic fanfic, lol.
