But a plastic tree is SHINY!~ I like the lights. I only have mine partially decorated, but I guess it's staying that way because neither me nor my mom have gone to the effort of putting more ornaments. I want decorated sugar cookies now.

Oh we have lights, but no plastic tree, too much of fuss and no room for a tree.
With a gingerbread christmas tree, it'll be gone in seconds...yummy!

Nope! Nook! *grins* It's an ebook reader made by Barnes and Noble. Like a Kindle, only expandable. *grins*

Well, I still have all my physical books too, but I spend two hours a day on the subway and it's a lot easier to carry around my Nook than my library. *grins* I'm not a quick reader at all, but I do love to read when I get the chance to.

I'm reading the Last Sacrifice by Richelle Mead, and i think it'll take all up 4-6 hours to read all of it!

Telly:: But you can carry like, thousands of eBooks on this thing! I usually carry two or more physical books with me at any given time, so I really want an eReader. I'm a dyslexic bookworm. Which some people don't understand. But...just because I get words screwed up a lot, I've still always loved reading and writing so much. I hate math though, which apparently fits in with the dyslexia. I didn't even know what dyslexia was until I was like 13 and had a dyslexic math teacher, and I was like "Hey..." and then everyone was like "Yeah...you are totally dyslexic."

Angel:: I'm not a quick reader either (at least I don't think so lol) but I'm pretty much constantly reading anyway. :]

I prefer a manageable book, i'm not a constant reader, but when i do get bored when mum is busy doing something when i'm out with her, then i would read a book and other things til she is done XD

Ereaders are the best. Especially when you're on the go or sick. You don't have the problem of running into the end of a book and needing another one, because there's always another book on the ereader. *grins* *pets her Nook*

Mm, i'm a traditionalist, i like having the hard copy...like i said, i'm not a constant reader, so i have with me when i do go out, my ds games and dsi xl + another ds just in case i use up all the battery and my ipod to entertain myself with and my netbook if i'm that completely bored with my mum's never-ending undeciding ways >.<

Thanks for somewhat keeping my thread alive in my absence! <3 <3 <3

I personally prefer hard copies of books like Telstel. I think it's that I'm surrounded by technology and digital stuff all the time that I feel like getting away from electronics sometimes. So when I read a book, I really like having an actual physical copy of it. Additionally, I can't perfume an e-reader, rofl.

Hard copies > e-reading

Always. Reading on the screen makes me skim through them without actually reading properly so I miss out on a lot of words. xD

This is so true! <3 Also, there's something quite nostalgic about old books that digital copies can never quite replace. XD

Hard-copy books are better than eBooks, no question.
Digital everything makes Kita sad.
Don't get me wrong though, I still want an eReader.

For those of you that think I've abandoned hard-copy books all together... :P There's a borders in Manhattan that I stumbled across that's going out of business, I got four books. *grins* A fiction book I can't get ebook style, two bento books, and a quilling book. :P And I contemplated WAAAAAYYYYYYYYYY more than that, but unfortunately have limited funds. Four stories of books and it's all on sale.

Truthfully though, most of what I read on my ereader is fanfiction from the internet. So I got he ereader to make it MORE like reading a book. No back-light equals a whole lot less eye strain.

That's a good idea for reading fanfiction, I must say. Maybe I should think about that, since fanfiction kinda swallows my life.

The bookstore my flatmate works at is on sale too. I didn't see anything of interest that I don't already own though. =3

A lot of bookstores are going out of business, apparently. :/
We just had two (chains) and one closed....well, a while ago I guess. We have some little ones, but for some reason, it scares me to go in them alone.
I'm strange....

So it seems, unfortunately. People don't value books as much as they used to. D:

I like small bookstores, personally. They tend to be a bit cheaper and have books you don't often see elsewhere. =3

It makes me sad.

I know, and I keep trying to get myself to go in one.
But I had a nightmare once where I was murdered when I was alone behind some bookshelves.
I'm serious. I don't even like going into the quiet secluded part of the library.

Oh my, that sounds horrific. Well, you could always have some friends go with you. Surely they wouldn't mind stopping in with you if you're passing a bookstore. =3

You know, if I let all the nightmares I've had of dying in certain places deter me, I don't think I'd ever go anywhere. I probably wouldn't even be able to lie in bed, haha. I've dreamed about myself dying more times than I can count, and all things considered, being murdered behind bookshelves seems a lot more plausible than some of the scenarios I've had. lol:

Well, no they wouldn't, but we never seem to pass one at the time.

Its scary because it could actually happen.
Lol I mean like, a teddy bear is not likely to climb through my bedroom window and stab me to death. You know? :XD

Oh well, maybe you will someday soon.

True. Well, I suppose being stabbed in an alley or getting my leg caught in seaweed and drowning are fairly possible too, but no, I don't think a teddy bear will come stab you to death any time soon. XDDD"
