Well, I don't have enough items to have any dressing quirks as of yet,

but when I'm using the MAC,
I cannot stand making an outfit without a theme.
So far I've made:
• Sky Pirate
• Victorian femme fatale
• Sexy Sergeant Uniform (much more difficult than it sounds. :angry:
Why don't we have any pencil skirts! D: )

I just can't make an avi without a theme.
I've tried, and failed.
Not possible.

I use event items as a crutch. D=

when i build my avatar,
i just want everything to match
but in a way or another,
i end up adding something that doesn't
because i think that if it doesn't match,
it will be the only item on the spotlight

I tend to use event items or buy clothing sets. Then after the "newness" wears off I break them up and try to figure out how to play with them. I've been trying to be more creative lately - it's really fun!

I love my head...I just wish I could make the eyes match better. None of the greens is exactly right.

On Gaia, I just keep adding junk. Every evolving item that I get, I have to put one of the poses in. I end up a real mess. One day I'll strip it all down and start over.

Here, I tend to keep most things the same, just change the color of my tights. I really like the background though. I'm glad I finally found that. I love the sun peeking over my head like that.

I like to dress for holidays and in between I make costumes I would want in my own closet (if in the real world you could buy clothes with tetris gold.)

I agree that your background does have a nice touch.

I wish that there were more backgrounds to choose from.
They should even have a shop for them...

Wouldn't it be nice to be by a lake, or have spring flowers around... or walking on the beach by an ocean... (or am I getting carried away?)

Oh I love the idea of a shop w/backgrounds. You should definately suggest that.

I have a thing where I like dressing mine up in realistic clothing
yes I know having panda's grouped around you and wings on your back
isn't that realistic but it kinda could be ^^ if you used plushies and dressed
up in fake wings haha

Also especially on menewsha I like using as many Monthly items and Event items
that I can for some reason. If it works with each other as mine kinda does at the
moment then all well and good but I hate it how some sites have event items and
things that just don't go with anything ><

So at the moment its getting into winter for us (I'm Australian) and so I'm dressing mine in theme with that *nods* and I also have my avi's on whatever site it is to
have a similar shade and length of hair as I do in real life

I'm not sure if I have any distinguishable habits when dressing my avatar... I'll have to start paying more attention to what I'm doing when I'm playing with my avi.
I don't have the MAC... because I always feel bad about downloading things to my boyfriends computer... so I don't really have a pre-determined goal in mind when dressing myself.
I guess when an idea strikes me for an avatar, I'll start with what I already have. Then I will adjust my hair and buy any commons to compliment it all. I guess I like to be a little matchy-matchy.... but I'm not overly anal about it.
OH and I like pretty pixels. I'm not a fan of overly cutsie stuff.

edit: I just thought of something... most avi's i create will feature my Queens Crown.
This was the first item I quested back in 07 and even though I only got it for something like 750g, that was a LOT back then, and I really do enjoy it as an item.

Well, I don't have enough clothes here yet to worry about it, but on other avatar sites I frequent, I tend to try to match as best as I can and cover as much of the avatar as possible (usually because my avatar's skin color doesn't match the rest of the outfit).

For some reason, I don't like to mess with my avatar's hair or eye color. It always seems to me that I need to work around those and get the outfits that work best. Probably because in real life, I don't mess around with hair color or eye color either.

I tend to always put on my Raven Headwinds and silver heart earrings first, no matter what outfit I decide to make and no matter if they don't match. Only very rarely do I not have them on.
I also like having my avie in "smexy" type clothing, somtimes only wearing underwear rather than pants.
I also enjoy belts, legwarmmers, and stocking on my avie. I try to include them into my avie as often as possible with the avie still going for the look I want at the time.
I change my avie around so much. ^_^ There are just too many great items not to! ^_^
Though, I NEVER change my avie's hair, eyes, skin, ears, and mouth. Now that there is the pure white skin and the long elven ears. I LOVE my avie's long, dark purple hair. I wish I had her hair in real life.
I MAC avies that match though, or at least best I can with the old, not up to date MAC that we have. >_<
Yay for being not normal! I know I am not normal. ^_^

My most distinguishable trait is I am infatuated with pink, so please creators give us more pink items!! I build everything around the pink and I tend to favor white, gold, and silver items. In the future perhaps a little bit of brown might be fun for if I ever get the ltd edition birthday cake. (Yum!)

I also am very much in love with characters who have magical abilities, particularly white magic, and have always loved Aeris from day one. In fact if I ever have a little girl she will be named Aeris. I love the white winged CIs and I absolutely love the 'Order' items so please bring us more!

I rarely ever visit shops
but when I do I buy a load of items
and end up using one of them.
Then I sell everything else back for half price. .-.

well I am not really sure. I really do love pink and anything old fashioned looking. If anything is like from the dark ages i buy it and wear it. Anything super cute I also go for. I love soft bunnies and kitties. It is my favorite thing to do.

Unfortunately, it's all springy and cutesy...not amazon warrior-ish.

Maybe I'll buy the frog stuff though. That may be strange....

It's not much of a habit but maybe just a personal preference. I don't like making my avis smile. Half smile maybe or a smirk (like this one) but not the all out toothy smile. I don't know, it just looks better for me.

Well, I certainly changed from my amazon warrior attire for Easter.

I dress my avatar in Lolita fashions. I change my outfits often, I have large collection of Lolita clothes in my invintory.
