But you already have a bunch of commons on your quest list?
I meant the temptation to go to the shops to buy those items. XDD

Do they have a Celes paradi event every year? I know they had one last year, but that was the only one...

We really do need a summer event of some sort.

Fourth of July is a US holiday, so that won't work...

I haven't really participated in a user-run event before...

I like the event items that the site events have.

RyRy - Very true~ Event commons can always be so tempting, haha! XD;
I really hope we do have a Celes Paradi event this year though! 8'O

Suona - I'll try to stop by soon then~
I've just been really busy lately, and another active thread might be too much for me to handle right now. XDD

@ Lura - Well, if you can think of any really good avatars that you've seen around and deserve some recognition then feel free to go there and nominated them. We'd love to see more variety in our nominations then the same people we get time and time again. ^^

And i've nominated you already, so i'll definently vote for you. ^^

Haha, thank you so much again! X'D

And I'll keep my eyes out! Most of the time when I see a really nice avi, I'm lurking, so I just keep my comments to myself, but sometimes I post saying how much I liked the outfit. XD And I have a feeling people will nominate a lot of the ones I've seen around and liked anyway. 8DD

Sorry I've been gone for a few days again! x_x;;
Been really busy with the first week of classes. >.>;;
And org stuff. :x
Lots of things to dooo~ D: </3
I'm literally doing something in the university 6 days a week. @[email protected];;

Just a heads up though, peoplez. =P
I'm gonna be busiest this upcoming July, when it's our org's 16th anniversary, and July is our org's month. ^^;;
Also, I'm helping with the freshmen and some forums this time around. :x
Not to mention my regular classes. D:
SO... yeah. >.>;;

On the bright side though, I love my classes so far? xDD;;
I have a class on Pop Culture, and our first topic will be the effects of the Arcade in Filipino culture, LULZ. xDD;;
... I do not kid. =P

Too lazy to reply to everyone, since most replies are on the previous page. D:
Please excuse my laziness. ;_;
*drifts off to rest*
x_x;;

OK. Rylynne....

Question: Would arcades be different on Fiipino culture than they would be on other cultures? Discuss...

Hmm, I wouldn't think so...? =O
Although, we haven't discussed anything yet, so, I couldn't answer you till I actually have said class on it. xDD;;
So far though, I don't think there's THAT big a difference. =O
It's just that this class I'm taking focuses on Filipino Pop Culture (with it being a class you take in Filipino), so, yeah. :>
I'll get back to you on that once I attend the class (which is on Thursday for me, and probably Wednesday for you xDD). =P <3<3

That will be interesting.

I actually don't know anything about the Philippines, much less about the culture.
It would be interesting to know if it were much different from US.

Well, we have a different culture over here than the US. =P Like, really. xDD;;

Although, there is this prevalent phenomenon here known as the "Colonial Mentality", where Filipinos want to copy the US culture and stuff. ^^;;
It stems from the fact that the US conquered us once after buying us from the Spanish and them acting as our "friends", so we sort of want to be like them...? ^^;; Also because US culture is more liberal and stuff, so we wanna "break free" and everything. xDD;;

But, yeah, we're pretty much close to US culture for now, I think. ^^;;
Just with a shift in priorities and stuff. xDD;;

... sorry to bore you, btw. ^^;;

?? Where did you get the idea that you were boring me?

I find other cultures fascinating...
I think it's terrible that here we have this stupid mentallity that our way is the best way.

I dunno~ @[email protected];; Sometimes stuff like that is boring to people. >.>;;
I'm relieved that you aren't though. ^^;; <3<3

Yeah, other cultures are fascinating indeed. :> I can tell you more if you're interested in our culture, although I wouldn't know where to start. xDD;;

And, well, with the US being the current superpower, it's kinda hard not to want to be like you guys, if you ask me. =P Although, personally, I'm comfortable with the current balance we have here right now of foreign culture and our own traditional one. ^^;; <3<3

Actually I think that there are very few cultures left in the world that are "true" to their own way.

Most of us are an amalgamation of many different cultures.
The US was built on many different cultures after all...
