Wow, lots of people to reply to. @[email protected];;

@ Jean : You like the Harry Potter movies? =O Personally, I find them all right as movies, but as adaptations of the book, they're so hard to follow because they leave a lot of stuff out. >.>;; I know a LOT of movie-only fans who are confused about a lot of things about Harry Potter. ^^;;

@ Rose : You don't like the Chronicles of Narnia? :< I actually love them, from what I've read. ^^;; Then again, maybe it's because I know what happens in the very last book, which has me very "defensive" and all because of the shocking ending which made me sad. ;_; I won't spoil though, because it's a shocking event. xDD;; At least, shocking for me, because it involves my favorite character. ^^;;

@ Cora : I actually thought you were 23 from way back when I first met you (or around early twenties), and so I'm surprised that I was sort of accurate on that. xDD;; <3<3

@ Minnie Mouse : I don't reread the books either when a new movie comes out, which is why I find it so annoying when I do remember things from the book that were changed and etc by the movie, because I don't remember lots of the minor details from the books at all anymore. =\ Especially pairing-wise. xDD;; Because the actors' chemistry with each other is not conducive to the canon pairings, I think, which makes the movies amusing to watch. ^^;; You probably already have an idea what I'm talking about though. 8DD;; <3<3

@ Dark Lady : No worries, I got lost a little there as well, so you're not alone. xDD;; You're very much welcome to join in the current conversation though, if you want! :> <3<3

I think the best thing I like about the Harry Potter movies is how they cast some of the characters. Snapes is great. So is Harry. Hermione is ok... Ron and his brothers are great.

That's true. :3 A good number of characters for me look like how I envisioned them. ^^;;
I do get bothered sometimes though on how old the characters look. :x
It can't be helped, but it's funny how someone who's only about to reach puberty looks like he jumped right past it already. xDD;;

That's where reality intrudes on the movies. They let way too much time pass between making the movies. What they should have done was make them all at the same time...

That would be ideal, but money-wise and schedule-wise it'd be an almost impossible feat. =O
After all, the people working on the film have their own lives. ^^;;
Especially for the teenage actors, who also have school to deal with and other projects. =P

I know, and actors hate the thought of being type-cast.
The poor guy who plays Ron will never get a different type of part.

The guy who plays Harry will do better... just take the glasses off, change the hairstyle, and you wouldn't even recognize him.

The guy who plays Snapes is a good European actor. I saw him in a Jane Austen movie... Persuasion. He can play anything I think.

That's true. :<
I wouldn't want that either though, if I were an actress. =\
Being an actor/actress is all about honing your craft, and you can't do that if you're always playing the same kinds of parts. ^^;;

This brings into mind Roan Atkinson (not sure of the spelling), who played Mr. Bean. =O
As much as I want to see him as an actor separate from Mr. Bean, I always seem to think of his movies as just Mr. Bean in a different setting before I can correct myself. :x
Heck, he's actually a very intelligent man who can speak very well, but because of his role as Mr. Bean people don't know that very much. =\

Have you tried any of Mercedes Lackey's books?
I really love her style. There are a few different "worlds" that she dabbles in.
It's mostly fantasy stuff.

Lackey has an entire world called the Valdemar world.
It's all fantasy... about Heralds and their Companions (white horses with blue eyes and "powers"). It's really hard to describe, but she writes so well, you just kinda fall into the world...

Quite a few of them are in paperback...

The first one I read was "Queen's Own". It's kind of in the middle of the series, but it was one of the first she wrote, and gives a very good start of getting to know the world.
Later she went and filled in some of the back story.

@ryl: haha and sure, of course i would like to join in the conversation. just hoping i won't interrupt you all. ^^;;;

but anyway. talking about harry potter. i agree how the elder harry now, which supposed to be young harry bothered me a little too. xD;; and the movies are becoming more and more em how to say.. serious? you know, not so much a children/kid movie anymore. the first movie is still my favourite, the young cute little harry <33

another movie would be batman. the latest (but not so recent) movie - the dark knight also not that 'hero save beauty' type of movie anymore. it involve more serious matters. =|

though i actually like to watch serious movies xD;;
and oh. i love chronicles of narnia by the way. haha <3

Lolz, I keep getting behind on this thread. @[email protected];;

@ Rose : I can just tell you what happens if you don't wanna read through all seven books? xDD;; <3<3

@ Jean : I've never heard of her or her books, sorry. =O I'll keep a mental note of her though when I start reading books again. :>

@ Cora : The others aren't as, ermm, "interesting" as the Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe, but if ever you do want to explore the world of Narnia more, I would suggest reading the rest, especially if you want to know what happens to the Pevensies in the end of it all. =P

@ Suona : Hihi there! :'D <3<3 Yeah, you haven't. xDD;; I've missed you though! :<

@ Dark : Well, I think that Harry Potter has transformed itself from a children's book into something much more now. xDD;; Especially since the "original" readers of Harry Potter who used to be kids when the first book came out are now teenagers and/or adults now. So, JK Rowling for me had to kind of adapt if she wanted to keep her original fanbase. xDD;;

And yeah, most movies nowadays are usually about "real" matters. =O No more fantasy and other things, because "real" movies are more relatable and the like. Which is fine with me, but I do get annoyed when people push aside other fantasy stories because it's not realistic enough. =\ I mean, duh, fantasy stories aren't supposed to be realistic. xDD;; Hency why they're called fantasy in the first place. 8DD;;

And you do? =O Have you read all seven books then? =P <3<3

guess the readers of harry potter also grow up like harry haha ='D
"real" matters are relatable but we need some fantasies to give ourselves a break from the reality! or probably a kitkat haha xD;; reminds me of enchanted <3<33

nope, i haven't got the time to start reading it yet ' ~' i just watched the movie haha xD;;
and my list is getting longer. too many books i wanted to read too especially after watching their movies e.g. slum dog millionaire, angels and demons and etc. >_<

Lolz, exactly~ xDD;;
And OMG! I love Enchanted! I don't care much for the ending, but I love the way it was done! :> It got a lot of good laughs from me, haha~ 8DD;; <3<3
And Amy Adams' acting there was superb. She really acted the part for me. 8DD;;

And oohh, those are nice books. :> Haven't read Slumdog Millionaire yet though. =O Although the book I think is called Q&A and not the same as the movie's title. ^^;; <3<3

You know, I think that I've never really cared for the "real life" movies.
When I go to a movie or read a book, I like to be transported away from real life.
I don't want to see/hear about things that happen in real life.
