Very, very expensive. @ [email protected];;
I dont know how i'll afford to keep up with school. Might have to quit for like a year and get a really steady job just to earn enough so that my parents dont have to fight to try to pay for all of it. :x

I was reading that the cost is not worth the price anymore. I'm starting to thing that more and more as my loan officers won't stop calling me.

Yeah, I can only get loans. They wont give me financial aid. And I'm not a minority, so getting scholarships is like a joke.

Lol okaay??
Cause like over here, everyone in NZ is entitled to one, well actually more then one. Even if you fail these courses and waste money your entitled to another. But i think they're gonna be cracking down on those who are getting loans and failing. Something like student debt is in the billions now hahaha. But that's what they get for giving us interest free loans, and making it so easy.

Suona, at my university, we paid per credit hour.
It wasn't a single price for tuition...

@ Roachi - Thats true. But I just dont want to be trying to pay off student loans for the rest of my life! Its just so hard to pay for school, and they're only making it exceedingly more difficult by the year. :/
@ Jean - Aah. I had just heard from people that it was. My bad.

I mean, I just dont have that kind of money now, and I doubt I will in the future either. :/ I think they're making it too hard for people to get an education.

Roachi, it means that each student's tuition was different. It was based on the number of classes that you were taking.
Some other universities may do it differently.

@Su - It sure is. After all the things that i've done my loan has never been that much xDD.
I only owe 5k now. We don't have to start paying that back till we're working anyways.

Slept at 5:30am, woke up at 9am. It's now... 9:25am. Have to be in school before 11. >3>;;
But hey, at least I got SOME sleep? xDD;;
Also, for those of you curious~
1) I've heard that in the US, 12 credits was the regular, and 15 was the max already and you need a good reason to do so. Or add/subtract 3 credits from that. In the Philippines, the normal is 18 to 21 credits, with some more intense courses having 24 or more credits per semester.
2) We also pay per credit/unit (we call them units here). No place here has just one giant tuition fee and then you just get what you want. o_o;; To me, that's absurd. Because it's so unfair for those who only need to take a few units but have to pay a more expensive flat rate. =\ So, nope, nothing like that here. You pay for every unit you take. =)
3) My tuition is cheaper because I'm studying at the national university where part of our tuition is subsidized by the government, because we're supposed to be the "scholars of the country" for passing their really tight quota. >.<;; Well, for the most part, it's subsidized. >3>;; But yeah, other schools are a ton more expensive. :x
4) Right now, I'm on 18 credits. In the next school year, from June 2010 to March 2011, I shall be required to take 21 units per semester. :x
And there's a simple rundown of my facts? 8DD;;
...
Sorry if I sound odd. >3>;; Only slept for about 4 hours, remember? xDD;;

I really dont know how things are for the University. Thats just what someone had told me the University that I want to go to is like. :x But I also got told by Jean that her University went by paying for credits. I honestly dont know completely. It might vary for different colleges. The community college that I am at goes by how many units you are taking. You pay per unit.
Also, that is not true about people only being allowed to have that many credits. As far as i've been told, there is no limit. 12 is the minimum you can take to be a full time student. Many take 15 or 18 units, and i've had a friend that took 23 at his University. O_o;; Buut how many units are each of your classes worth? For us, the usual classes are 3 credits, and the less important ones are worth less and PE is worth less. And then science classes with lab are worth 5 credits.

Regular classes range from 3 units to 6 units. :'> PE is 2 units (sometimes 4, depends), and the required extra-curricular activities are 6 units.
And Chi, you mean 28 units all in one semester? Or 28 units in a school year? I'm not sure what "course" means for you, if it means just one semester, one year, or the whole four years of schooling. xDD;; Sorry about my ignorance. ^^;;
Well, I guess medical students here have 30 units on a regular basis. :x
I only have 18 units cause Journalism doesn't need so many subjects. Others like med, Business Administration, and Engineering range from 21-27 units on a regular basis. Well, except for medical students. ^^;;
I can't compare with NZ though. :x
I can only compare with the US system, because our educational system is modeled after it, and thus very similar except for the timeline because our weather/seasons are very different from one another. One of the things the US wanted to make sure we followed when they "saved" us from colonization. xDD;;
And, Su, you can take more units indeed, and there's theoretically no limit. But from what I heard, you need extra permission to take on more than 12 or 15 units. =O Well, I guess till 18 units as well. You can't just go, "Oh, I wanna take 24 units now cause I feel like it!" and except them to allow you. =O
I was just kind of ranting, because our absolute minimum is 18-21 (except when you are a freshman where your first semester only has you take 15 units), which is a FAR cry from your minimum of 12 or 15. ;o; </3 If I could get away with 12 or 15 units, my life would be so much easier. >3>;; </3
