Yeah i just calculated it, it was 8 months LOL.

I guess that's almost a whole school year for us (ours ranges from 9 to 10 months). xDD;; 8 months is around one semester and maybe 3/4 of the second one. XP

Yeah correspondence works a bit differently though. There's like 3 semesters because you work through what normal uni students would have as holidays. But the last course i took at a university, was 21 units in 1 semester. Which is like 4 months i think. But who knows how you do your units or w/e. But the U.S curriculum is pretty advanced and stuff. So yeah.

Why is it still called semesters though when it's divided into three? Shouldn't that be called a trimester instead? =O <3<3
And don't worry, I think I understand your system. One big university here also uses the trimester system. =) They graduate earlier than the rest of us by a couple months. =O

@ Ry - Yeah, I think that some of your classes are just higher units then ours here. Also, it could be different for community colleges than universities. But I could be wrong. Just seems like you're saying we have it too easy because we only need 12 units, but that is still 4 classes. And i've never heard of us having limitations on how many units we can take. I'm sure there is, but none that i've heard of. And also the community colleges are more lienant with how few units you take. Some people just take one class for a hobby outside of work and their daily life. And some take full time schedule classes and ones that are specific for what career they want. But Universities are far more strict, I believe. :x I feel so stupid with my lack of knowledge of how they all differ, but they dont really teach you all the specific differences like that.

@ Su : Maybe, but majority of our classes are 3 units, as far as I know. They only increase usually when you have lab hours, which is the same for the US as well. =)

Also, I never said you guys had it easier, per se. =\ All I meant was that I wish I had 12 units instead of 18, because right now 4 classes seems a whole lot better than 6 classes. Even if it's still 4 classes, it's still less of a load than 6 classes, especially if you weight each class the same way. >.>;;

I'm probably just really frustrated though. :x With the stress eating at me and fatigue and anemia acting up on me and I'm not done with most of the stuff I need to do. @[email protected];;
Plus, some idiot American told off my friend when she helped tour him around campus for some sort of exchange program this summer. He viewed us as idiots because we're not "Ivy league". >.>;; And then he had the balls to say that all my friend's 24 units is nothing compared to his 8. =\ And then when asked relatively simple questions by other people during the forum part, he couldn't even answer them when most of the Filipino chaperones could. >.>;;
UGH, I'm just sick of the perception that the Philippines is always more stupid than the US. D:< It's supposed to be relative to the students' individual intelligences. :x I know that the US has better schools than us here, but damn if I'm going to take shit from some American dude who's all high and mighty who thinks he's smarter and better than us and so can degrade us. >.>;

And hmm, interesting. As far I know universities are definitely more strict with the number of units you take, like us. The information I know about that is from universities. I'm just not too sure about community colleges since I did tell you before that we don't have a concept of those over here. ^^;;

Besides, in universities you have advisers who will tell you if you're exceeding the number of needed units or if you should/shouldn't take this certain class. ^^
