I have a tendency to disregard certain assignments as well... We seem to do the exact opposite sets of work, though. I like to do the reading, and hate to do worksheets. :P
My teachers tend to hand out useless worksheets, though, and the tests usually pertain to reading. It balances. I do most of the work, when I know that I have the time, and when I'm stressed I focus on what I think will actually teach me something. I don't care much about grades, but I like understanding things.
I just joined this month, actually! I like it a lot, though. Menewsha provides a good distraction.
I'm mostly into the forums, since I started out my internet obsession by participating in forums.
I'm excited about the upcoming Halloween event! And, yet, I have no idea what it will be.

I dont really like to do the worksheets, but I have this fear taht if I dont do them, my grades will plummet. Actually, I do kinda like chemistry. It just kinda gets redundant. Seriously, we had a 50 problem worksheet today with the exact same thing over and over again. But I like choir best of all. I love ot sing, and I even made a code of music notes and such, so I can write notes to people in music. And our teacher is amazing.
I don't really udnerstand how to do the events.

I don't even really know what they'll entail, really, but it sounds fun. It will give me something to look forward to other than group projects (whee).
A lot of teachers have a tendency to assign long worksheets. I'm okay with it when they're useful, or when I really like the subject, but when they're just busy-work I tend to become frustrated.
Is your choir a competitive choir, or more like a school-club with concert performances sort of choir? At our school, choir is passed over a lot, so the program hasn't developed very much. I considered joining it in my freshman year, but you tend to get around to a lot more singing in the drama department than you do in the choir, at my high school.
I'm gonna sign off for the night. TTFN! :)

well, Im fine with the work, but when the last five worksheets have been the exact same type of problems, and you aced the first one, you tend to get a littled p-oed at the teacher.
Our choir isn't competitive yet because last year we had a sucky teacher and now we have a good teacher. This year we're just trying to fix our reputation, so we're going to a college to sing and then we'll have ou r concert on my birthday. NExt year, we're going to split of into two choir groups and then hopefully we'll be better. Plus, this year, choir is semester long, next year it willl be year long. Im also doing drama next semester, which is taught by the same teacher. he's awesome. and hes only 23.

I love having young teachers! They tend to be more playful and relaxed-- plus, as a bonus, most young music teachers are involved in a band on the side.
I'm glad that you're going into drama! I'm a great proponent of such a plan. :)
I just got home, and I'm Grr-Face. I might just accidentally stab the next person who tries to talks CA politics at me with the pointy end of my Obama pin.
And it wouldn't be at all intentional. It would be more of a nervous convulsion.

Well, Hanson (Choir/drama teacher) is in our school drumline, but that's about it, besides being in his own choir. But it's awesome. It is so much more fun and playful than any of my other teachers.
Drama's gunna be just as fun as choir. They do nothing but play games, practice for plays, do monologues, things like that. It sounds awesome.
I absolutely hate politics. If I could vote, I would vote for neither because I don't like politicians. And this years candidates sucked.
But we dont have to talk about that if you dont want to. I'd prefer not to anyway.

Don't worry-- I'm more than happy to ditch the politics for quite some time, just now.
Hanson is an extremely fun name. Last or first?
Thank you so much for recommending Patricia Briggs. I'm reading Moon Called, and so far I love it. I got a few kicks out of this line:
Quote:
|
Stefan’s bus was painted to match the Mystery Machine, which said a lot about the vampire it belonged to. Stefan told me that he’d briefly considered painting it black a few years ago when he started watching Buffy, but, in the end, he’d decided the vampire slayer was no match for Scooby Doo.

It's so playful!
There are four books in the series?
I'm teaching a class about the ending of Pride and Prejudice tomorrow. Wish me luck!

Hanson's his last name. It makes me laugh when he sings soprano.
Your welcome. And yes, it is very playful. Actually, I believe she is signed on for 8 Mercy Thompson books. Here is her website: www.patriciabriggs.com or www.hurog.com They both take you to the same place.
Good Luck.

Thanks!
Also-- the Princess Bride-- Movie, Book, or both?
I'm going to be gone for most of today and a good part of Saturday. I get to hang out with my absolutely wonderful little cousins. Two girls, twins, six years old, and an itty-bitty wee young boy of around 2.5ish years. They're all really sweet, really playful, and great to be around. Plus, the youngest one has recently learned to say my name, which is mucho cute! :boogie:
Weekend plans?

I liked both the movie and the book of Princess Bride.
I don't like little kids. But I do like my cousins. I just wish I had one my age.
I was going to go to two parties, but today I got my braces fixed. And my parents are going to the temple tomorrow, and I didn't really want to go anyway. And now, I really don't want to go. I'm just having a whole bunch of problems. My neighbors all claim to be bitten by my dog, and so my dad says he wants to put him down, but my dog is a pansy and would never hurt anyone unless provoked. And then we were talking about moving, and I don't want to leave my friends. I'm just so...depressed.

I'm so sorry that there's so much hard stuff going on!
The moving was triggered by the complaints against your dog, then? When I was younger, I used to always worry constantly that someone would take my dog away because he kept escaping, and the neighbors complained. My best friend's puppy, who passed away recently, was also a very snappy dog, and it caused her a lot of worry over the possibility of having to put him down. It's hard, when you have an animal you love. Especially with dogs, you want to protect them.
Is there anything that you can do to appeal to the neighbors?
It's upsetting that your dad is taking their side on this. :(

Hey Lia!
I'm doing pretty well-- watching old episodes of So You Think You Can Dance, which is very fun. Did I mention that I like Nigel? "We're only making plans for Nigel..."
I like music too. The title actually spawned form my listening to a Jason Mraz song. :)
I know the whole weirdness of the crush name thing! In the 7th grade, I found out my crush's middle name was "Karl." I was like :?
Like Karl Marx, Karl, or...?

I recommend downloading it! It's very fun, if you're at all interested in music/theatre/choreography.
He is love! His style is intelligent, playful, quiet, jazzy, wonderful... A lot of his music works to define me. Do you have We Sing, We Dance, We Steal Things? I'm in love with a couple of those tracks right now.
Like P.Y., or like "Pie?" 'Cause I like Pi. And Life of Pi. It's a thing. :)

Ooooh, Wall-E!
I love it! I saw it in theatre three times, actually. Not because I'm obsessive, or anything, but because I was determined that every one of my friends should see it. It's been so long since an animated film was that wonderfully sweet/funny. :)
Let me know what you think when you finish it. I particularly liked "Mo." In fact, I have a friend whose personality is very, very much like Mo's.
I'm all the way over in CA, USA, so it's easy for me to find his music. I think that he lives in Los Angeles. (It's also 1a.m. in my time zone :P)

I probably should... but if I sleep now, then I'll sleep in late... and I hate sleeping in late.
Would it be healthier-ish if I stayed up all night doing homework? Because I could do that. Then at least I could be pretend-responsible.
I'm excited about that movie coming out!
Mostly to spite WB, 'cause I'm all angsty that Potter is now close to a year off.
I sound like a dorky teenager to the extreme.
Technically, I'm supposed to be over such things now. I can vote!
... Nope. Still excited!
I may even dress up.
I probably will go to bed soon, though.

I have homework-- no break for quite some time yet.
In November, where the next Potter movie was previously scheduled to be. WB= Warner Brothers, a major maker of many movies.
Dress up for the movie. I probably won't, since I only do that sort of thing when I wish to embarrass my friends, but the prospect is a fun one. At midnight book releases in the states, there are a lot of people who dress up. The same thing goes for midnight movie releases (Pirates of the Caribbean= Pirate costume, etc..)
I doubt that I actually will dress up, though, 'cause I'm not exactly a huge fan of the book series; they're occasionally tweeny. I just like an excuse to have fun.:boogie:
I think I'll sign off for the night. Chat soon?
Ta! :)

'Ello!
My ginseng and vitamin B12 infused coffee is telling me that 5 hours isn't quite enough sleep, but my room is shouting, "Clean me, you saucy wench!"
I cede to the latter.
Actually, to be truthful, the room did not use the phrase, "You saucy wench!" It used much, much harsher language... probably resultant from long neglect. I may have shot the sheriff, but I have no idea where my dirty laundry learned such reprehensible language. Now off to towel-folding! ^.^

Aislin, It was upsetting that he took the neighbors side over ours. He always does that, not wanting to upset anyone, and it seems all our neghbors have things againts us. None of them like us, and we have had bad things happen with all of them, so we are most likely going to move.
We have tried appealing to them, cutting down our trees, getting rid of our dogs and cats, all these things, and they still get mad at us.
But I'm better today.

Possibly your father feels overwhelmed, and just doesn't want to fight with anyone? It's upsetting, but parents aren't as superhuman as they should be.
I don't envy you your neighbors; they sound unkind.
I'm glad things are improving a little.
Also, thank you again for recommending Patricia Briggs! I just finished Blood Bound.
Tomorrow is a Monday. Can you feel the overwhelming excitement? :|
