Hey all!
Welcome, Pat! Your photography is breathtaking.
Je parle un peu de français. I live in California and want to be a teacher, so I'm looking into learning Spanish as well. I'm really interested in language, but those two are the only options offered at my school. In the CA public school system, the amount of languages offered seems to correlate directly with the local property tax. ;)
Today was a strange sort of day, with everyone reacting to the election and such. Also, everyone is sick. Including me. -.-
I'm also suddenly craving eggs? :?
How goes it for you guys?

Well, I don't know really. I think its just because I never really liked conforming, and everyone where I'm from speaks Spanish. And the public tells us we should learn Spanish, and I hate people telling me what I can and cannot do. And the Spanish teacher here is horrible. Seniora Schmick, bah! I can speak a little Spanish. I've picked up certain things just by riding my bus. I can also speak a little Japanese, Samoan, German, Italian, and Latin, but none of them enough to get by.
EDIT: Hey, Aislin.
I have this friend, one of my best friends, actually. And he is just the little conspiracy theorist. He did all this math with Obama's name and came out to 44 and Obama is the 44th president, and then the answer of 114 divided 2008, all the numbers in that answer added together make 44. I don't quite understand it all, but that's Chris for you.

That's wonderful! I think that I vastly approve of Chris: I do pretty much the same thing, although it never occurred to me to add up Obama's name.
I did add up the names of all of my possible therapists, if that tells you anything. One through nine, and I avoided those with an excess of fives and a lack of nines. :P
This might just distract me for the next hour.

Lol. Actually, what he did was more of:
O = 15th letter
B = 2nd letter
A= 1
M= 13
A= 1
15 x 2 = 30
13 x 1= 13
30 + 13 = 43
43 + the extra 1 = 44
And I'm glad you approve of Chris. He is an amazing guy. He's my husband.
I can do the conspiracy thingy too. See watch:
Twilight was supposed to come out on 12/12. Now it's coming out on the 21. And that is a 21 day difference. 1+2=3 and there are 4 sets of 3 here. 3x4=12. Muahaha!

I do an odd sort of system which goes up to nine before switching back over. It also enables other numbers to be reduced by adding the digits... 14= 1+4= 5... It's nutty, actually. :)
B- 2
A- 1
R- 9
A- 1
C-3
k- 2
O- 6
B- 2
A-1
M- 4
A- 1
Not a single 5! I am content. :angel:
Adds up to a total of 32, though, which reduces to 5. Darn!
Your husband's method makes more sense.
Yes! I wonder how the conspiracy theory Twilight math relates to the conspiracy theory Potter math? The answer to the Great Movie Switch of 2008 may be contained therein.

And as fascinating as conspiracy theories are, I must dash. Doctor Who awaits! Talk to you later, hopefully. : )

Do you not like the number 5?
He's technically not my husband. We're sophomores in highschool, and he's one of those outrageously strange guys. So, he has like 9 wives now and one husband. [I'm wife number 6. But Oh NO! I've been promoted to wife number 5.] But yeah, he kinda forced me to marry him. He's just like "Here, put this ring on." and I'm like "No" and he's like "Put it on, damnit." Only funny, not demanding. Our teacher says he's starting a little cult.
But yeah, he's pretty cool.
For a second, I didn't understand your method, but then I looked at your example, and I get it. Like it goes a=1 and so forth and then j= 1 and starts over like that?

@Pat: Enjoy Dr. Who!
@Summer: Yes, you've got it right! I read about that system in some arbitrary book, and now I apply it whenever I feel particularly ADD.
I'm no great fan of five, but that mostly reflects on a couple of not-so-fun things that have happened in May. Since it's month 5, I have associated the bad juju with the number 5. Strangely, though, I've found that people born in May are absolutely fantastic.
... I'm not superstitious?
:)
That sounds fun! From the cult aspect, like Joseph Smith but with more aplomb. How did you get promoted to Wife Five?
I'm actually also not-really-married. My best friend and I have been referring to each other as "the wife" for 6 years now. Mostly because we bicker and we're both always right. It's a good system.

I have no idea how I got promoted. I actually think he got in a fight with wife 6, and so he switched us around.
Oh, and Joseph Smith wasn't a cult. Back then, it was legal to have several wives. Now it's not, and us Mormons don't have several spouses. Back then it was, and so we had several spouses so we could help take care of those women who couldn't take care of themselves.
I've actually been "married" 4 times. the first two times me and these two other girls got divorced, the third me and another girl got it anulled. And now, I'm not allowed to divorce Chris. I am currently being kept in his attic. [Not really, it's just what he said.] The ring is actually a piece of wire bent.

I would never switch on my Wife! She's always Wife #1. Even when she nags. ^.^
And don't worry, I don't actually think of LDS as a cult. When I went to temple with one of my closest friends, the person leading the youth portion jovially offered me what he deemed a "cult book" and then informed me that I wasn't yet cool enough to know the secret handshake. All of my Mormon friends are very playful and jocular when it comes to their faith, which probably stems from my living in California.
All of my Jewish friends are the same, actually. My Catholics, however, do not joke about their faith: instead, they joke about being Polish.
I love my state! :)
Awww! I was hoping it was one of those plastic jewel-like rings.
In the second grade I refused to be married, but instead served as the priest for a few "weddings." Since then I have accumulated a Wife, multiple Mistresses, and have somehow become my friend's "Woman." Oh, and some of my friends call me Mama.
Once again: California. Broken families, what can I say?

Lol. I told him not to do that, because he'd been married to the others longer, and it wasn't fair to them.
After I complained, he gave me a spider ring, but I gave it to his wife number...I think it was 3. because I thought it unfair he do that to his other wives.
I also have a "My one and only."

Of this I approve! My principal monogamy is that which I share with my best friend, actually. I'm completely faithful to people I date, but I always warn at the beginning of each relationship that earning her approval is paramount.
I like to prioritize. She was my first confidante.
I have a "Captain, my Captain," and someone I refer to as "Dumbledore." The nickname was established pre book-7 (how could he??). My friends and I also have pennames. I haven't really "owned" my actual name in years.
We're in the same timezone! Are you a late-dinner-eater or an early-dinner-eater? I live with my grandma, so I eat quite early.

Lol. And I have several people who I just say "That's my Amy," or "That's my Sam." And get all offensive when someone takes them.
I'm a when-ever-i-feel-hungry eater.

I'm also a whenever-I-get hungry eater. I've been pig-hungry for 15 minutes precisely. Yum for rice and frijoles! :)
I'm reading legal documents also. Can you say fun-fun? :sarcasm:
After I'm done reading this petition and figuring out the procedure for volunteering, I will I will I will do my homework. Maybe. Probably. I hope.
