I found an article about characters who'll be appearing in the next Torchwood series. Looks like Torchwood meets the CIA.

I wonder if the American Torchwood show will draw more Americans into watching Who.



OMG... What do you guys think of this? I'm all for Matt trying to crack Hollywood, but he can't leave yet!! I hope this is just a rumor. DON'T PULL A CHRISTOPHER ECCLESTON ON US, MATT! :cry:

I'm in the minority of DW fans who would rather Torchwood didn't continue. The first season failed to grab me and from what I understand the second season was more of the same. We're being vulgar because we can just don't fly for me. I think I would have preferred a UNIT series, that would have ended up more like X-Files and probably would have been better off.

I'm calling bs on the Matt Smith thing. He was most likely just down because his ratings were a little low for his first season but they'll pick up next season and he'll be back. I'd give him 3 years in the slot then we'll see twelve.

Speaking of Eccleston, I wanna see the G.I. Joe movie he's in! I've been wanting to see it since it came out, but it's never in at the library!

I'd personally say the second series of Torchwood corrected a lot of the mistakes of the first. The characters for one were a lot more fleshed out rather than just being walking stereotypes and it stopped trying too hard to be "dark" and "sexy". It didn't always get it right but it was good fun at least.

The Sun is just a typical tabloid, I wouldn't place much faith in their stories. Matt probably does want to break Hollywood but he's still young and I doubt he'd give up such a good thing as Who soon.

I agree with Kat. Even though I've only seen clips of Matt as the Eleventh Doctor...

He was really good in that movie I finally got to see it and I absolutely loved it.

Watched Fires of Pompeii today, which finished off my revisiting of Series 4 (I watched them out of order, yeah. So sue me. I wanted to start with Midnight!) Anyway, I forgot how very emotional this episode was. Catherine Tate's acting was superb (have I mentioned what a great cryer she is? She's just as good at sad emotions as Tennant... and that's saying something, considering she's a comedienne and he's from the Royal Shakespeare Co.!) And upon watching the behind-the-scenes Doctor Who Confidential for that episode, the real story of Pompeii suddenly seemed very real to me. There was no Pyrovilia, or alien circuitry... But there was an actual volcano that killed thousands of unsuspecting people-- something which I'd known since gradeschool, but not thought about the real facts of the story in years. (And I s'pose Doctor Who is partly to blame for that... just as it's to blame for my never being able to think of Madame de Pompadour the same again... or Vincent van Gogh!! haha)

Yeah I never saw the vesuvius eruption or agatha krystis mysterious dissapearance the same after I saw the doctor who version of it I also think the earth will be destroyed by the sun in 5 billion years. Unicorn and the Wasp, The Fires of Pompeii, and the End of the world are all really good episodes.

Is it just me, or is Rose a lot different, somehow, when she makes her reappearance in Series Four?

um she is different lol she carrys a gun.

She also acquires a mysterious lisp which then goes away again.

I have The Asylum's Sherlock Holmes film (starring Gareth David-Lloyd as Watson) on DVD now. It looks just absolutely terrible enough to be brilliant.
