Any news on whether the American Torchwood series will be more family-friendly than the original? I'm thinking specifically of language... "WTF" and all that. But then, it will be on cable, so it's hard to say...

The official synopsis and a few of the little 'leaks' from the writers are actually putting me off The New World so I'm going to try and reserve judgement until they actually start filming.

What leaks? I know very little about Torchwood in general, let alone the new series, so I'd be interested to see what they were saying, really.

John Fay and Jane Espenson have both made comments to the media but nothing huge. Just more or less confirming the format of the new series and that it will be accessible to people watching the series for the first time.

The wikipedia article has a pretty good summary of the official synopsis.

In the UK it'll be shown on BBC One/BBC HD and on Starz the US (although I have no idea if that's the name of a channel or just the 'network').

I'll probably end up re-watching it on iPlayer anyway so the HD can crash my laptop.

Yes, but I know I'll try it anyway. Watching the first episode of Sherlock made my laptop overheat about three times and I just kept turning it back on again while making cups of tea to calm down.

If I download things to desktop iPlayer it's a bit better because the streaming lags too much in HD even on our relatively fast internet.

I just watch everything online and don't bother downloading it.

I actually have Doctor Who to thank for getting me into the VlogBrothers, in a roundabout way!! You see, if I hadn't watched DW, I wouldn't have looked up the Chameleon Circuit band on youtube, which means I wouldn't have heard of DFTBA Records, which means I wouldn't have wondered what the heck DFTBA stood for, and Googled it.
