I gave up reading Wikipedia.
Too many big words, not enough little ones.

There exists something called a Multiverse, where many universes are located. Our universe is simply of those many existing universes.

Parallel universes are also known as alternative universes. =O These universes are related with one another by one way or another. They have both similarities and differences.

Say for example that in one universe, swanniee is a real swan. In a parallel universe, swanniee exists as well, but she may not be a swan, but a real person with the name of swanniee.

Parallel Universe: a separate reality that sort of coexists with one's own world.

Example.. example.. uh....

Sort of like in the Dark Materials trilogy.. There could be millions of other "United States" in other dimensions, where the same people exist, but don't necessarily have to be doing the same thing. I could have gone into psychology instead of going into art, but I'd still be me, just living in a different place. The differences in the universes would have to do with the different paths the different "me"s choose to take.

A paraell universe is a universe that is directly related to ours while our universe is directly connected to another. From my understanding, these universes represent the 'What ifs' of this universe. Different outcomes of same situations. Its sort of like looking at the stitches of time. If you unravel one thread, you get us. Unravel the other one, you get a different universe. We're all part of the same tapestry, but we aren't the same thread. ... Did that make sense?
