See, to me that one sounds like it means what it does mean. :c Well, the aroused interest definition, not so much the annoyance one. It seems too cute for that. o_o

It always sounded to me like it should be similar to catching someone's attention. D: Y'know, "it piqued her interest" or something. No where near annoyance. o_o

Isn't it similar to catching someone's attention, though? o_o Like "the shiny object piqued her interest because she was a magpie, so she went to investigate."

I had thought so, but every definition of it I've read has said otherwise. o_o

a sudden outburst of anger; "his temper sparked like damp firewood"
|
Quote:

The jigger.

In piquet, the right of the elder hand to count thirty in hand, or to play before the adversary counts one.
|
Quote:

To excite to action by causing resentment or jealousy; to stimulate; to prick; as, to pique ambition, or curiosity.
To pride or value; – used reflexively.

|
Huh, waddaya know. o_o It's sad that I had to go to Wikipedia to find a definition that included curiosity in it, though. So change that to almost every definition I've read. xD;

If you google a word, it usually has a link to the definition next to where it says how many results you got. c: They just changed it to google dictionary, it used to link you to the page on some other website that I've forgotten, but I liked it much better. o_o

I'll bet it is! xD We don't put candycanes on our tree, almost solely because it's so small that a few of the things would topple it over. :B I miss our old big tree.
