Another fantastically boring day at work. Stuff just trickles in and then stops. Hate that time seems to be dragging on...Anxious for it to be tomorrow already since my friend and I are going on a road trip up north to see my friend. She's pregnant! So excited about being a godmother. Only bummer is that Jamie will more then likely be moving to Montana in March to live with Josh. On the flip side of that, I've got another destination to visit.

I'm not sure, Kaze, but I was offline for a looooooooong time and than I came back and my thread was still near the top. Its nice when people keep other peoples threads alive... I try to post in as many people's hangout threads as possible for that reason.

I frequented that site in 03 and 04 but than quit....
So I had all the old items... but once all the spammers & hackers joined I lost interest...

I hated the scammers too... especially the mods >.<...... but that was where I met Larele in 07... so I stayed until she was ready to go... she treasures gaia because it's where we met...

My friend and her husband met on Gaia, but I doubt the both of them frequent it much at all these days. She has the Panda hat, just want to rip it off her head and stick it on mine.

Optimism is the only way to live, but I am also a realist at the same time. Kind of strange combination, but it works for me.

Had a few people that we chatted with constantly become MODs, then we didn't get to chat with anymore because they were too busy. Although, they did come in handy a couple of times when people would not live you alone and were flaming the hell out of your thread. They responded real fast. Of course, this was all before they got too big for the britches and lost sight of what Gaia was suppose to be...damn money whores.
Not that there isn't a problem whoring for money, but at least keep some standards. Gaia has lost all of its self respect and most of the members that were there when it was great.

I agree... Larele used to be one of those people who made gaia fun... heck she should have been a mod... she did more cleaning up/reporting of things against tos than some mods >.<

The one thing I think that bothered her the most was probably people putting flashy pictures/flashing backgrounds on their signatures or home pages... since she's epileptic it's really dangerous to be around things like that...

Some of the pictures would have "I hope you have a seizure" written on them >.> pissed me off...

Yep, thats why I never became a Mod on Gaia even though I was an old account that frequently posted, Andais. I got asked once by a mod and I was like "uhhh too much work, me lazy." Lol. Yeah, hoarders would piss me off too.... And it pissed me off how they lied to newbs and stole their items for cheap prices. I'd always go around telling the newbs to beware of hoarders. XD haha.
Exactly, all my good friends that were on Gaia in 03 have left... Soooo I had no reason to stay.

Yeah... I would only hoard the event items I got from mene events... but only because I have a tendency to give sets to newbies I like XD

I don't have one either... I like to give them to people who enjoy mene and expect to stay a while too... else the items might go to waste where I could have given them to some who would be staying long-term and would enjoy the items longer...

I wanted to cry :( I saw these boots I liked, and waited for my mom to scan other shops before she checks the shoe store. But before that, whilke we were walking to the store, she was like "I really hope you at least chose good-looking boots, you need to be more feminine! You have these shiny sandals you never put on, and what about those boots I bought you?? I haven't seen you with either of those!" Ehm, thanks mom for questioning and putting my likes and dislikes in a second-plane, I know you just want me to be comfortable with myself. [/sarcasm]
I just hate it when she tries to make me put on heels or skirts or dresses or pink or shiny sandals, MOM, THAT IS NOT ME! ...great, now I'm crying like a f*cking idiot in front of the screen. Sometimes I wish I could either be the most feminine girl of my country, be religious, or at least be hypocrite enough to pretend to be the perfect girl to her eyes. But... I'm none of these. I think the only thing about me that pleases her is that I have decent grades and... well, just, why can't I be... like everyone else? Everyone is hypocrite and sociable and worry about how they look and like to shop, why can't I be like that?? Why wasn't I at least be born a boy?!
The whole thing made me remember the exact reason why I greatly dislike going out of my house, despise going shopping and hate crowded places: Because I just can't find peace! She always say "Look how she dressed" or "See how she looks" or "Ugh, look at that!". And even if I were to go alone I wouldn't find anything I like, nobody to relate to. Sometimes I even think there's a pissed invisible guy up in the airs who's just doing all he can to drive me insane, because the only place I can have peace is the bathroom. And even sometimes not even there >_<

PS: Oh and these plain boots I liked were the only ones she criticized. She was saying "These boots look like something someone who has chains and door knockers hanging from his pants would use!". Needless to say she never thought on buying them.

I'm sorry your mom is that way, my mom doesn't understand anything that I'm going through, but she's not.. saying her word on it either. *hugs* I hope things work out for the best.

Moms say some of the worst things ever and don't think twice on how it makes you feel. My mom for the longest time would say stuff about my size until one day I just snapped at her. Needless to say that didn't go over very well, but shee needed to understand that I am comfortable where I am, and when it's time for me to lose the weight it will be shed.
Thankfully, she doesn't say much about it now.

Well yeah, it's things like that, that I prefer bottling up in my head rather than speaking out. I don't know, I think I grew scared of dissappointing her because I respect her so much :/ At least I have the interwebz to explode whenever I feel like this again, because I know I will, I just remembered the dark side of vacations for me >.< Mom making me join activities I despise [dancing, eww Dx] and telling me to socialize with the people I don't like. But, heh, I guess if I've been silent for this many years, I can stand it until I flee... I still don't know what I fear more, if my mom or open places @[email protected]

Respect is something has to be earned and it is a two way street. My mother taught me that, but she lost sight of it, sometimes moms needed to be reminded that they need to practice what they preach. As for "fitting in" with the crowd, nobody really likes to Moo and if they do, well their lose.
Explain to her that while you understand that she feels like you are not doing everything the right way, it's your way and that should count for more then what society dictates it should be. You are who you are and short of a sink hole opening up and swallowing you alive it would be changing any time soon. *huggles*
