Hi everyone!

I'm Aldrea, and I'm new to Mene but I have been on Gaia for years. I am an unabashed fruit fly. My mother's a lesbian, my favorite cousin a drag queen. I'm part of a Rocky Horror shadowcast where I've been fortunate enough to meet amazing people and count them as my friends.
I'm glad I found this thread because I am actually curious as to how I can actually be a productive member of the community. I belong to Straight for Equality but with all the bullshit that GLBTs are still subjected to every day I feel like I'm not doing enough. I've seen everything from religious-based gay bashing to military discrimination and it sickens me. I can't comprehend how people can be persecuted for love, and why all these crusty old politicians in America are so interested in what goes on in the bedrooms of the people they are supposed to simply protect, serve, and facilitate in their pursuit of happiness.

Oh, and I nominate either Sir Elton John or Freddie Mercury.

I hate dog-hating drivers! D:< One hit and killed my dog last thursday, and today sunday while touring some towns in the middle of nowhere I saw a truck moving a little to the left, putting himself at risk since it's a two-way road and we were coming towards him on that side, all just to try to hit a puppy that wanted to cross the road. My mom shout "What a bastard!" and I totally agree with her T__T

I understand how you feel...It's very difficult to really feel like you're making a difference with this kind of stuff. :\ This country has become effed up and a big part of that is the fact that Christianity is practically running this place. I love my Christian friends, but even they agree religion has no place in politics.

Yeah, that sucks. ): I remember when Jesse stopped talking to me...He just like...totally stopped replying to me. We actually -just- started talking again and that was only because I was freaking out and he was the only one I could think of to call. So we only really talked long enough for me to calm down. But it's better than nothing. I'm sure Gab would be there if you really needed him...And if not, then he never deserved you in the first place.
