That's really amazing, the fire twirlers. I've seen people do that before and the whole time I was thinking "omg omg they're going to get burned!" lol but of course they didn't. :XD

And fire can definitely be used for art (that pic is awesome btw) I had an art teacher once who would have these canvasses (i dunno what they were made from) and she would burn the images into them, like she could draw realistic people or faces or whatever, with fire. :)

My friend told me that she got burned on the hands and arm many times when she messes up...
but after lots of practice you don't anymore and you can put on shows. its really cool. I wish I was able to twirl and throw fire around like that... I'd be scared that I'd light my hair on fire though. XD haha//

Like PETA. I'm 100% against animal testing and cruelty, but still PETA seems a little crazy to me.

Well, yeah I know that Christa... I lived in Humboldt for a while and people would live in trees, literally, to protect them from getting chopped down. Same thing happened in Berkeley. The funny thing is the people protesting don't even go to the college where they're trying to protect the trees.... they're just random hippies trying to be heroes. And in the end, the corporations and logging companies win and the trees get chopped anyways. >_______<

And its not cuz I hate rats (which I do) but because humans should NOT be the first ones to discover side-effects on... that would result in way more fatalities. Dead rats aren't a big deal. I understand why PETA wants animal fur off of fashion shows, because hunting rare species is disturbing.

When I said animal testing, I meant testing like beauty products and hair care products and stuff. I dunno. Like I've been in debates about animal testing twice, and I've spoke for both sides of the issue. So I can see the good and bad points of animal testing as well as the good and bad points of NOT using animal testing. I suppose what I'm actually against is cruelty to animals including animal test subjects.
And I would never wear fur, unless it was fake. But I don't agree with like, the throwing red paint on models with fur. I mean, yes its making a statement, but really that's one fur coat destroyed so they're going to make another to replace it. So in actuality it ends up causing more animals to die for their fur. :(

Environmental extremist can be such a problem too. Like, today I had a Bussiness & Administration exam, and the case study was of a pharmaceutical company. One of the laboratories was found that it experimented on animals, but the problem was that some had a painful death. The results? Extremists vandalizing investigation & development centers, attacking scientists who worked for the company even if they had nothing to do with the illegal activities, and the founder receiving letters threatening his family and his own integrity.

Yes, it's an hypothetical case, but I'm sure people would react like that if such happened :XD

And PETA has crossed the boundaries between doing good to animals to where it's just criminalizing the non-members.

I agree. I love animals, but there has to be a point. Did you know they tried to rename fish Sea Kittens? Here's the website: Save The Sea Kittens! | PETA.org It's more than a little ridiculous.

The problem is I believe animal life should be valued as much as human life, but it doesn't always work out neatly like that. Although I think pharmaceutical companies need to do more testing in general, on animals and people.

Not so much for animal rights maybe, but like high profile pro-abortion doctors and politicians receive death threats and all kinds of flak. I don't think it would be a stretch for extreme environmentalists to do the same thing to scientists or CEOs of companies that test on animals.

I agree that animals should be valued as highly as humans. I see the need though for drug companies to test on animals so that they can make products that are safe for humans. But I think the animals, even as test subjects, should have as nice of a life that is possible to give them. I also think drug companies should test more on humans, because no matter how similar we are to monkeys and other animals, we're obviously not the same. If medicine was tested more on humans, I don't think we'd see so many giant recalls of medicines and things like that. :/

I don't see whats wrong with testing pharmaceuticals and beauty products on animals, as long as you're humane about it and you don't torture the animals... and you give them proper medical treatment, than whats the problem? The animals are safe and than the humans won't get sick from the products. win/win. Its only when companies are harming the animals in the process of testing new products that it poses an issue... and than PETA can get involved, but they shouldn't be against ALL testing. See what I'm sayin? We're all a little crazy Christa. 8D muahaha!

What I don't get HIM, is that attacking and threatening a man who probably didn't even know that the animals were having painful deaths, is wrong and in fact, more disturbing and hateful than testing on animals in the first place... I think PETA has lost all their values in the extremism. Its like they value animals above human life which is NOT ok. Equality is fine... but lowering the standards of human's lives is NEVER good. Stupid PETA.

But you know, animals are happy with being fed, treated with care and dying without pain... but humans ask for ridiculously high amounts of money for their health and complain they're being treated like lab rats, so testing on humans... not even me in my craziest dream would have it as my best option :lol:

Oh btw I had another crazy dream. I dreamt I stole some sort of bycicle which happened to have some historical value and rode it along a rather empty avenue as a protest to free Palestine from Israeli people. Even though I'm a good bike rider, that bike was so stupidly hard to manuever I got caught by the transit vigilants who suspected I was in some strange behaviour and then they got a call I was involved in terrorism. Oddly enough the psychologist from my school then came too saying he received a call I was involved in both strange behaviour and possibly terrorism from a girl who was in my class but never really talked to me, but then a group of classmates came and questioned the authorities for they could not believe I would ever do such a thing :rofl: It ended up with me watching TV at a friends house and noticing the news said nothing about my adventure... So crazy! :XD
