Like I said, I don't know how true it is of India over China. But there's some controversy in that area and I'm hardly an expert.

Hinduism is a bit odd in that all the gods are actually one god and different manifestations so all the gods change gender from time to time because of cosmic... whatever. But that doesn't mean that all who follow Hinduism are receptive to the LGBT community. And with the way the world has changed since the conception of the belief, and influence from western culture, its hardly the same.

The low female population rate is due to the increase in ultra sounds, which means that females can be... weeded out, as it were. The government has been trying to be creative to halt this, as it is with many reproductive related issues in india. Currently, the women's issue that pisses me off most in india is dowry related violence against young brides.

As to the gender issues in india and their connection to hinduism, Michael Wood's The Story of India, while largely historic, touches on some facinating traditions on that end. It's probably on netfix.

But generally...I feel bad for people in the "MAN BETTER!" kind of countries...the women for obvious reasons, but the men as well, because that women are objects, or should be treated the way they get treated, that is something that the men were taught and how they have been brought up to believe that way is how they are supposed to act towards women. They learn that they have their place and women have their place and that's just the way the world works. So there is a lot of things wrong with how women are treated and dealt with, but I don't feel comfortable saying that males are to blame or that they're the bad guys, because I feel like...like they wouldn't be that way if they hadn't been told that's how they should be on and on back through generations.

Also about the whole "lesbians as gods entertainment for men"- Its sort of a double edged sword for me. Because I've watched things, and I've had fantasies about people. So, I see the whole...entertainment? angle for both sexes. x_x However, as an outspoken feminist-minded female bisexual, that statement struck me as mean and it pissed me off.
Like, I've watched lesbian porn and I've watched man/woman porn (more of a curiosity kind of thing than a sexual thing) and I love yaoi. But the reason that statement or that way of thinking makes me mad is that they aren't referring to porn or hentai or whatever. That is designed to be entertainment, and its not real life even if its real people; no matter if they are flat out having sex, its still not really real. Like, even though I do read yaoi manga, I don't think that gay men were put here to please me and all the other women (and men) who get a kick out of yaoi or gay porn. I don't look at real gay men, like some couple walking down the street, and start fantasizing about them. That would just be fucking creepy. :o
That statement that was made was not intended to mean lesbians in porn or whatever, it was meant as ALL lesbians- real life women, not porn stars or actresses agreeing to do an act that means nothing because its business to them, or some cartoon of women screwing each other, but that real lesbian couples were put on this earth for the soul purpose for men to fantasize about them. It was a degrading statement toward lesbians, and was close to being a degrading statement toward females in general. It was the same type of thinking used when people say that woman was created for men; woman's real purpose is to please men. Its derogatory and a rude way to think or act. :(

Kitami, the saddest thing about your first paragraph is that women teach their male children to be macho, and then wonder why they're bad men when they grow up. My grandmother would make all her daughters do the housechores, and say she wouldn't make her son sweep the floor because he's a boy and housechores "are a women thing". And that's just one out of many examples I've seen.

No wonder he's a failure as an adult now. Never had responsabilities.

That's what I meant. I like that the, uh...the gender roles in recent generations are getting a little blurred. My brother used to knit. Didn't make him gay. :lol:
