Animal as a pet? Easy: Any big cat, wolf/dog, and a dragon. Maybe a ferret. But those are perfect.

That being said, I realize that wild species should never be kept as pets. Jecynecy, I think you should mention in your first post that keeping wildlife as pets is bad idea and illegal in many countries. I know this thread is just for fun, but it'd probably be a good thing to put as a disclaimer, just in case someone who reads this thread gets any funny ideas. (Like that tattoo guy you mentioned in your first post that kept the two tigers in Chicago... he could get some heavy fines and maybe even a prison sentence for that... and that's not to mention the poor quality of life that those animals must have...)

And sorry, I don't mean to ruin the fun. I know this is just a hypothetical what-if thread. It's just one of my pet peeves when people decide to keep wild animals in their homes. >.<

I volunteer at a humane society at school and I'm really active when it comes to animal issues. I'm not a crazy PETA person (quite the contrary... what they're doing isn't helping anyone), but I also think it's important to get these kind of facts out there. We had some kid that kept a baby mountain lion in their dorm many years ago! D:

Sometimes I just don't know what people are thinking. It's horrible... like the people that throw baby alligators and crocodiles into the sewers once they get bigger. And then some of those same people think they can just turn those animals over to an animal shelter... which is insane! Shelters are not backed by the government and receive all their money through donations and rely on volunteers to keep running. None of them are equipped to house exotic animals... most can't even take birds or rabbits. Wild animals can't just be let back into their native habitats... they'd never survive and are unfortunately euthanized in most cases. T___T

Well, that's pretty tough considering that my two fave animals are toads and slugs, but I think if I could choose anything exotic I'd choose one out of these:

I would want cats. Lots of them. Yay. And panthers. They are so beautiful wovles too.

We see a lot of people around here that put puppies in the paper that they say are husky/wolf mixes.

Am I limited to existing animals? For any of you who know of the manga group named CLAMP. We all know two twin animals one white and one black called Mokona. I would love to have those two. I'd never get bored of the alcoholic drinking Black Mokona and the white Mokona could make up nick names for my friends. They also would make good plushies.

As for existing animals I would definitely want a fennec fox. They are the cutest little things but are very difficult to take care of when it comes to their dietary needs. And they are nocturnal animals so I wouldn't be able to play with them as often. So that would be my dream pet.

I'd want an elephant! They're my favorite animal.

I would love to have... a Unicorn!
I've always been obsessed over those mythical creatures since I my eyes laid on them. Plus- my dad really liked unicorns and one of the memories I had of him from when we were on 'good terms' was a night where we slept in his bed and he told me all the stories behind the unicorn statues and pictures that he had collected.

I would have to say a dragon. And not just a lap-dragon, but a dragon at least the size of a horse, if not larger. I would have to raise this dragon from birth, of course, so that it would know me and defend me as its mother.

I would prefer a purple and blue dragon with green and gold accents. :)

I would want a monkey. Since my roommate in washington wouldnt let me get one.. bitch T_T

While it doesn't seem adventurous, i would absolutely LOVE a hedgehog, of any breed. <3 They are so adoreable, and spikey, and make such cute grunting noises. and *squee*
I also wouldn't mind a Komodo Dragon to be honest... Those things are awsome.
And Triops. <3 They're adoreable.

I adore dolphins! Hard to keep as a pet but aren't they cool! And sea turtles are my next favorite animal from the ocean.

Land animals that I like include, horses, all cat species, all dog / wolf species, and everything furry :)
