How about room mates? Like, say, two guys have recently moved out of their home(s) and into a small apartment. They've been friends for a while, but never that close of friends, only becoming closer now that they live together.

One of the guys pays the majority of the rent, etc., and works to do so. He is the more responsible of the two, although probably not by far. The other is a bit more of a mooch, staying home all day and lazing around, or going out with friends, not adding so much the income of the house. But the first guy doesn't mind so much (at least not enough to kick his room mate out), because they've been friends for a while and that's how its always been.

Guy one, or the more responsible room mate, has a job but has graduated school. He's preferably older. The other guy, or the more mooching room mate, can either still be attending school or have dropped out, depending on which one you'd like to play/your preference on it.

As they go about their everyday lives they end up finding themselves drawn to each other, even rather attracted to each other. They have friends in common, though, so their relationship is mostly (at first) kept a secret between the two of them, as it would be strange to come out about it to their friends, etc.

If you aren't as fond with that, I can try to come up with something else. Or feel free to add or modify anything about it, if you want.

That sounds excellent and I would like to play number one guy if you don't mind. But ya it sounds like an excellent idea.

Hm, if you are still searching for a RP partner, I'm interested in pretty much anything, although rather not based on existing books/games/anime. So I suppose that would be either fantasy or modern setting for me. I do both like human and non-human races, and I don't mind playing either of them.
I suppose we are in completely different timezones (I am living in Europe, GMT +1) and English isn't my native tongue. If interested, I hope you don't mind either?

I'm fine with the timezones being off (part of the pleasure of RPing over forums, etc. is that you have so much time to respond), and also with English not being your first language. So far, your English seems rather good to me. :)

I'm feeling pretty open myself to almost any type of RP right now, if you have any ideas/something in particular you'd like to do.

Otherwise, since you said you're interested in pretty much anything, I'll try to come up with some ideas if you'd like, so we could narrow it down. :yes:

Thank you. Yeah, I live in the Netherlands and as barely anyone speaks Dutch, most people here speak English fairly well. Still, I sometimes make stupid mistakes. Hope you won't mind them. xD

I have no particular wishes at this moment, and I'm indeed interested in pretty much anything, so if you could come up with some ideas, I'd be willing to take a look at them and perhaps we can make a choice then. :)

This one is sort of a cyberpunk setting, etc. General back story to most things like this, I'd say, although I'm not that experienced with cyberpunk (so if you'd like to do it, and you aren't either, theres certainly no problem with that.)

- Futuristic, although not too far from modern times now. The government holds very little authority over society, despite the fact they'd like to think otherwise. Whoever said 'popularity isn't everything,' was strongly mistaken, as in today's world, the more people you know the better off you are. Its all about connections. Hackers rule the webs and, considering almost all technology, if not all of society depends on and is connected to online networks, you could even say hackers decide everything.

The majority of the 'real, living and waking' world has fallen to slums and pollution, so most of society has come to depend on an online world, living strictly by it. It's basically a copy of how things used to be, a more pleasant, in a sense utopia of the current state of things. A lot of people with opinion but little power believe this is just the government's way of covering up their mistakes, by letting everyone live in a false reality. Others, mainly hackers, could argue otherwise, if only because they'd like to live in their ignorance for the fact that this virtual reality online world is at the tips of their fingers.

The next is more.. older fashion fantasy. This would really call for any race/class you want.

General fantasy world, etc.

The world is filled with many treasures, monsters, and adventure. In it, a certain kingdom (I'm horrible with names so.. excuse the lack of name for this 'kingdom') has been searching far and wide for warriors to partake in their quest, one which offers a high reward. Two adventurers take it up, for one reason or another, and are forced to work together to complete it, by the King's orders. (in ideal, these adventurers would be our characters, of course.) The original quest seemed very simple, as all they had to do was regain a unnamed treasure of the kingdom's from another neighboring kingdom.

The neighboring kingdom is a lot less civilized, however, and a lot further away then was expected. What had started out as an easy deal turned into a lot of trouble for the adventurers, as they carry on through many different challenges and landscapes together, as well as partake in some side-quests. They start to get to know each other better through all their experiences. (Or, instead of being complete strangers off the bat, they could have known each other before hand, taking up the quest together as colleagues already)

This one is the same idea of setting, etc. Any race, etc.

However, in this one the kingdom's prince is in need of a body guard in his travels. The prince's adviser, who never really had much for good intentions, ends up hiring some random - who probably couldn't be well trusted. Yet, as the prince travels to a nearby kingdom with his new body guard, the prince ends up convincing him to just run off course him with. The prince never cared much to be royalty, and would rather partake in mindless adventure. Him and his body guard take off, and end up living the life of adventurers, taking on whatever challenges await them.

(in ideal, the prince isn't completely useless, or anything. He's well capable of looking after himself, sort of thing, has his own weaponry and/or skill, yet was still assigned this body guard.)

(I don't mind whether I play the prince or the body guard.)

The last one is probably the closest thing to modern I can think of at the moment, and its still rather fantasy. This is generally human/demon races.

It's modern setting, taking place in a big city, say. One of its older tourist attractions is its near ancient library, although the average citizens of the city have never found it that exciting. Yet, recently various people have been coming across rather odd books, ones that would certainly change their lives for some time, if not their beliefs in general.

These books hold the captured souls of demons, who are released upon reading. These demons can only be seen by the person who opened the book and freed them in the first place, that and whoever else has opened another book with a demon in it. Because of this, whoever has one of these devilish companions are capable of recognizing each other. Interestingly enough, however, this phenomenon hasn't become common knowledge, or even anything beyond rumor amongst school girls.

The power hungry devils have convinced their human finders to meet up with others, so that they might come in contact with other demons. In some cases the demon has more or less possessed the human, giving them inhuman power or even traits, and in others they're a separate identity/being/companion.

For this one I'd be willing to do one of these two:

1 - One of us plays the human, the other the 'summoned' demon (I'd be willing to play either role), and they go about the humans everyday life. With conflict from others (NPCs) that also have demons, etc. Their bond grows through having to constantly be with each other.

2 - We both play humans and their demons whom they've summoned. The humans end up becoming friends, etc, from realizing they're both people with these demons. They go through everyday life as well, and end up in conflict with others (NPCs), if not each other.

I'd strongly prefer option '2' though, if we did this idea.

But if you'd like to suggest/add anything, or if you'd like for me to try to come up with something else yet still, feel free to mention~)

Of course, all of these ideas would involve some form of romance, although the amount of it can be major or small depending on your desires.

Hm, I don't mind having to wait some time. You weren't even that slow, considering the amount of ideas you wrote out.
I do like them all, so it's not such an easy choice. Do you have any preference yourself?
I must say they are nice ideas. :) If not, I suggest we go for either 2 or 3. :) But like I said, I like them all, so if you prefer 1 or 4 instead, that's okay as well. :)
Some form of romance, yes, the amount of it would depend on what you prefer, since I like either major or small (although I prefer it is NOT nearly non-existent, if you don't mind. I like romance. xD)

(If 'two,' I suppose the only thing to figure out -- asides from our characters, is if they should be complete strangers on uptaking the quest, or already know each other. I'll leave that up to you, if you don't mind..

And if 'three,' then whether you'd like to play the prince or the body guard. I'm really fond of either of the roles, so I'm going to let you choose on that, too.)

Of course. I don't mind what age your character is, and if you'd like me to change mine for any reason, please say so. Although, I'd prefer mine to be around the 19-21 age for this. His name will be Rainer.

Edit: Forgot to add, he's human. I also do not mind whatever race you wish your character to be.

Evan is fine by me. I'm not the best with names myself (I assure you, I've gone through name list, after name list, after random generator every time I've had to come up with a character.. It's tough, I agree.)

One of my main problems is that I tend to write a lot, and I don't want multiple characters with the same or similar (like Raine and Rayne) names, for it tends to get confusing.

:sweat: I know what you mean by that.

I've made that mistake;; quite painful to avoid messing things up/confusing things at that point, I find.

I have three versions of the same story - I plan on somehow bringing them back to one story one day - and that's damn confusing already, since they are the same characters.
However, I was stupid enough to have another story where a main character had the same name as one of the side characters in the other story. And now in one version, that side-character turned main-character. Hard to continue whichever one of them.

Anyway, I'm trying to type up a starting post for the RP. :)

Haha, wow, that must be. You could always try renaming them even slightly, since even a variant of one name might be less confusing than having two of the same name. Yet I see your troubles. :sweat:
