'School tragedy'

[x Academy]
((For my lack of a better name. . . ))

An all boys boarding school, x Academy, was previously known for its clean records and well graded students. Now, mystery has enveloped the building, and it's fine reputation has been smeared. The school has been captured in eternal night, and the darkness has brought along a fearsome advisory. Unknown terror has been plaguing x Academy, and no one has been capable of leaving, or getting in. Students and teachers alike have been disappearing, and those left within are forced to find a way to survive the unknown creature(s) that have been causing them.

Personality: Seth is persistent, charismatic and caring. But he can also be slightly manipulative and stubborn; the young man likes to get his way.

Lex wondered though the empty halls. He wondered were is everyone. He walked into a classroom. It was wrecked. He said "What happened in here??"

A young student, Seth, began rubbing his eye with his knuckle, feeling groggily as ever. A near restless night, he had paranoidly fallen asleep, and only to wake up to darkness. It was as if the sun was destined to never shine through the windows of the academy again. All the other pupils had slowly disappeared, and the young man hadn't yet clued together why. Even his teachers were no where to be found.

Extending his hand from his bed, Seth hit a lamp. At first, it only lit up dimmly, barely dispelling the shadows of his dorm room. The second hit made the bulb brighter, displaying a more satisfying ray of light. The student's lips curved into a small smile.

The young man stepped up to his dorm door, unlocking and opening it as if it was any other day, stepping out into the empty hallways. The only thing he brought with him was a flashlight - just in case, but all he was looking for was other students. He wondered if everyone hadn't just gone home, and he was paranoid for nothing. After all, he'd never seen anything weird in the school yet. That didn't explain the ever going night, or the disastrous wrecks it was in, though.

"Hello?" He called, half-pointlessly, allowing his voice to echo into the shadows of the hallways. He began walking down the hall, pointing the flashlight companion he'd brought with him as to brighten up the place. For some reason, the lights in his dorm hall wouldn't turn on; Seth could only assume they'd been on a different circuit than the rest of the outlets in the rooms.

He moved on, thinking he had heard something from a nearby classroom. Seth nearly ran, hoping to find another student, but paced himself for safety. "Anyone else here?" He called again. The entire atmosphere almost reminded him of a horror movie, where the person in the horror movie never would have been caught had they kept their mouth shut. But, Seth decided this was a lot different than any Hollywood plot he could put himself into.

Lex heard the calling of another person. He opened the door. He walked out of the room and looked down the corridor. He saw something moving in the shadows. He called out into the darkness "Hello" There was no reply so walked down the corridor in the direction he saw the movement.

There in the shadows was a boy. Lex had never seen him before. he said to the boy "Hello" The boy looked around and saw Lex. Lex waited for his reply but nothing came "Do you know whats going on here? Were is everyone" Lex said to the boy.

Seth nearly jumped when he spotted the other boy, unable to respond to his greeting in the rush of it all. Yet, the young man was relieved someone else was actually here - and someone who didn't seem to be a threat. He hadn't understood how he could have missed him, yet the academy was fairly large, so it was at least believable.

"No," Seth replied, taking a short breath before continuing, "...I don't know. I was hoping you would!" He brushed some of the hair out of his face, looking towards the other student. Something seemed a bit odd about him, but Seth shrugged it off.

"I'm Seth, by the way," He introduced, holding out his hand so Lex might shake it. "I'm sure at this point it's a redundant question, but, you don't know a way out of here, do you?"

As the boy had introduced himself Lex thought he would "The names Lex by the way and i have no idea how to get out of here." Lex looked at him and thought maybe i have seen him around he does look familar.

Seth smiled, placing his previously out stretched hand in his pocket. "Yeah, I didn't think so. I haven't even heard anyone else around for a while, I was surprised to run into you."

The young man paused, put a finger to his lip. "How long have you attended, Lex?" He asked, assuming his new acquaintance was also a student here. It's not like it was a very important question, but for the moment, he was just glad to have someone else to talk to, so it'd have to make do for conversation.

Seth began to slowly walk on, to look around, assuming that Lex would come with him.

"Me to" Lex said telling Seth. Lex saw that Seth had began to walk. Lex followed him he didn't want to be by himself. He may have been a Vampire but he a soft Vampire and hated to be lonley. "I've been a student here for about a week or so. So that probably why you've never ran into me before"

Seth laughed slightly, as if trying to lighten the eerie mood the school's emptiness seemed to set in. "What a first week this must have been for you, coming only to have all of this happen..."

Seth looked over at Lex as he walked, turning a corner and heading towards two large doors. One of many entrances to the schools' cafe, and it denoted so with a overhanging sign, reading 'CAFETERIA,' in large, bold print. He entered, flung his flashlight around to check if anyone was there, and then hit a light switch relatively close to the doors he'd came through. With any luck, the cafeteria's lights still worked. Curiously enough, though, every time Seth had turned them on, he always came back to find them off again. "You haven't been the one turning the lights all off on me, have you?" He asked Lex, jokingly. As they stood together he noticed Lex to be a bit taller.

Seth flicked his flashlight off, seeing as with the lights now on, it was a bit pointless. He looked to Lex, then lifted himself up onto the cafeteria's serving counter, jumping over it. Seth entered a door on the other side, presumably where he knew the kitchen to be located, and came back out with an apple - still decent as far as expirey goes.

"If you're hungry, there's still food back there," Seth said, pointing towards the kitchen door he'd just gotten the apple from. He figured Lex already had some idea of that though, if he had survived the time being, in the school alone; unaware that his new friend was really a vampire.

Lex and Seth walked into the cafeteria "Um. No i'm not hungry" Lex replied. He could not tell his new friend that he was a vampire. If he did then Seth would probably be scared of him and try to get him.

"Suit yourself," Seth said, taking a bite of his apple. "I've checked everywhere I can think of already, but, care to look for a way out?" He suggested, now ready to leave the cafe.

"None of the doors seem to open, or even budge. I was considering getting a torch from welding and seeing if I couldn't just melt one away, or off its hinges, but all the torches were missing, or broken. It's the strangest thing." Seth peered out a nearby window as he spoke, still polishing off his apple.

"Even the windows won't break. And if they did, I don't know if what's out there is any safer than in here, with everyone disappearing. I know the days have passed, but, there's never been a break of day. It's just night out there," He said, recapping what he figured Lex already knew.

"Everyone is just.. gone." Before he could finish, or even get another breath in, Seth was interrupted by a large bang down the other end of the hall. Startled, the young man dropped his apple, then turned sharply to Lex.

"Wha-... What do you think that was?" He asked, trying to find reassurance. It had been awfully loud, but he tried to calm himself by explaining it rationally: "Could it be another student? No one was with you before, right?"

Lex looked around and said "Hopefully it was. Shall we go and look" Lex walked to the door and looked out into the corridor. He couldn't see anything. He called out into the darkness "Hello.. Anyone there!!"

Seth, right behind him, also yelled out, not that he felt it made too much of a difference. "Someone out there?"

There wasn't a response, or even another noise. The teen was a bit creeped, but re-turning on his flashlight, he moved forward towards where the large bang had originated from, going to investigate. When Seth reached what he could only assume was the source, he laughed. Mostly at himself, for having been scared of such a simple thing.

"Lex, come look at this!" He shouted, over his shoulder. There, sprawled across the floor, was the remains of what had been a large pile of books, as well as a heavy metal lock, which must have been loose and fell. There was an open locker from which the books had fallen from, and it was stuffed. The teen figured it was the quietness of the school, or the echo of the hallways that made it seem so loud.

Despite being glad it hadn't been some sort of boogeyman, vicious beast or serial killer, Seth was slightly disappointed that they hadn't found someone else, as in the empty school, it felt like the more the merrier. When he was done laughing over the event, he figured he'd try to continue his conversation with Lex.

"Hey, Lex, do you have a dorm room?" He asked, knowing not all students took residence at the school, some still went home after their classes.

Seth came back over to Lex. He replied to Seth's question "Yeah i do. This way." Lex began to walk towards his dorm. "It's just down there and up the stairs. Come" They began to walk down the corridor. When lex heard a creaking sound but it was only the floorboards. Lex forgot that there was a creaky one near his dorm.

Seth nodded, following him to his room. At first, Seth kept a few steps between them, leaving Lex to his distance. But as it felt like the darkness was creeping up on them, the teen was only reminded of how scary the school felt. He ended up walking closer to Lex, almost bumping arms with him.

Seth's arm brushed against Lex's "were nearly there" Lex said. They turned the cornor. "It's just up here." They continued down the corridor. Lex stopped at his door. He searched in his pocket for his key. He pulled it out of his pocket and put it into the lock. He opened the door. "Come in"Lex walked into the room and made himself comfort on his bed.

"Alright," Seth said, as they entered the dorm. The teen looked around inside, and closed the door behind him, since he was the last one in. He watched Lex make himself comfortable, and then pulled up a chair and took a seat near Lex's bed. Seth stretched out and leaned back into a more relaxing position.

"So, what's your story?" Seth asked, looking up towards the ceiling as he did, then back to Lex. "Friends, family?" He paused, raising another question as it came to mind, "Got any plans once you get out of here?"

Lex wanted to say "Eat you" but because he did want to say that he said "Well i not really sure. I just want to make it though today so i can see my mom,dad, and bro" Lex looked at Seth. Lex could sense that Seth was scared and lex said to him "Are you ok?"

"Just a bit nervous," Seth explained, not wanting to actually say he was frightened. "Just anxious to leave," he added, further trying to mask any fear he might be showing. He smiled weakly.

The teen looked at Lex for a second and then his eyes darted across the room, as if he was trying to find something else to keep his mind on. "What do you think it is, that's making everyone disappear?"

Despite that he was trying to keep up a conversation, Seth was now feeling kind of edgy. He tried to dismiss his paranoia, but found it hard to do.

"I'm a bit anxious too, about what's it is making the students disappear" Lex told Seth. Lex thought that if he said to Seth that he felt the same seth would probably relax a bit. "So tell me a bit about yourself so as to take your mind what is happening around us"

Seth smiled, the reassurance helped, put his mind at a bit more ease. He took a second to think about his next response, about what he might want to say if he were to talk about himself.

"There isn't much to say," Seth responded. "I'd been at the school for a while. Most of my family lives on reserves, and I've never been that fond of making the visit. So I just stayed here, worked on my grades.."

He shifted his position on the chair a bit, and paused to think again before continuing. "Nothing weird has ever happened here before, well.. this. As long as I've been here, at least," He mentioned. The teen stopped himself, realizing he was drifting a bit off topic - but he really didn't feel he had much to say about himself.

"What about your family?" Seth asked, wanting to know more about the mother, father and brother Lex had prior mentioned.

"Oh!" Lex said the Seth. "There not really that interesing." Lex looked at Seth again. Lex thought He seems trustworthy i can tell him." I guess they are sort of interesting but that is only my brother. My brother is a famous Actor. My mom and Dad are always paying more attention to him then me. Thats why i came here to get away from them because it was always Jonas this Jonas that. It would really annoy me i never knew if people were my friends because they wanted to be or to get to my brother." Lex was hoping that Seth believed this. It wasn't fully a lie because his brother was a top actor but that was in the 1900's when he was alive. The lie was that he did not really have a brother. They were so close it seemed like they were brothers. The the other lie was that his mother and father weren't really that they weren't really that. The person he called his father was his creator and the peron he called his mother was his wife.

"Really?" Seth exclaimed. "That must be interesting, having a famous actor as a brother..." He said, trailing off. He wondered if he had ever heard of him, but couldn't relate the name to any actor he knew of. "But I can see how that must get irritating. I'd be bothered too, if I was in your place..."

Seth waited for a bit, then moved his chair closer to Lex's bed. He ran a hand through a strand of his own hair, shaking his head to move bangs from his face, and looked up at Lex. He'd never had a problem with entertaining himself in the past, but now that he was locked up in an empty school, Seth wondered what he and Lex were to do for amusement.

"Got any hobbies?" The teen asked, he almost felt like he had been interviewing Lex, with all the questions he'd been asking.

Lex thouht to himself finally someone who understands Lex ruffled his hair a bit and sat up on the bed. He turned to seth and said to him "Well that depends on what you call a hobby" Lex gave Seth a cheeky smile and then winked to him

Seth gave Lex a slightly odd look, not exactly sure what he had meant by what he said. "What do you consider hobbies?" Seth asked again, rephrasing his question; perhaps into a whole new one.

The teen pushed his chair back a bit, grinned at him.
