"Well Hunting Hu.... Rabbit" Lex had nearly let slip to Seth that he wasn't human with what he said. Lex took in a deep breath. He wanted to make sure that he didn't smell Seth to much. It had been nearly a week since he had fed and he was getting hungry. Lex thought to himself I don't want to hurt Seth. Seth had been the first person in the school who had not treated Seth like an outcast or a loser.

Seth questioned Lex's pronounciation for a second, thinking he was going to say something else, other than rabbit. "Eh. You hunt often, Lex?" He said, it seemed as if his new friend was becoming a bit uncomfortable. The teen shrugged it off, assuming he might just be paranoid about everything, too.

Seth leaned forward slightly, looking down towards his feet. He stopped and picked up something small, an insect. "Looks like there's bugs in the dorms," The teen said, scrunching his face a little. There hadn't been much of a problem with any infestation before, but then again, it seemed as if the tiny buggers always found a way to get in places where you least expected them.

Lex looked at the bug and said "yeah i guess i should say something about that" Lex however knew about the bugs as the were attrated to Vampires. Lex looked at Seth and said "about the hunting i've not been in about a week"

"Really?" Seth said. "Maybe you'll get to go hunting when we finally get out, then. Do you eat your catches?" The young man was referring to rabbits, unknowing that the entire hunting conversation was really more towards humans.

"Yeah. Maybe." Lex said. He was uneasy about telling Seth about that whole hunting thing. "yeah i do. Have you ever gone hunting?"

Seth took a moment to think about Lex's question. There had been one time, when he was younger, but the teen decided not to count it. "Not really," he answered sheepishly. "I don't mind fishing though..."

He turned slightly and looked at the door of Lex's dorm. He couldn't keep his mind off curiosities about their current situation, as paranoid as it made him be to think about them. "Why do you think its so dark.." He asked, although it had been said more so as if he was thinking to himself out loud. Seth couldn't even vaguely imagine an decent, educated response or reason to his own question.

In his thought, the teen stood up and walked over to the door, turning back to Lex with his hand on the knob. "I'm gunna go explore some more, Lex. You should come," He said, not wanting to leave Lex, afraid he'd never see him again if he did.

Lex said straight away "Yeah. lets go and explore" Lex was because even though was not really scared he didn't want to be left behind.Lex looked at Seth and said" You know about you question about the Darkness. i'm not sure why it's here"

"It's so weird, I've never seen something like it.. I've never even heard of something like it," Seth said as he stepped out of the dorm and back into the school's hallways, commenting once again on the darkness.

The teen stared down the hall, and then looked back at Lex, and smirked. "I'll race you," He laughed, almost running off before he even finished the sentence. It was a long hallway, so there was quite some distance for them to cover. Somehow, the light hearted challenge made Seth a lot less afraid, his mind now focused on friendly competition.

"Sure" Lex said. He began to run better let him stay ahead for a little bit he thought. Lex smiled and began to speed up. "this is great" Lex said speeding up even more. "How much longer is this corridor?" Lex said as he wasn't sure

"Yeah..!" Seth said, grinning. He'd got a head start but as Lex began to quicken his pace, he would beat him soon.

"Not too much!" The teen said, turning to face Lex just as Seth fell behind in their race. "Why? You getting tired?"

When they'd finally reached the end Seth was panting lightly. He held his hands on his knees and looked up to Lex. "You win.. You're fast," He remarked with a smile. As Seth stood up he began to walk further towards one of the larger laboratory rooms, bringing Lex along with him.

"You were talking about your family earlier, Lex. You don't have like, a girlfriend or something?" He asked. Secretly the teen hoped the answer would be 'no,' yet he didn't want to show any signs of this, as he hadn't wanted to make it awkward for his new friend.

"You learn to be when your brothers fans are chasing after you." Lex said to Seth in return to his comment about Lex being fast. Lex looked at Seth and wondered why he had asked if he had a girlfriend. Of course the answer was no. He had not had a girlfriend since he became a vampire because was scared if he got to close to them he would end up feeding on them. "No" Lex replied

Seth laughed lightly at Lex's remark. "I guess you would learn to," He said. The teen couldn't help but smile, knowing Lex had no girlfriend. Yet, still, he would sympathize.

"Why not? You seem like a good guy," Seth asked, bumping into Lex's shoulder accidentally as they walked. The teen later took a quick turn into the room he'd been heading to. It was full of empty and even some overturned desks, larger counters surrounding the sides up against the walls, equip with sinks and shelves full of books, jars and tools. There was one main counter at the very front, with beakers stationed on top and ready, as well as a bunsen burner, and a black board behind it. It was, presumably, the teacher's work station - if there had been any teacher about. There were scribbles on the blackboard in white chalk.

"It was kind of creepy, when I found this room like this," Seth explained, staring towards the writing on the blackboard. Part of it was whatever lesson had been trying to be taught before the class was disrupted, the rest was erased and replaced with a students messy hand writing. It looked like a journal of sorts, yet it was scribbled and most of the writing was hard to make out.

"I wish I had looked sooner, maybe someone would have been here before," Seth said. The board, or at least the eligible portions that'd been written by a student, spoke of how everyone was disappearing, and, some sort of monster to go with it. "I can't even read it all, but it gets you thinking, what it could be that's gotten to everyone..."

Lex followed Seth into the room and said to him "I don't think i'm ready after what happened to Sarah." Sarah had been both Lex's best friend and girlfriend when he was human. In the weeks after Lex's disppearance Sarah was beside herself with grief and Lex hated being able to see it. On a dark night about a month after Lex's disappearance there was a call saying that they had found a body and it was Lex's. Sarah heard this and the same night she snook out of her room and she took her own life by jumping of the cliff were Lex was supposed to have died.

Lex sat on the table by the board and looked at the writing and said "Yeah it does make you wonder"

Seth nodded in vague understanding of Lex's response, assuming he shouldn't stick his nose in his business, and leaving it at that. He felt a tinge of sympathy for his friend, however, even without knowing the back story to who Sarah was.

The teen read the writing over one last time, then sat there in silence for a while. He walked to the door frame and then looked at Lex. "We could goto the pool, if you like to swim.." Seth mentioned.

"Yeah i guess we could. It would take are mind away from what was happening here." Lex said walking over to Seth who was stood in the doorway. They walked into the corridor and Lex to Seth as he wasn't sure were the pool was "Lead the way"

Seth smiled and began to walk down the hall, eventually going into doors that led to a gymnasium, and then through more inside the gymnasium. The room they were in smelled heavily of chlorine, and as the teen hit the light switch, a wide, open pool was in view. Seth took off his shoes, socks and pants and went over to the edge of the pool, dipping his feet in. He removed the rest of his clothes, leaving him in only his boxers to swim, as he hadn't brought any swim wear.

Seth dived into the pool with a splash, swimming back up to the surface to look over to Lex. "Come on in!"

The teen hadn't gone swimming since everyone disappeared, finding the empty pool room to be rather eerie, but now that someone else was with him it didn't seem so bad.

Lex saw Seth in the water and he relaxed nothing was going to happen with lex removed his clothes and jumped straight into the pull because he knew if he didn't just jump he wouldn't get in at all.

Seth covered his eyes with his arm from the water that splashed up when Lex jumped in. The teen, swimming in place, looked to Lex and shouted, "See! The water is fine."

He swam around for a while before diving under the water, coming back up half way down the pool for a heavy breath of air. Seth was trying hard to enjoy himself, since there hadn't been much time for it with all that'd been happening recently, yet he couldn't help by find himself fearing whatever was out there. If there was some sort of horrible monsters, the pool wasn't where he wanted to be when they caught up to him.

Seth swam over to Lex and grinned. He again dove under the water and grabbed Lex's arm, pulling him with him.

Lex was pulled under the water he of course didn't have to breathe but he puffed out his cheeks to make it look like he was holding in air. He broke free from Seth and swam down the pool. He stopped about half and came up. He looked at Seth and said "I can't believe you did that"

Seth just laughed. "Lighten up Lex, have some fun!"

It was hard for the teen to even believe his own words, as his paranoia was growing rapidly.
The young man climbed to the edge of the pool, lifting himself up. Water dripped off of him and back into the pool, and he walked over to a hamper in the corner, picking up a towel to dry himself off. Wrapped in his towel he sat down, watching Lex in the water. "I don't want to stay here too long," Seth mentioned.

"Sure" Lex said swimming to the edge of the pool. He pulled himself out of the water and like Seth had done he went over to the hamper and pulled out a towel to dry himself with. When he had he tied the towel around around his waist and went over to Seth and sat with him. "So were to now" Lex asked.

"Anywhere you wanna go?" Seth asked, he knew his way around the school decently so he'd be able to lead the way if Lex didn't know where something was. Seth walked over to his clothes and picked them up, putting only his shoes back on.

"Uh, actually.. I think I'm going to get a new change of clothes, back in my dorm. Then we'll go somewhere. You can come with me if you'd like," The teen said. It was a weird invitation, but once again he hadn't wanted to be separated from Lex.

"Sure" Lex said he to didn't want to be left alone. He walked over to his clothes and put his top on because he felt a bit cold but he didn't but he trouser's back on because his boxer's were still wet. He walked over to Seth who was by the door and he said "Lead the way"

Seth smiled, and made his way down the halls, and up a stair case till he reached his room. He opened the door and let Lex enter first, apparently not very embarrassed that his dorm was a complete mess. He'd even set up barricades in his fear, and it must have looked odd. But, Seth shrugged it off.

The teen set his clothes down and then picked some others out of an already open draw, going into a separate bathroom to change into them. "Sorry 'bout the mess," Seth finally apologized as he came back out. It didn't really matter to him, though, cleaning your room wasn't exactly something he thought of with all the weird things that'd been going on.

Seth sat down for a couple of seconds and then opened his door up again, ready to leave. "We can goto your room if you need to change.. or I'm cool if you want to borrow some of my clothes," Seth said.

Before leaving he heard an inhuman screech from down the hall, and quickly slammed his door shut. Jumping back the teen began to push a book case in front of his door, and spoke to Lex in quite a panicked tone, "Did.. did you hear that?!"

Lex said "yeah i did" The sound a defiantly freaked Seth out. It had sorted scared Lex but not to much. "What was that? I can't have been human" He help Seth to push the bookcase in front of the door.
