I would never want to cook for that many, cooking for 5 was hassle enough. It's okay, though alot colder, having to adjust to have electric storage heating as opposed to gas central..luckily they are renovating the blocks up here so it should make it warmer when that happens.
The flats I'm living in were built in the 60's so they need updating lol

but yes, I would think the past day would have been very hectic for you, with the database down for a bit, and users wanting the event to start but it not ready.

Thank you kisskiss :) Bisque made it. She has a thread in here for free cookies. You should pay her a visit. She's very nice.

sayuri, I can imagine. I don't like to be cold and here in AZ it snowed this morning. Not a big deal to many people but for us, it's so random. We have gas central heating but we also have little space heaters that work to warm a small room so we don't have to turn the big furnace on if we can avoid it.

I love cooking and having big parties. I don't mind at all. It's easier if there is someone to help and a lot more fun.

Wrenja: It's not really our fault. We didn't chose to do it last minute. The NHS decided they would pay everyone on the 23rd. And my parents work all through the holidays.

@D: My parents would have done it in advance if they had the chance. I did. I like to makes sure everything is sorted out well in advance (:

I still have a few little odds and ends to buy after work tomorrow but the big shopping is already done.

Edit: I actually can sympathize with the people who legitimately cannot shop until the night before. I've lived paycheck to paycheck long enough and it sucks when you get paid a few days before and have to pay the bills first and see what is left over for gifts, if anything. Those that are lazy and just put it off until the last minute are the ones that don't get my sympathy.

I know! I feel bad for the store clerks and people in retail that have to put up with people like that. Everyone gets so stressed out. I just kind of roll with it anymore. I have enough gray hair. I don't need more due to unnecessary stress.

kisskiss, it isn't insane unless one is working cashier, I wouldn't midn doing stock as much during christmas, or even helper, though would have annoying stories, I just feel cashier is the worst.

I worked at Walmart when I was 22 years old. Nothing worse than layaway or customer service desk during Christmas time, especially when the boxes in layaway would get lost. I don't blame the people for being upset when stuff like that happens but it's not an easy thing to swallow when someone is screaming at you for something you had no control over and didn't do.

We never did find the boxes either. I think they were probably stolen.

working stock is cool, but the few weeks before christmas, I'd honestly rather cashier, it's not fun facing down 170 boxes at a time.
