"Alright.. alright I'm coming... didn't say I'd necessisarily enjoy it..." Seneth complained, carefully taking a step down, so not to loose his balance and embarass himself infront of the "true" demon.

Seneth nodded to Niflh when he was ready to coninue, not sure where this endless flight of stairs would lead.

"Hurry!" Niflh said, impatiently scurrying down the stairs until they began to lead up. Midway up this structure there was another door, and the demon opened it, allowing Seneth to go in first. If they waited till the house's next shift, both stairs would lead no where, and they'd be stuck, so this door was their only way out of the staircase.

He looked back to Seneth for a second, over his shoulder, and smiled. "I didn't say you'd have to enjoy it," He responded. "..I will, though."

On the other side of the door was the stone maze Niflh had expected. However, he his previous grins and smiles were all at a loss as they turned into a heavy frown, seeing that the maze was filled with ankle deep water. "Well that's different," Niflh scowled, waiting for Seneth so they might proceed through the maze.

"Great..." Seneth rolled his eyes. "Water... cause cats just love water...." placing the emphasis on cats. Frowning at Niflh he followed slowly.

Niflh began through the maze, Seneth behind him. He didn't quite catch on to what Seneth meant by cats loving water, but proceeded none the less. The demon would have liked to say that he knew the way through the maze off by heart, but like the rest of the inn, the maze changed and shifted far too much for him to be sure. It made it all the more challenging, and in this particular situation, the devil liked a challenge.

They'd begun to get lost in the heart of the maze when Niflh spotted a wide hole in the ground, its circumference covering so much between the maze's walls it would have been impossible to go around. For reasons beyond his logic, the water refused to drip into the hole, as if it, and only it, would not be effected by gravity. It did, however, wash over top of it. It gave the devil the thought that perhaps they could simply walk over the hole, but he was wrong. As he took a step forward, he began to fall.

"Follow, Seneth," He yelled, laughing lightly as if the fall were fun. When he hit the bottom he landed in a pile of books, and got out of the way for when Seneth made it down. The devil looked around, once again in the library he'd gone to earlier. He smirked as he saw a twisted corridor to their left, and planned to travel down it once Seneth caught up.

Seneth only grumbled at the command, however seeing no other way out he followed. He didn't land on a pile of books like Niflh. Instead he hovered down and stood next to the stack. "Well... what exactly is it you suspected? That I'd just fall? Me a demon?" He asked frowning slightly at Niflh. "So down the freaky looking corridor... great more mysteries.. I should never have left the bar.." He mumbled more to himself than anyone in particular.

Sighing heavily he began walking, "Come on.. let's get a move on..."

Niflh laughed at Seneth's commentary, apparently too light headed to take it as insulting or even dish out his own. As he took a few steps towards Seneth and the corridor, he found his tongue, allowing him to respond with something more suitable - at least, more than a laugh. "Don't worry, my dear, I wish I was still at your bar too... for the booze."

The demon followed behind Seneth hastily, jumping over a chandelier which hung from their version of the floor. It was only when Niflh took careful note of the proper floor acting as their ceiling, and the ornaments defying gravity, that the twisted corridor straightened itself out. Niflh fell once again, but this time landed on his feet.

He proceeded through the corridor with Seneth, but it seemed to lose its appeal to him now that it was no more diverse than the average one. Just as Niflh felt like the corridor had gone on for eternity, they were faced with a dead end. This time, it was Niflh who sighed.

The devil turned his head, looking for some sort of door or passageway out. Not seeing any apparent exits, he began to walk up to rather random placed picture frames. "There is always a way out," He lied, perhaps only to reassure himself.

The demon began to reach his hands through the frames, touching each oil painting , possibly questioning its very existence. His motives were later revealed as his arm went straight through one of the portraits, as if it was void of solid matter. Niflh didn't bother to wait for Seneth this time, figuring he'd just come along anyway - if not out of desperation to get back to his bar and out of the many other rooms of the inn. He climbed through the frame, disappearing to its other side.

Seneth stood there calmly. "Yeah cause I'm gonna walk though a painting and into a marry poppin's world. HA! As if..." Instead he leaned against the wall. "I believe I'll just wait it out. A door should appear in a few days..." He yawned softly.

((Welcome back from your trip off the face of the Earth!))

Noticing his companion's absence, Niflh ended up poking his head back through the frame and to the corridor. "Well, come on!" He hissed, impatiently. Despite his tone the devil was smiling, as if to welcome Seneth through the frame. "I will have to just assume you cannot climb," Niflh taunted, once again his choice method of tempting Seneth to go with him.

He was about to pull his head back through before adding, "Or I guess I could just go make a mess of your bar on my own..." The demon then went through to the other side of the portrait with a laugh.

The room he now stood in was small and empty. The only thing near furnishing was the backside of the painting he'd used as an entrance to it, and a single door facing across from it. Niflh waited for a second to see if Seneth would come after all, but if he didn't, he'd proceed on, on his own.

{Thanks.. got another one... 16-25}

Seneth growled, when he found away back that demon would be toast. Though he was sure that his bar would be distroyed and Ubel best friends with the idiot that appeared from a painting. Seneth mumbled something while feeling around the room he had been left in. "Stupid stupid Seneth.. stupid inn... stupid Ubel.. idiotic Niflh" After three sweeps of the room, he concluded that the painting was indeed the only damn way out... "Oh please let me still be a demon in a normal world..." It would be just like Metamorphose to land him in a world all cartooned, with big ballons and clowns that never frowned. Seneth shuddered and held his breat, not sure if water, since the portrait was of a few birds on a rock in the middle of a body of water, would meet him on the other side. Questioning his sanity he quickly climbed though.

Niflh had already made his way through the door that was on the other side of the room he'd been in from the portrait. He'd left it open a crack, in case Seneth felt like catching up by chance, then he would know where to go.

The devil was laughing, as if the contents of whatever room laid behind the door amused him greatly. And, indeed, it did amuse him greatly. The inn had been so kind to bring him him to one of his favored rooms, a treasury of sorts, where many lost trinkets, gadgets and items from often long deceased guests rest. Niflh eyed and later picked up a small music box, opening it carefully. He winced, almost expecting something to pop out, but instead there was just a simple, small ornament of a dancing girl; it was nothing unusual for a music box. In fact, the item was rather mundane.

The demon had to twist the small wind up key before the box would play and the girl would dance. Niflh soon found, although it was such a small box, its musical tune filled the entire of the large room, even to the vast, empty spaces of its furthest corners. "Seneth, if you're joining me there is much to see," Niflh said, rather loudly. He wasn't sure if Seneth could even hear him, or if he'd even crossed from the hall already. Yet, the devil still spoke as if he did possess such knowledge.

"Oh shut up will you? I am coming..." Seneth yelled though the door. Slowly he made his way in... "Holy mother....!!!" Seneth hissed eyeing the lost or broken treaures. "Well this is the town's biggest dump... for sure..." He chuckled and picked up a pocket watch, which had conviently stopped at exactly 3:01... percisely what his own watch read for a minute... Smiling he pocketed it. "no one'll miss it..." He sighed. "Where to know all knowing one?"

Niflh grabbed Seneth's upper arm, as if he was about to pull and lead him somewhere. He smirked slightly at Seneth's comment, even if it was probably meant in a more sarcastic note, the devil fancied the thought, or at least the self-belief of himself knowing a lot... even if he didn't.

"Why would you ever want to leave a room like this?" The demon laughed. Although the room was one a person might find themselves spending hours in, and not to mention one of his most beloved, he knew too much time in it would cause it to loose its charm, per se.

"If you bicker any more I will have to sew your mouth shut," Niflh teased, still holding onto Seneth's arm, moving his hand over his own mouth in a mock zipping motion with his free hand. He turned to face Seneth, with a pleasant smile, "Why don't you find the way out, this time?"

{I'll take the hint.....hehe}

"Me fina a way out? Of here?" He laughed and looked around, "With my luck there either isn't one... or it's a hole that I'll casually walk into not realizing until I hit something after hours of falling..." Seneth didn't have much of an imagination. He had picked up a story liek that a few years ago in his bar. The guy was long dead... and he wouldn't miss his tale. Stepping with caution Seneth closed his eyes and followed his sences.

(( I've got no problem with it~ no real hint intended, so don't worry. Its just how 'Niflh' takes it;;; ))

Niflh couldn't help but laugh as he realized Seneth's imagined possibility was coming true, as Seneth was about to step into an actual hole. Niflh almost wanted to just let him fall into it, or at least wait to see if he actually would. Yet, instead of doing so, the demon walked up and jumped into it himself, apparently wanting to go first.

"You found the way out," Niflh smirked, just as he disappeared into the dark of the hole. It was interesting how such things came about, this certainly wasn't the usual exit the demon found out of this sort of room. In fact, there was usually rather obvious doors behind some of the cluttered junk piles, yet Niflh wanted to have some fun and see where Seneth would bring them. He questioned if maybe Metamorphose hadn't brought the hole about after Seneth had mentioned such a thing, as if the inn itself had hears and could listen. He didn't doubt it.

The hole was certainly not hours deep, but when Niflh hit the bottom it was a familiar sight. They were back in more main rooms of the inn; or all the better, Seneth's bar. He waited for Seneth to drop down, but although they'd made it back, the devil wasn't going to let this be Seneth's last and only trip through Metamorphose.

"Oh great.. a giant hole.. how creative." Seneth exagerated, "this better end sometime..." He stated before stepping into it and falling down. He was quite surprised to see he was back in his own bar, surrounded by things he knew. "Alright... never again.... nope.. I like it here..." Seneth climbed behind his bar and Ubel joined them smiling and throwing more objects in his "collective" "Ubel you do live up to your name..." He chuckled and made himself a drink, "Want something?"

To Niflh's pleasant surprise, his previously left behind bottle of whiskey was still sitting, untouched, on the floor. He smiled at Ubel, glad Seneth's pet had left it, then picked it up, took a swig and went over to the costumer's side of the counter, facing Seneth.

"Shouldn't a bartender not be drinking when he's serving?" Niflh asked, in a teasing manner. It was a mock question, for he knew a single drink wouldn't get someone drunk, or further stunt their ability to make a drink.

"..Was your small adventure really that horrible?" The demon proceeded, a few moments after his last question. Although Seneth had seemed quite happy to be back at his bar, Niflh had plans to separate him from it again by tomorrow. "...And look on the bright side, your bar is not in ruins.." He said, with a laugh an a smirk to compliment it.

"Yes... and yes.. and no I don't care how many laws I'm breaking. As a demon I deserve a drink... I can't get drunk... tried.. didn't work.." He pulled out a cup and began pouring himself a mixture of stuff. "The only reason this room is still standing is a Ubel was here and b this place brings more unsuspecting guests to Metamorphose... and the inn likes that.." He added downing his drink quickly.

{Alright sorry about crappy posts I know they're crapping ad I'll try harder. However my January has very little "wiggle room" so I'm working with what comes to me at the moment February should be better.... I hope}

(( Haha, I don't find them bad. You take your time~ All is well. :) If you need a break at any point feel free to take a while to respond, its totally understandable and I'm relatively flexible. ))

Niflh laughed lightly. "You are an interesting one, bartender. You pick a social job and lead an anti social life," He said, leaning the side of his face onto his knuckles. "I am sure if your bar was to fall, you would find a new one, in the inn."

"Do you ever sleep, Seneth?" Niflh questioned. His eyes seemed to flicker with a hint of malice and ill intent as he did so. Yet, these poor intentions were truly more directed at one of the guests that sat near him, who was slowly dozing off; tired from his drinks. The demon smiled softly, if the guest was to retire to his room soon or even better, pass out here in the bar, it'd be an easy night for him.

{Thanks... it's just I'm leaving in a week so its chaotic...and such...}

"If my bar is to disappear, I'll gladly walk out of here and find another room to convert into a bar. And no for your information. I don't need sleep..." He eyed the sleeping man. "He better not break that bottle...." He warned softly. "Why exactly did you wish to know that. Only Ubel actually sleeps, as you can see.." He pointed to the rat, who was now asleep in his box of treasures.

((Ah, I see. Well I hope things get settled for you soon! ))

"That's a shame," Niflh commented, his eyes following Seneth's finger from the man to the snoozing rat. He stood back from the counter where he'd been leaning over.

"So all you do is work?" He asked, and followed it with a grin as his gaze went back to the drunken, sleeping man once again. Niflh had to hold that thought, and then add to it, "Then again, I suppose that is all you have to do in Metamorphose..."

The demon brushed himself off lightly, although there didn't seem to be any reason to. He left his bottle of whiskey on the counter, its contents had disappeared rather quickly and there was only around a quarter of it left. Niflh walked over to the sleeping man, lifting his foot to nudge at his side, make sure he was deep in his sleep. The man made a bit of a grunting noise, like he hadn't wanted to be disturbed, but was indeed far from waking up.

"I'll be back, my friend," Niflh said, flashing a grin at Seneth. He picked the man up and began to carry him out. He was slung over the devil's shoulder like a sack of potatoes, and Niflh seemed to be having an easy time doing so, even if the man was much larger than him in stature. "...Don't have too much fun without me," Niflh smiled, sarcasm on his tongue, now leaving the bar. It was by no means his job to bring immobile guests back to their rooms, but if anyone had the keys to do so, it was him.

Niflh had found a vacant room that was probably not even the man's, as he didn't care to check which one was. He set him down on the bed heavily, glad to not have to carry such a large guest any longer. The demon stood for few seconds in the dark of the room, doing what seemed as if nothing. The only difference was that his hand began to glow with a deep purple aura, something most would not have even noticed had there been any onlookers. Niflh left soon afterward, leaving the man to his now dreamless sleep. Interestingly enough, he had been experiencing quite the night terror. When the guest awoke the next morning, he wouldn't remember anything of the past day. Yet that didn't concern the demon as he made his way back over to the bar.

"Miss me?" Niflh asked, his heavy circlet of keys clapping at his side as he walked back over the counter, taking up his previous position. This time he pulled up a stool and sat cross legged on it.

{Thanks}

"Nope... though unfortunately I don't think that will make disappear..." he stated cleaning up and stacking the chairs since the bar was practically empty... only three others sat around, still drinking all alone. No one in Mentamorphose seemed to ever find a friend or life long companion... there were deffinately more than enough people.

"What does a bartender do when he runs out of customers, if he does not sleep?" Niflh asked, turning on his stool to continue to face Seneth as he stacked chairs. He seemed to be enjoying Seneth's company, even if Seneth did not enjoy his company.

"I know of many relaxing rooms you could visit," He said, although he was frowning slightly. That frown turned into the smallest of smiles as he added, "They don't involve getting lost in Metamorphose."

Niflh laughed at him, as if he'd taken what Seneth said the wrong way. "We simply take a step into a deep, never ending hole," He joked, chewing on his index finger lightly; a bored or perhaps even nervous habit he'd slowly developed.

"Ah, I assume that the sort of things that would make a room relaxing for you, would be to equip it with that which would make it most like a bar," Niflh said, once again not serious. He paused to think for a second, of which rooms he would care to make mention to, as if it mattered. "There is a hot bath, a much more comfortable lounge.. Oh, and, my room." Niflh added the last one in so nonchalantly it seemed like as much of a natural choice as the other two.

"Your room... and why exactly would I wish to go there?" He asked casually smiling as if he was actually considering the idea. "I'm not big on the hole idea though" He added as if he might actually agree. Meanwile Ubel was loudly talking in his sleep... moaning and screaming...
