Chinchillas are so cute. :D I see them at the pet store sometimes. But they're usually asleep.
I don't know if I could own one. I'm not so great with high-maintenance pets.

I have a little black teddy bear hamster. He usually wakes up just about the time I'm going to bed, and he doesn't like being woken up during the day (though it is funny when he's sleepy and crabby, so sometimes I wake him up anyway xD ), so I don't get to play with him a ton. But he seems fine with that. He doesn't mind being handled, but he doesn't love it.
Some teddy bear hamsters are really sweet and loving. Mine isn't. xD He isn't mean. He's just impartial to me. xD;

He'll be a year old sometime next month. ^^

i've allways wanted one, but i think that my kitters would eat it ._.

well my one cat gigi u can hold like a baby, and she even have her own stuffed animal she sleeps with ^^
the ironic thing about the stuffed animal is that its a dog xD

gigi is my baby cat and my other kitter kitkat is my scardy cat rofl

Every since I found out that our local Pet Smart sells female chinchillas, I've been dieing to have one of my own. Only trouble is that we have two cats who would probably think of one as a delicious snack. DX;

One of our kitties, Grace, will sometimes stand up a little on her hind legs if you hold your hand just above her head. She did that this morning, and just stayed standing on her hind legs leaning farther and farther back as we pet her... until she fell back on the kitchen floor. :D She wasn't hurt at all, but it was absolutely adorable! :heart:

you should never grab a chinchilla by the tail, thier tails are fragile and break easily, you are, however, supposed to hold on to the base of their tail (as close to the butt as possible) when holding them.

as for high maintenance.. they take the same amount of care as a hamster so it's super simple to keep up with them.

and you'll probably never see an awake chin at a pet store as they're nocturnal and sleep during the day ;)

When I talk to my chinchillas I call them enchiladas just because it's funny.

The latest cute thing mine have done is one was sleeping on top of the other. I was so happy to have snapped a picture before they moved. I would post it here, but the quality is rather ugly because I took it on my phone.

AWE! I have a new puppy who sleeps on my Parent's bed. xD
My other dog, a cocker, will hide under beds with just her head poking out from beneath the bedskirt. It's so cute. xD

my new hamster (catnip) drops down her lookout tower tube instead of climbing down, it's like a mini robo hamster rocket ^_^
