Ok, lets hear it people. What totally crappy, unwanted gift did you get, who gave it to you, and what the heck are you gonna do with it?

I got a blouse from my aunt that looks absolutely atrocious. There's not way I would ever, and I mean EVER wear it. It's the most god auful shade of plum and it will not ever see the light of day until I can safely rid myself of it.

I liked all my gifts really. I guess the one that will get the least amount of use is Kung Fu Panda. I got it from my sister, along with three other DVDs. I'm just not a big cartoon-type movie/show person. Maybe I'll like it after I watch it.

I might watch it tomorrow if I don't have anything else to do. I don't know anyone who has seen it. Is it funny?

I loved all my gifts, except maybe this ugly old-lady knit turtleneck-ish sweater that I got from my father-in law.

Well, I don't get many gifts for holidays which aren't dedicated to me, specifically, but the other day a young woman offered me her soul in exchange for the love of a young man she had taken a fancy to. At first I thought she was joking, but it turned out that she was really quite serious. I'm not certain why she went to me for that, exactly - love *does* happen to be a form of insanity, but as the God of Madness, I don't necessarily handle the falling into it. Eating fish with too much mercury in it will make you insane, too, but that doesn't give me any power over marine life. I rather wish it did. I've always wanted a set of tap dancing sharks.

But that's neither here nor there. The point is, this girl was perfectly serious, and really quite insistent about giving up her soul for this poor fellow's affections. So I explained to her - even if I could do that, why would I want her soul? What exactly would I do with it? I couldn't use it for anything, as nobody seems to know exactly what they're for. I couldn't put it on the mantle and look at it, as they're invisible. Can't even wrap it in a cloth and play rugby with it, or burn it for fuel, as they're immaterial. It seems the only thing that souls are good for are trading for people for immortal life, or unlimited wealth, or silly things like that.

So I said to this girl, why don't you bring me a nice cabbage next time, and then I'll think about it.

She hasn't so much as come back to the shrine to pay her respects since then. Hmph! And good riddance!

Oddly enough, I think a gift certificate I got will get the least use.

I'm sure I'll end up using it, but I hate using certificates, I would have really just preferred cash of the same amount. And I can only use it in one of the malls where I live (I guess it's better than just one store...) I've already looked around and bought all the things I would have wanted/belated presents for people on boxing day, so I doubt I'm going to be using it...

Yet, I still appreciate it. And I work in the mall so it shouldn't be hard to find a time to use it. It's just.. the stuff I want to buy is else where. I also really don't understand how it's going to work out, unless my purchase is equal to or over the amount on the certificate, because most stores I know won't give you cash back, and I don't really frequent many of the stores, so it won't do me any good to get store credit.

I got some pajamas with pants that I didn't like. Also, Christmas socks. I hate getting christmas themed things, especially ON christmas. Because, in a day, it's pointless and lame to wear or use them.

A Johnny Depp poster. Don't get me wrong, I'm a fan of his but EVERY year my mom gets me a new one. Yet, she yells at me for having such cluttered bedroom walls.

Id didn't get anything I wouldn't use except these mint. They have animal fat in them so I had to give them away, which was too bad because I have a mint fetish.

I can't really say much of anything for myself. I haven't even received all of my gifts yet. I've received two: the new Metallica CD, and the new Prince Caspian DVD. From my girlfriend and mother. I've still waiting on gifts from sisters... BUT, I can share with you my girlfriend's lousy gift:

Her real name is Faith. (She refuses to go by that name, her full name is Faith Christian - yeah, like a church. Can you imagine if she were a serial killer and the newspaper was reporting on her? Oh yes, the Christian faith is murdering people.) So, anyway, her parents got her these five inch tall wooden letters of her name, with lilies around them. Not something she was too happy to see in the mail. We plan on giving it to a friend to give to her new church (friend is a foster kid, going to a new home, new location - so, new church).

I didn't get very much for Christmas, but I did like what I got. Even if I hadn't liked something, I would've appreciated the effort the person went through to get it for me, you know? My family is having some financial trouble, as is everyone else in America right now.

I know they're trying, that's what really matters to me. ^_^

But to contribute... I got this gift baggy full of snacks from somewhere unnamed. Though some of the snacks are really tasty, there are a couple that smell just too sweet and they make my stomach turn. So does that count? ^^;;

I haven't received anything I didn't wish for, didn't like. The perks of you telling your family what you want and them actually listening. The only thing I was a bit..embarrassed about was the 20 pair of socks my grandma gifted me amongst other things. I do remember mentioning that I'd love more of those fluffy socks she once bought me but 20 pair? Seriously gran...

I loved almost everything. My mother is a great shopper and everyone else gives me money. My aunts got me running stuff, which I ALWAYS appreciate, because one, I need it, and two, it's damn expensive. Though my grandma got me some container of bad-smelling christmassy lip gloss...I hate lip gloss. The only thing I put on my face is zit cream and chap stik.

I mainly received money. But my aunt gave me a glass tube with a candle in it, with a snowman in gel underneath the candle. I doubt I'll really decorate my room with it, seeing as my room is already bursting with little statues and decorative trinkets.
I'll receive my parents' presents on New Year's Day, maybe there'll be a wrong gift among them :XD

My grandmother, though, is the queen of crappy gifts (not for me this year though, I got a very nice book with Egyptian symbols and mythology). She gave my boyfriend a CD with car tuning music last year - which is one of the two music genres he CANNOT stand. But it had the word "explosive" on the cover, and she thought "Well, he's an explosive, energetic guy, so this will fit him". :XD

I'd never complain about either cash, or gift cards. Maybe because my family has THE worst taste in clothes. It's easier just to use a gift card, then to have to return all of the ugly crap first.

I didn't really get anything crappy this year, more like some shirts that I can never wear when I leave the house (The shirt itself is an inside joke, and another one, well I just wore it out of the house, so I guess I can wear it.) And then my cousin got me tons of hotel soap. Not really bad, 'cause I'll use them, but it was random.
My aunt is master of getting me and my family silly presents, like this one year, she got my dad a shirt that had a scribble drawing on it and it said "WARRIOR" underneath. It was even funnier when my brother opened his present and he got the same exact thing. XD

I watched it. It was really cute. It actually made me laugh out loud, which I didn't expect. I loved the coloring and the moral to the story. I'm glad you convinced me to watch it. Thank you.

Oh, and today, I got a shirt. It's really cute. I like it and all, but... It's a little tighter than I like my clothing. I'm kind of well-endowed, I guess, in the boob area, and I don't like to emphasis that. The shirt really makes that area look back, and it's more low cut than I tend to go for... Maybe I'll work out more for it, try to get my chest smaller somehow. So, it's a nice present. I just won't get much use out of it for a while. It kind of makes me think my sister switched up mine and our other sister's presents. It looks more like something she'd get our other sister.

This year I actually liked/had use for all my gifts. I was disappointed by the amount of clothes I got from my grandmother though, she's a doll but she didn't get me anything but clothing. She got my brother lots of xbox games and stuff so I didn't feel quite as loved. Ah well.

A teddy-or-something-like-that -shaped bag, by some guy the same age as me, who perfectly knows I turned 15 half a month ago. I bet it was his mom who bought it xD What am I going to do it? It'll let it rot with the pile of purses I have been collecting ever since I have a memory, gifted to me by people who seem to not notice that I never wear purses or the like. Can't they be like my sister, who seemed to notice clothes is not the answer and gave me an iPod Shuffle this year instead? :'D

PS: *laughs at Sheogorath's post* xD
