OMG. WERE THEY ALL OVER!?! :gonk:

When people used to try to make me eat 'em as a kid, I'd ALWAYS drop them under the table... :ninja:
So when you're an old lady in the retirement home and find lima beans underneath your bed, it means there is a Facade near. :insane:

You have to look extra hard to find the frozen veggie mix without the lima beans.

I think they put so many in just to get rid of them.

Kiddies is right, Facade! They're nuts!

HAH. Good theory, Jeanne.

It's like Lewis Black's theory on candy corn...

Quote:
The worst thing about Halloween is, of course, candy corn. It's unbelievable to me. Candy corn is the only candy in the history of America that's never been advertised. And there's a reason. All of the candy corn that was ever made was made in 1911. And so, since nobody eats that stuff, every year there's a ton of it left over. And the candy corn company sends the guys to the villages and they collect out of the dumpsters all the candy corn we've thrown away. They wash it!! They wash it!

I'll never forget the first time my mother gave me candy corn. She said, "Here - Lewis, this is candy corn. It's corn that tastes like candy". [high pitched sound] This tastes like crap! And every year since then, Halloween has returned and I, like an Alzhiemer's patient, find myself in the room, and the room has a big table in it, and on the table is a bowl of candy corn. And I look at it as if I've never seen it before. "Candy corn", I think. "Corn that tastes like candy. I can't wait". Son of a bitch!!
It's the same thing with lima beans. "They're good! They taste just like any other bean!"

Weird, maybe it's an american thing but here in BC I've never seen mixed veggies with lima beans, they always have carrot cubes and corn and green bean chunks and that's it, course in the frozen variety everything is frostbitten, mushy and generally unpleasant, but my mom has a habit of cooking things for too long.

No, no...candy corn is good!

I love it! Brach's is the only brand to buy though...

Hey guys, sorry that I'm not around much.
We're at the old family house, going through stuff...

"I remember that, I want it!"
"NO...I want it"

Hi Belly!

Thank you for the shake.

I've been busy cleaning attics and garages here at the old "homestead".

I'm at my brother's right now, so I thought I'd check in.
I can't work online in the evening anymore, since we had a huge storm last night, and it took out the cell tower near us. So at the RV, we now no longer have any internet connection...

Yay...we got the internet connection back!

We found lots of cool stuff.
Depression ware dishes, Carnivalware glass, old letters and cards.
Lots of linens that came over from "the old country" (Norway) in the early 1800's.

My sister got most of the old-old family stuff. She's the one with the kids to carry it forward.
My kids are step-kids (my husband's children), so they have no interest in my family stuff.

Actually, the monetary value doesn't really matter, since we would never sell it.
It will just get passed on to the next generation...

Most of our antiques are "well-used". So they probably don't have much monetary value anyway...
