So I've been writing this story since the 7th grade. I keep re-writing the first few chapters over and over again and decided this time around that I should change one of my major player's names. It's been ALL KINDS of things but the most recent one was Rhyon. ...>.>; That's not a very good name for the second in command of the bad guys.... espically not when he can control fire. Was hoping that someone else could shed some light on a GOOD name for a fire fiend. He's human, he just has a magical ability that's gained around the same time our heros gain their magic. HALP!

Update:

I like the ideas.. but they seem a little askew for my world. Maybe it would help if I listed some of my other characters and described the setting a bit...all my notes are inaccessable now and I forget things if they're not written down.

Feyona Saibre - Main Character (Earth Element)
Skyler Fairloom - Fey's Current Flame and Childhood Friend (Water Element)
Jorissa - Fey's Best Friend (? Element)
Daimen - Fey's Former Flame (Void Element)
Destiny - Young Child (Faith Element)
Lorraine - Fey and Skyler's Childhood Friend (? Element)

There's quite a few more characters I just have their names burried in notes somewhere in my apartment and I dunno where.

The setting is a world that has suffered a lot of wars one right after the other and they had finally settled down to what they thought was going to be a long stretch of peace. They live in a series of islands called the "Crescent Islands" because they in the pattern of a crescent moon. Feyona's home town is called Tiron. The planet's name is Camoloufimeria.. >.> This may change too.

Ifrit. Type of fire demon
Basalt. Type of lava
Shamish. Babylonian sun god, also very similar to the modern Hebrew word for candle

Okay, I'm turning to Wikipedia for more types of lava now...
Tephra is the non-lava parts of a volcanic eruption. Like the ash and other fragments.
Eldfell was a volcano that erupted in the 1970s and destroyed a town.
Pompeii was a town that was destroyed in a volcanic eruption in ancient times. Not by lava, actually by tephra.

Tephra sounds female... this guy is BUILT... not in any way shape of form would make you think female and that's that that name does for me...

Pompeii sounds too Asian to me... (don't remember where the town is... >.>; ) ...not that there's anything wrong with Asians, but he's not Asian and therefore I don't think he should have a name that sounds Asian.

I MIGHT use a different spelling of Eldfell... it'll change the pronounciation but I don't like the way it's pronounced anyway so... >.> that would be beneficial...

It was Pei... I've...well I wasn't really their friend but I've heard of Asian peopled named Pei before. >.>

Kawaii reminds me of Hawaii even though I know they're completely different. LOL.

I'm asking if you're not using the name because you and Pei didn't get along. I'm also quietly searching for more fiery names. Not very successfully.

Actually, ya know... I kinda like Aiden. I think I've heard it somewhere before but it doesn't matter that much. People have alike names in books all the time.
