I'm just a Granny here on the site with all these youngsters. While they have all been very good to me, it would be nice to also converse with other old fogey's like myself.

I do have a thread over in the "New Meat" forum (goodness, what a name - makes me laugh), but I started to realize that not very many people go over there to just chat.

I hope this is the right place for a thread like this. If not, would any of you administrator people kindly let me know?

For those who don't know, AARP stands for American Association for Retired Persons (I had to look it up - I never did know what the first A stood for).

Are you retired and would like to chat? Do you have older children or grandchildren and would like to chat about them? Please let me hear from you.
(Or if you just want to chat with some older, more experienced people. You notice, I said "experienced", not necessarily "wiser")

Hello GrannyJ. :)

I believe this topic is more suitable for the Menewsha Nation Forum. I will be moving it shortly.

My brother once got an invitation for AARP when he was 22.
Which is funny because my father still has yet to get an invitation to AARP...

Jenova4: That's pretty funny. They must have thought that your brother was your father!

The age that they sign folks up for AARP is 50, I believe. I was a member before I turned 50, since my husband got there first.

They really are a nice organization. The magazine is always helpful.

I had such a laugh when I saw your post. Here we are, a thread for the "older" generation, and there was your picture in your signature.
(Quite took my breath away).

We may be older, but we're young at heart.
