One bedroom, one bathroom, patio, kitchen with attached dining area, laundry closet, and living room/den.

When I own a home, I don't want it to be new. I will work with what's already there, because I know there are enough vacant houses for me to find one that works for me. It's a waste of land and materials to build a new home while there are still good houses waiting for an owner.

At first I wanted a two-story home, but I'm not so sure I want to grow up with stairs anymore. My knees already seem to have trouble sometimes when having to do too much bending. I want a three-bedroom, three-bathroom house.

Here are two plans for which house I would hope to find.
One-Story:
You'll enter the front door which is at the center of the front of the house, and walk into a tiled foyer, where you'll take your shoes so as not to soil the white carpet. Then, to your left will be the living room, decorated in black and white, tres chic, very modern. To the left of the foyer will be the hallway to the bedrooms and guest bathroom. While we don't have children, the two bedrooms will be an office and a playroom with all our video game consoles set up to a big flatscreen TV mounted on the wall. There may be a pool table or foosball table. The master bedroom will have one of the bathrooms in it. I'll have to finish later, YOGA!

Two-Story:
The living room would still be on the left of the foyer, but the dining room would be the right. Once you walk into the dining room, an archway would lead to my kitchen with an island. This kitchen would have maybe an earthy theme to it: olive green, brown, beige, and maybe some lime green. Stainless steel appliances, maybe. Straight across from the front door would be the stairs to the bedrooms. The laundry room would be under those stairs, and the bathroom would be next to that, still across from the front door [but to the left of the stairway, obviously] (so if you really have to go when you first walk in, it won't be hard to find!).

Upstairs, the master bedroom with the double-mirrored bathroom, bathtub, separate shower, and walk-in closet will be above the kitchen and dining room, so it's to the right of the stairs. The bedroom that will be the playroom will be closer to the stairs, same set-up, and the next door will be the bathroom. Next to that (or maybe across from it) will be the office bedroom. Not sure if I'm finished yet, YOGA!
Yes, GrannyJ. I've thought about my dream home (the same one) since middle school. The only difference in the color schemes of the rooms; it was much more colorful back then. I even drew and colored a blueprint one day for an assignment in French class: we were learning house words. That design stuck with me. I only wish I still had the drawing. I'll have to draw it again one day.

I was going to continue the descriptions, but I guess it doesn't really matter xD

I want a house with THIS view again. *sigh* It truly was a lovely house with 4 bed rooms and a yard. Rather large for Japan I must say, I think the only reason my family had it was due to the earthquake damage it had to make it less then an arm leg and first born child. >.<
But it gave the place charm and with a view like that a few cracks here and there can be forgiven.

I would really like a Japanese apartment, most are just the right amount of space for a single person. I like the ones like this Mind you the rent might due me in >>; This site had no option to find places below 1000.00 for rent...but I am sure there are places for less when you get out of Tokyo.

A gothic mansion with a forboding iron gate. Red and black colours in both the building and the furniture. Lots of fireplaces and a nice family room near the kitchen. It would be a smallish mansion- just enough extra space to be considered copeus and wasteful, but not enough to have too much of that empty feeling. Lots of rooms for guests. Things to put in spare rooms, like the makings for a home theatre and a library, etc. The library and staircases and some bedrooms could be quite old fashioned, but I would like the kitchen and bathrooms to have modern apliances and fixtures.

Kerry, what a beautiful view. I don't doubt that you miss it. At one time that was called a "million dollar" view; however, I don't think that anybody could purchase a place with a view like that for only a million dollars! Even in today's real estate market!

I don't really want a big house.. a small cozy house, maybe on a lake or something, would be good enough for me.

My dream house would be on the country side. :3 Our own peace is important.

it would have two floors. there should be a place for all our computer junk
and other stuff like that, also a place for my ponies and a big closet for my clothes..

it should have a nice comfy bedroom, a very well lighted living room/entertainment room.
an office/working room. a guest room.. spacy kitchen with all the needs, a laundry room and two bathrooms, one with a shower and a sauna.

and on the yard a nice little garden, and a big garage!

well that's about it.. I don't really care about what it looks like otherwise.

My friends house a big house in the forest. Kitchen/dinning room/living room and master suite on first floor. Black granite counters in the kitchen.
Bedrooms and baths upstairs. Huge den with bar, big screen tv and such in finished basement.

It sits on 5 acres in the woods and you can sometimes spot deer out the huge bedroom window.
It is so my dream house.

Quite a few of us would love to have some land. I think that 5 acres would be enough - just enough to feel some privacy, yet not too much to feel isolated. I would also love to have little animals around, even larger ones like deer. Although, if you have a garden, then having deer would not be a good thing.

My dream home would be a cozy home on the beach. It would have wall windows in the living room and the bedroom, which would look out over the beach and catch the light of the sunset. The kitchen would be roomy with both a dishwasher and an island big enough to fit a few stools. The bedroom would have a four poster bed and a 40" screen TV. Also, I remember from my childhood that we lived in a house with a hexagonal living room. x3 There'd be a great big deck on the beach and a dock with a motorboat.

I will own that house one day. >D I swear.

If I had a beachfront home, I'd have to move from where I live. I wouldn't want one in a hurricane zone. It sounds really pretty, though.

I know, I was looking casually in to apartments around my school to live in and even that was really expensive still....
The thing I miss most about that view is that my window also had a cherry blossom tree next to it, that I sadly never got to see in bloom but I can only imagine how amazing that would have been.

I love flowering trees. I would like some more. Here we have crepe myrtles, which are beautiful in the summer. I love the spring blossoms on crabapple trees, but my husband refuses to get one. He says the crabapples that fall off the tree are bad for the mower. He would have to keep picking them up.

I do love honeysuckle vines also. We have a fairly large vine on our fence.
