It is Desire. Some athletes have a couple pints of their own blood drawn out and then reinjected it a few days before they race. Their thinking is more blood means more oxygen. Others have been known to abuse genetically engineered erythopoietin (the hormone that stimulates red blood cell formation that has been made in a science lab). Not all of them, but some have without realizing that it could kill them because it makes their blood thick and it doesn't flow like it should. Thick blood=low oxygen levels=death

Well, Desire, since I am studying the blood, have taken tests on it, will take more later, and I'm a nursing major, I kinda have to know it. It is slightly important. Back in the really old days people thought that blood was magical like an elixir because when enough blood left the body, so did life. Wow.

Well, I finally found hematocrit...it wasn't on the next page like I said it wasn't. It was in a completely different book. Gah! I have said it once, I will say it again. All the answers should be in one (1) book!!!!!!!!

Well, A&P lecture and lab are two different classes taken at the same time. One book is the textbook for lecture and one is the lab book with the reports we have to answer and turn in. I find it weird that some answers are in one book and not the other.
